10 Movie Mistakes So Perfect They Were Left In

Ойын-сауық

These mistakes were too good to edit out of the final movie! Subscribe to our channel: goo.gl/ho3Hg6
In the world of filmmaking, we often imagine everything as being perfectly planned, rehearsed, choreographed, and perfect. But as most of us should know, there is no such things as perfection. Filmmakers are well acquainted with Murphy’s Law, which basically states that what can go wrong will go wrong. But hey, that’s life. Things don’t always go as planned. Not even in the seemingly perfect world of movie magic. It doesn’t matter how much you rehearse something, things can always take a turn for the worst. And sometimes mistakes can turn out to be a good thing and make scenes in films a lot better. These mistakes, or enhancements, are sometimes left in the final cuts of the films. Such is the case for several movies that we will be discussing today.
In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Star-Lord tries to hand over the orb that unbeknownst to him contains an Infinity Stone. But he ends up dropping it and without missing a beat grabs it and continues to hand it over to the Collector. This drop was a total mistake but it fits Star Lord’s dorky personality don’t you think?
Did you know that the scene where Aragorn kicks a helmet and drops down screaming in agony was a mistake? No it wasn’t just the anguish of thinking Merry and Pippin were dead, Viggo Mortensen actually broke his toes when he did that take.

    Django Unchained was my favorite moment because DeCaprio stayed in character even after hurting his hand. That shows true commitment and he didn't break character and just continued the scene.

    The actress in that scene recalled how horrified she was to see the blood. Her fright is real, as she has an aversion toward blood. Like DeCaprio, she didn't break character.

    Raghu Seetharaman Originally i had a problem with it because he cuts his hand checks his hand then goes into character noticing his hand is bleeding. While impressed I did hate on that because it didn't flow with the world of the film because the "actor" looks at the cut before the character. Given a second look at it now over time i realize they probably edited the scene that way(long take no cuts) on purpose so the audience can see he truly cut himself and that DiCaprio went on with the scene. Which flipped my whole understanding of the scene around.

  • @Secondduck

    You could also argue that the character noticed that he was bleeding and, furious as he was and wanted to show how much in control he was, ignored it.

    Definitely a great scene but if you look at the man playing the lawyer he noticed this and he literally breaks character because you see him nervously motion to DiCaprio's hand. And only when he sees that DiCaprio is still doing his monologue and Tarantino hasn't called cut that he slips right back into character again.

    Should have had Batman: The Dark Knight in there. Scene where Joker blows up the hospital. When Joker sets of the bombs, only half the rigged explosives go off initially. Cameras kept rolling, ledger stayed in character, gave the remote a little nudge, the second round of explosives went off, and Joker toddles off

    nah, genuinely wasnt supposed to happen like that. They only had 1 take to blow up the hospital, all the explosives were supposed to go off together, but something went wrong. As they were aware they only had 1 take to get it right, the cameras kept rolling, and Ledger stayed in character. Just so happens that it all ended up looking fine anyway

    They actually did show precisely what mistake they were talking about, what they didn't show was the setup around it. So if you weren't already familiar with the moment, you didn't realize they were actually showing it to you. Like the first one, the mistake is he drops the orb while handing it over but catches it and keeps going. They showed this at 1:32 but what they didn't show was the lead up to dropping it, or why he was handing it over. Or the zoolander mistake, they show at 2:58 the line Ben Stiller says is the mistake, what they didn't show was the several minutes of dialogue prior to that which sets up the joke/mistake.

    The Usual Suspects, while standing in the police line up, characters begin laughing and McManus (Baldwin) punches Fenster (Del Toro) in the arm. It works for the dialogue, and feeling of the scene, but it was unscripted. The laughter and punch were because Benicio Del Toro had just let a fart rip before delivering his line

    yes and no... You see they had started shooting that scene just after a lunch break. Which caused Benicio to be flatulent for the entire time of over two hours. It was supposed to be a "straight all business" scene so Bryan constantly scolded them like children, really getting angry at them using quite a bit of profanity. However, this fueled the actors giggles even more. So, Bryan decided to leave the cameras rolling until he had the straight takes that HE insisted upon and refused to take a break. So, Ottman created two scenes from this footage. The completely "straight faced" takes which included Spacy's which is also found in the second version which used outake moments for the others reciting the line.

    Some find "Trekker" to be too awkward or pretentious, while others feel "Trekkies" has a mocking tone. Trekkers is a term that originated many years ago, and is preferred by some fans because it literally means "someone who 'treks' (i.e. 'takes a journey')," as opposed to 'Trekkies' which is a word that has no actual meaning. The fact that "Trekkies" also has sometimes been used as a derogatory term by those who find diehard fans a bit weird, has turned off some who would rather not be associated with it. Most fans don't really care all that much one way or the other.

    In The Princess Bride, Cary Elwes was also injured a second time. He was trying to ride an all terrain vehicle without training or permission, crashed it, and hurt his leg. But he wanted to hide that from the director (notice the "without permission" part), so in the scene just before Buttercup pushes him down the hill and he reveals his identity with the famous "As you wish", when he sits down on the rock above that hill with one leg outstretched, he's actually doing that because he was sneakily favoring the outstretched leg, but the director didn't realize and just thought "Oh, how creative and graceful, that's perfect for the character!" and left it in. Cary writes about it in his memoirs about the making of the movies. Which are fantastic.

    As with Star Wars, so called "real" fans will dislike anything that has to do with their fandom. I'm a Blade Runner fan, and even if I dislike the divergence over the original Deckard being a replicant, I can perfectly live with the new story it being so good.

  • @publicguy1664

    @publicguy1664

    6 жыл бұрын

    I thought 2049 was amazing, love the original. But yes, it did get mixed reviews and did not perform well at the box office, coincidentally neither did the original. Also, Deckard WAS a replicant in the 1st one, the final director's cut was finally the whole movie as the director intended. The whole unicorn dream sequence and his partner making an origami unicorn is supposed to let the audience know that Deckard is a replicant because his partner knows what his dreams are because all replicants have the same dreams and there was a moment where Deckard's eyes light up. The other major subtle detail that Deckard is a replicant is the fight at the end is a little too rough for a normal human. Also as a side note, I think the dream thing is supposed to be an obvious nod to the original material, "Do androids dream of electric sheep", and also in 2049, Gosling's "K" is obviously a reference to Philip K. Dick.

  • @orionassante3386

    @orionassante3386

    6 жыл бұрын

    Deckard's eyes lighting up were as a result of Harrison Ford missing his mark and standing in the wrong spot. Deckard was always intended to be human and Ridley Scott decided to keep the error in the film to add some ambiguity to Deckard. Everyone who worked on the film aside from Ridley Scott says Deckard was always a human and Harrison Ford said he played him as a human and Hampton Fancher who adapted the book to film still says to this day he never wrote Deckard as a replicant and this was something Ridley added on a whim during production.

    What about the T-Rex scene in Jurassic Park? When the T-Rex was banging on the roof of the Jeep while trying to get to the kids, the part where the roof falls in on them wasn’t supposed to happen. The T-Rex animatronic was absorbing the rain water, which made it too heavy to stay up, so when they made it go down, it lost balance and went all in. Yeah, those screams from the kids were 100% real.
