@@fredachildress3728 I am at the top of the food chain simply because I know how to use deadly tools in the ocean and on land. I hunt for lobster, I kill the lobster with a spear gun, I hunt sharks, I kill the shark with my spear gun. I am at the top of the food chain no matter where I am. I hunt the polar bear every year, it is a huge bear, the largest of all bear species yet I can put the bear down and use the bears fur as a rug, I can also sell the pelt. I am at the top of the food chain, I am at home on sea or land. I feel sorry for people who are weak in any situation. The human species has the ability to engineer and develop tools that can be used to dominate any species of animal, reptile, fish, etc. people need to loosen their under garments and develop some courage.

I’ve been to the Bahamas, it’s fine you probably won’t get eaten by a shark but let me just tell you a little story, we lived in Florida for a few years, on the East Coast just south of Kennedy space Center, I had a window treatment made and the decorator offered me a ride in his friends helicopter up to Jacksonville and back, and the friend was the pilot for the local news channel, he flew the weather reporter around and they did surfing news. anyway so It was only about an hourish round-trip. I kept seeing all these gray blobs everywhere, just all over, near people, far away, just all over so finally I asked the pilot you know what are those, I’m from the Midwest what do I know.. so he looks over his shoulder and shrugged and said sharks, I don’t get in the ocean anymore. There were thousands of them…

His Drone footage shows these misunderstood creatures getting very close to people over & over, & never attacking. Seals & Sea Lions seem to be their preferred prey.

@missy loves emeka No. Very few shark attacks are accidental or provoked. There are test bites to see if the object is edible; shark attacks are an intended meal. Either way, the shark bite, or attack, can end abruptly as the shark may not find the object tasty or edible. In either case, the object can be severely wounded or killed. So, are shark bites, or attacks accidental? No. The shark either intended on tasting the object first (via bite), or the shark intended on devouring the object no matter what (via attack). Do they misidentify the object when biting or attacking? Possibly, but not often.

I'm half greek and have, therefore, spent quite some time on the Greek shore. I don't enjoy swimming, the sun and the sun, but as a child, it never crossed my mind there could be sharks out there. However, now with the internet and social media, there's plenty of sharks getting caught either on camera or in fishermen's nets very close to the shore. It's funny because what the Egyptian minister said, is the opposite of what the Greek and Italian goverments. So basically, just be worried every time you dip in waters that aren't in your tub.

I can't imagine where that statement came from.My daughter lives in North Carolina. While she, her fiance, and a friend were lion their boat she went swimming off the side of the boat. Her fiance and friend started waving her in and screaming. They got her in and seconds later a shark hit the side of the boat. Thankfully, she was fine and the only received minimal damage.

Honestly yes I would go diving in a cage even if the shark broke through it while I was in it. Like the diver I would just remain calm. Sharks very rarely attack people and when they do its usually due to mistaking them for seals. Honestly if I get attacked when being in THEIR territory then it's my fault. It makes me sad that sharks have been demonized so much. Although I pity those who have been attacked we shouldn't blame the victim OR the animal. They're just doing what they were made to do. We have to adapt to keep ourselves safe- not execute an entire species because of a few accidents.

I should also add even sharks attack people they commonly LET GO when they realize it isn't a seal. Sure shark attacks happen but from my understanding it is even less likely to die from actually being eaten by the shark. You're more likely to die from blood loss or infection.

Compared to the amount of humans killed per year to how many sharks are killed is in the thousands. We’re more of a danger to them than they are to us. It’s their home and have more of a right to be there than us. Many of the water sport guys have so much respect for the fish and even when bitten they don’t blame the shark and campaign against shark culling and the use of nets which are known to be a hazard to the fish.

I feel for the lady pulled under by nurse sharks. People jump to judge regardless of their lack of knowledge in the actual event. When I was in my early 20’s my then boyfriend now husband and I went to Punta Cana. Both of ours very first legit vacation. We went parasailing with only the 2 of us and the staff on the boat. I went first, alcohol fueled bravery lol, and absolutely loved being so high in the sky and was interestingly watching a small school of large fish. Thinking omg are those sharks!! That’s when the motor on the boat died and I started falling down into the Caribbean now terrified as I was in shark territory. The last thing I heard before plunging into the water was a mans voice with a strong Dominican accent yell Hey lady Hope you can swim! Thought I was going to die! A minute later the engines started and I was climbing back into the clouds. Found out after that my idiot now husband had plotted it out with the guys on the boat because I would love it, they would laugh their asses off and they’re only nurse sharks….

To me it just seems like since they started feeding sharks at the bottom of the ocean floor and chumming to let people in cages see sharks they are training sharks to associate people and boats with food what does anyone think about this ?

How about using Shark repellents. Or Electronic gadgets that send out frequencies that keep sharks away. Diving with a steal shark proof suit. Or diving with a knife or a spear maybe a spear is better because it has more reach and you don't have to stab it necessarily you can block his bite with it. Once a huge tiger shark circled my surfboard 4 or 5 times in Florida about 18 years ago when I was 12. But I was able to get away as soon as it went 3 or 4 meters away i paddled quickly to the shore. After that I didn't go in the water for a year and the whole next summer I brought a diving knife with me I was terrified for a couple of years.

Those facts are wrong for the Eastern United States. We have a seal population. Once the seal became protected from being hunted and the population became bigger, more whites showed up. Whites have always been here. Also with the restrictions on waste in the harbors and bays the whites states coming in closer. We also just found out that from south jersey to almost Maine is popping grounds for the great whites. We have a great white nursery. It's always been there. Just wasn't healthy with over fishing noise and pollution. Now with laws and regulation the overall sea life has rebounded. I would not be surprised if a pod of orcas show up next. Usually after a while with seals and sharks and other types of fish, orcas will eventually show up. The orcas on the west coast finally had babies, all thanks to covid 19. Which was bad for humans. With the shut down all over the world. The oceans finally had quiet and less traffic and more food. So the pods fattened up and did what orcas do and now have q few babies. SO with that in mind we humans need to do things better for the animals when animals are doing good so do humans. All wild life bounced back or did better with the shut down. SO scientists and government need to look at the facts and do something different. If we don't we will lose our wildlife both on land and in the oceans, even the honey bees did better. Those honey bees die so does every living being on this planet. Well except cockroaches. Those thing will Live through any thing. Yucky bugs. I know they are needed but still yucky disease caring bugs. So gross,

Watch an episode of shark week and learn of the Australian surfer that was eaten whole by a great white right infront of his friends and family and a week later his shorts and keys washed up on shore. Theres many many stories like this.

I have been in a cage that got attacked by a great white. The shark broke the bars and attempted to grab the river with me. The shark got his arm but only ripped the tissue after the cage was brought up the people on the boat asked if I wanted to go again. I was 13 and very much said no.

I am probably in the minority, but I have MORE respect for people who have just recovered from a shark attack that say they DO NOT want to jump back in the water again. Everyone is like: “Look at me, I’m RIGHT BACK IN the water & my stitches haven’t even healed yet!” Sometimes I think it is wise to at LEAST have a healthy respect & a touch of fear for the ocean & it’s apex predators!! (Yes, thank you, internet, for also giving me a strong fear of Orcas, too!)🙂🙂🐢
