    I keep a few pieces of wire from wire clothes hangers. They're about 14" long, one is straight with the ends cut at an angle. I use it to chuck up in a drill to go through wood or sheetrock as a spotter. I bent a hook on another one to use when I need to hook a wire or cable when fishing down a wall. I also switched from Klein linesman pliers to Knipex linesman pliers a few years ago, I definitely prefer the Knipex. I have the same Fluke tester, excellent choice.

    Great video, I also like knipex tools, when it comes to pliers, wera is another great brand. The stepcut is a compact but powerful tool. For measuring equipment I'm using Testo clampmeter and multimeters. Another very useful tool for inspection is a thermal camera but that one is not in my toolbag,but I use it very frequently.

    I carry two different sizes of plier wrenches, they do suck for a lot of tight locations where an adjust is actually better. The two parallel flat jaws do a great job at quickly straightening out bent corners of metal panels.

    Ok my go to are the following: Klein 11 in 1, needle nose, voltmeter, baby crescent and a channel lock. I do alot of troubleshooting so that line up right there usually gets me by.

    Klein makes a great plier wrench. They’re 10” though but they have a flippable insert for grip on pipes. It’s been a lifesaver for coax plant maintenance. Basically the only speed wrench on 1-1/2” hardline fittings. Sure as shit beats an adjustable wrench and costs a few bucks more than the Klein adjustable wrenches the company gives us.

    In the uk i use an old wire coat hanger for fishing cables hooking cables out of ceilings etc , pretty handy , nobody seems to be able to replicate the some old school ways ! Piece of decent wire will do just fine but the coat hanger is undefeated !

    I use my M12 1/4 impact driver all day and every day. That gun is prob the best thing I have bought in the past couple years. I love that little gun. I also use nut drivers when I can not use the impact.

    Tip… you need to put water on the metal and let it sit. You can tell you’ve never used the stuff mine is a year old and hardly used and they show more wear, especially in the shine of the metal

    I've bought most of these tools at this point and they are all great, except for Zyklops. I do not like that it doesn't have a ball bearing to hold on sockets. I'm always working in a confined space or up on a ladder so not having the socket stay on there is a huge pain.

    It really depends what it's dirty with. Generally speaking.. blow off / out what you can using an airgun + air compressor, hit it with a good shop/ridgid vac with a brush attachment to agitate the rest... ...but caked mud? How much you want to put into it if it's going to get caked up again? Regardless, a small upholstery cleaner (like you'd use in car detailing, couches, stairs, etc.) would be nice for that.

    Quit using misleading titles. These are tools you use every day but then your “#1” tool, the fluke, you say you don’t use it every day and again why are you removing full sheets of dry wall? lol you mean to tell me you find every screw, dig all the joint compound out, cut the taped seam, and pull off a full sheet of drywall?

  • @americanelectrician

    @americanelectrician

    5 ай бұрын

    It seems like an over correction to be upset with this title. You’re getting exactly what you were looking for when you clicked on it. It doesn’t create a very clickable title to put tools I mostly use every day and it doesn’t matter what I make if no one sees it. It’s not full sheets of dry wall. It’s portions of that I’ve cut out and they can be reused if you take the screw out and put it back in. It’s gives you access to the wall and only leave mudding and painting
