Most effective use would be to send out on an attack plan using waypoints. It should autonomous and carry 2-4 Javelins in addition to a machine gun. 360 degree observation once it is 2 miles out. In real military operations, unmanned vehicle can't and will never operates alone. Most of unmanned vehicle military tech we see is to accompany infantry rather than to let them operates far and alone. The chances of enemy found out UGV and then hack it or steal it, is very unlikely. Not to mention most combat UGV is equipped with small caliber weapon system and multitudes of sensor, the enemy needs to disable the sensors and the weapon in order to do anything about it. But then again, there's no use for broken UGV; it needs repair and needs software to operate.
