They are all designed against specific threats. The US Systems against Ballistic missiles. the Russian Systems against ground attack aircraft. The European Systems against cruise missile. The Israeli Systems against against short range surface to surface missiles. They should be judged not on what they can do but on how effective they are against the threats going against them.

Also cost-effectiveness should be considered. A single S-400 missile costs more than some targets it is supposed to destroy and has never been field tested. The S-300 system can't target small drones or stealth, but can be very easy taken out by a small drone. Also these systems don't even come close to the maximal range when not linked up. Just numbers about range etc doesn't say much.

@@mver191 As we all see in Ukraine, the S-400 really had a lot of problems with Bayractar drones, so the S-400 system, fielded alone is very vulnerable. The solution would be to implement the Pantsir as a secondary defensive system, but it seems Russia couldn't properly maintain those trucks and this lead to many S-400 being left without escort. Another note in the history that is the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Israel attacks only areas of Syrian forces in most cases outside of Syrian border, using the Golan heights below radio horizon of Syrian radars. Syrian army just got the S-300 system, they not finished education yet. Syrian forces uses only old Soviet S-200 (which left just few) and old Soviet 'Kub' systems. Syria don't have the full operational air defense system. They have a lot of gaps in the air defense, since Syrian territory was almost occupied by ISIS. To cover Syrian territory, they need at least eight full air defense regiments... The "Pantsir" complexes destroyed hundreds of missiles and drones in Syria. One of the "Pantsir" was destroyed in nonoperational state without missiles, with switched off radar and with the unit crew outside of the cabin. The second one was destroyed by 'star attack' with overwhelming number of missiles flying from different directions. At the bottom line: hundreds of intercepted missiles and drones in Syria, and only two loses per few years. But you are a stupid American junk, uneducated and arrogant. You have no understanding how an air defense systems works at all. Continue to play your computer games and watch Hollywood propaganda movies.

S500 with a range of 600KM launching in late 2021 will be the ultimate weapon a country can have.

Iron dome because of its short range only protects high value targets, of the 4,639 missiles launched so far its only even attempted to intercept 1,500 of them and with a 90% success rate against these mostly primitive made in someones back yard rockets. (Qassam is literally a lead pipe and simple mortar rocket powered by a fuel made from sugar)

In first war in Iraq Patriot intercepted a SCUD missile. As far I remember Patriot is not antiballistic missile due to low speed (3.5 mach) and the ceiling. S-300 has antiballistic capabilities. The advantage against Patriot is the vertical launch so it needs one battery to cover 360 degrees instead of three for Patriot. Greece has both of them systems all though gave Patriot to Saudi Arabia. S-400 is the ultimate so far. I wonder the strength of it to jammers. Maybe in Syria Israelis tried or achieved to blind it's radar.

A SCUD missile is an unguided ballistic missile. A patriot missile is designed to hit long range ballistic missiles which are coming from fixed locations, thus the directional radar. The S-300/S-400 systems were designed to take out bombers, thus they have to guard on a 360 degree approach.

@@grokranfan8578 Which one? The airliner in Ukraine was shot down by a Buk, all sides confirmed it. In Iran it was a Tor, Iran confirmed it. The Iranian airliner in 1988 was shot down by an SM-2 from the USS Vincennes, and the scumbags even got medals for killing 290 civilians.

The presentation of all systems was absolutely great, but it’s short in terms of radars because you forgot to mention that the aster 30 for an exemple has the best radar that can intercept two targets low and high at the same time, this is something that the patriots or the s-400 and not in the system in the world can do and it’s a very very strong advantage that a defense missile system can have. Also the aster 30 is the quickest defense missiles system that can intercept any missile or any aircraft of any time with the most precision. By saying this i can estimate that the rest of the information you brought in the video are inaccurate due to your limited information about the systems that exists.

Not any system listed above, the main defense against a locust attack is by disrupting the sensors and guidance mechanisms, so through lasers. The US military is also starting to train soldiers to shoot down small UAVs with battle rifles, nets, and a few other means. But a full locust attack (swarm attack) would be extremely difficult to counter and depending on the drones they use in the swarm will determine the method of defense.

The Russian BUK M3 would make that list right now. It's probably superior to the S300. In fact, so would the S350.

You are right,Russia doesn't actually use the s300 anymore,they are converting their S300s to S400 level.

@@isahbello9785 Yes, according to Wikipedia, they have something like nearly 4000 of these systems of varying types. If I've read it right. That is one hell of a defence system. When I look at my own country, the UK, we have about 63 Star Streak systems and about 24 Rapier. Both are just short range. Quite pathetic really.

The S-350 is an S-400 on tracks (tracked chassis for mobility) to support ground troops. Apart from lacking the longest range missiles (400 km) and radars (600 km) it is practically the same.

S-300 V series are mobile, designed to protect ground troops at army level. S-300 P series are deployed stationary, protecting key areas, infrastructure, bases, etc. S-300 F is the naval version on the Kirov and Slava-class vessels.

These systems were ranked by firing range and specification. Out of all this list, some have been prooven in battle, yet others show as operational failures under fire. Two I have seen with my own eyes, are the Patriot operated by the USAF actually being fired while deployed in Haifa Israel in 1991, and hitting Sadams Scuds. A sight I will never forget and I'm eternally greatful to US armed forces. More recently the Iron Dome, a technologicl wonder operated by our best and brightest young men women and officers. Can't go wrong with successful battlefield experience.

Here is painful fact that slap a "this presentation is irrelevant" sentence on it. There are many kinds of air defense system, those shown in the presentation were used against aircraft or missile at long range. On the other hand, there are also things called CIWS, MANPAD, ect, which are also air defense systems but were used differently. And beside, those are just launchers not the systems.

Right now i would put iron dome at the top spot, it is being tested to its maximum effeciency as i write this comment, no defense system is 100% effective, anytime of the day i would choose this israeli defense system it already prove its mittle and there's plenty of room for improvement....
