I must say, I was surprised to see "Mad Max: Fury Road" left off the list. Not only did it arrive 25 years after the very lukewarm reception to "Beyond Thunderdome" at a point when the series had long fallen off the cultural radar, but it was a box office smash and critical darling.

Yeah, Fury Road was absolutely spectacular. You could tell George Miller had a true passion for movie making by the quality of the first film despite the non-existent budget, so it was really cool to see what he could do with unlimited resources. Honestly I rank the opening sequence of Fury Road among the top 10 movie openings I've ever seen- it's right up there with Once Upon A Time In The West, Lord of War, Inglourious Basterds, Dark Knight, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Godfather, etc...

Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI was a welcome tongue in cheek departure from previous Voorhees entries, especially Part V. And then there's the wet and wonderful surprise that was Jaws 2.

Some nice recommendations to movies I haven’t watch. Lol crank 2 really grab my attention when the main character was on fire and kissing a girl. The reality vs what was in his mind was great. I think it left impressionable scene like the race track.

A good list and I agree with most. However, Crank: High Voltage was far too silly to work for me. I loved the original and I liked the premise of the second. But compared to the tone set by the first, this one didn’t feel believable within the cinematic universe. Of course, that’s not to say it didn’t have its charms and I don’t begrudge anyone who truly enjoyed it.

Predator 2 - It shouldn't have worked. It should have sucked. The first film was self contained and Arnold wasn't returning. The sequel took place in Los Angeles and starred Danny Glover. Yet Predator 2 was awesome. The action sequences were cool, the premise worked a lot better than I had anticipated (Predator having a field day amidst a gang war) and it expanded the mythos of the alien including one of the greatest Easter Egg moments ever with the reveal of the Xenomorph skull among the trophies. Mad Max: Fury Road - I groaned when I heard a new Mad Max was on the way, especially after Beyond Thunderdome underwhelmed me so much. Mel Gibson wasn't returning... which was probably for the best, but still. Then I saw the first trailer. Oh My God. IT looked like someone gave The Road Warrior a case of Red Bull. It was insane, over the top, brutal, weird and incredible. Easily my favorite of the franchise. Those are the only two I can think of right now.

The weird boss battle at the end of Crank 2 was a severe disappointment, and it DOES seem logical that there was a good chance for a third, considering how the end of the first hinted at a continuance, and even the end of the 2nd did the same thing.

Ten years later sequel to Zombieland is like the umpteen years later sequel to Jumanji, in that they are both good. Also, since the former ends and the latter starts the presentation, it’s kind of like book-ends.

Final Destination 5 was the best since 2. I still think FD2 is the best of the franchise...1 was good, but it was little goofy with how it portrayed Death as a physical entity surrounding their every move, 2 was more grounded and spooky.

Honourable mention should surely go to Blade Runner 2049. Released a whole 35 years after the original, fans were at best suspicious and at worst actively appalled when it was first announced. It was released to huge critical acclaim, however - even though it has barely managed to break even at the box office.
