Yes, please, to Part II. I expected Alien to be on the list, as I think it influenced a lot of jasmine-centric scents.
Yes to Part II, I would add Calvin Klein Obsession from the 80's and CK One from the 90's which was marketed as one of the first unisex fragrances.

Agree with CK One. Most fresh unisex fragrances that came after it had that same dna that reminds me so much of late 90’s early 2000's

Yes, CK one is also iconic...and maybe Gaultier Classique
Poison from the 80s is absolutely amazing!! The now Hypnotic and Poison girl has nothing on the OG. All of the IFRA regulations led to watered down fragrances and it irks me to no end!
I remember in the late 80’s / 90’s when I was in high school then college, designer fragrances were everywhere! Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds, Elizabeth Arden Red Door, Clinique Happy, Calvin Klein Escape and on and on. I like to keep these oldies around because I like to smell them from time to time because it brings back such memories! ❤😊
All these are iconic. When I entered my 20's in the late 90's/early 00's, I loved Estee Lauder Pleasures and Beautiful, these 2 deserve a mention.
1980's....Ralph Lauren's Lauren in the burgundy glass cube. It was my ride or die. I'd love to find an original Cosmair bottle.
Yes part 2 and happy holidays to you and family 😊
I really loved learning these facts! Do a part 2❤
Clinique-Aromatics Elixer, Prescriptives-Calyx, Estee Lauder-Youth Dew and Lancome-Magie Noire
I loved the history aspect of this video. Thank you! ❤
Hi Yana, this is much appreciated; yes to part 2 🤗
This was such a fun video. I love makeup/fragrance history❤
Poison, original Coco, and Opium have been in my rotation for 30 years. They're incredible.
Purchased La Vie Est Belle for my daughter 2 years ago . Luckily she loves it. Burberry Her edp last Christmas.
❤loved this video, please part II.
Great video, i'd like to see part II.
Of course I've heard of Fracas from Robert Piguet. My favorite is Bandit, green deliciousness just like Vent Vert by Balmain. Also, I live and die by Shalimar. Remember, I'm old and I used to wear the old version back in the day. Nothing they make today can compare to the old classics, except for La Panthere by Cartier. Not for the faint of heart, that's for sure.
Yes, please to a Part II. I adore La vie est belle.
I would love to see part 2 Merry 🎅 Christmas 🎄
Great video!!! Thank you!😊❤❤
I remember when Angel came out. My mom started wearing it, and then all her friends started wearing it. It is such an iconic scent. I love smelling it, it reminds me of my childhood 🥰 I don’t wear it, but I wear Angel Muse EDP in winter
Chanel No 5 was the first one that came to my mind. Fun video!
Yes please part 2 😄💖
Terrific video! I’m an Alien girl, but have three bottles of Addict (the OG formulation).
I loved this video!!!!
Yes, I'd love a part 2 :)
I have a vintage bottle of Habanita by Molinard that I absolutely adore. I would offer up a classic chypre for your list too like Mitsouko. Very influential and still a standout favourite.
Totally agree! Need a part 2:)! With Delina and Light blue :)

Love this video
In the 90s every mall smelled like Angel! I hated it then, but now I own the edt version and I like it.
Mademoiselle is so beautiful. Smelled it way across the store after someone sprayed it. I had to find the source of that beautiful smell 😂
I love Guerlain Shalimar !! It is so unique and cozy but definitely an acquired and intense scent. & Chanel No 5 has been on my wishlist for years. I may finally get it soon. Also Givenchy L'Interdit is my absolute favourite perfume of all time it was my wedding scent!

Love Givenchy!❤
oh! I would also add Calvin Klein Obsession and CK1!
Three of these have been my signature scents over the years. Also still wear three on the list.
Flowerbomb is the only patchouli scent that I like. The patchouli is blended so well and iso integral to that profile.
Love this! I have been wearing fragrance since I was little (80’s), and collecting and learning since my teens (90’s). I own or have owned the original versions of most of these. My vintage Fracas is still good, and, to my nose, not nearly as strong as L’Interdit, My Way, and other newer tuberose scents, though I haven’t smelled the reformulation (which may be stronger). It was also a favorite of Marilyn. Piguet’s Bandit and EL Azuree were pioneers with their leather note. I totally agree that Poison influenced so many. I personally don’t enjoy NR Musc Noir Rose because it reminds me of vintage JPG Classique which I never cared for, but immediately smelled the Poison vibes in the Musc Noir (that tuberose isn’t listed but is definitely there). I think other honorable, relevant mentions would be EL Youth Dew (good story behind how Estée got this in stores for anyone who might be interested) and YSL Rive Gauche because they were some of the first marketed for women to buy for themselves rather than for their men to buy for them. Also CK Obsession (which used to be SO much better, sweeter and richer, IMO). I think it and Shalimar (the first Oriental fragrance, btw) really paved the way for Dior Addict like you said. Prescriptives (now Clinique) Calyx was unique for it’s time as well, kind of introducing a green, fruity floral vibe in a time of serious heavy hitters. I think it totally influenced the influx of body mist in the fragrance industry/market. Clinique Aromatics Elixir was a chypre smash that smelled like money. Not super easy for everyone to wear, but deserves a nod. Also CK One. It was the first scent I recall being marketed as unisex (although others such as Acqua di Parma Colonia had obviously been enjoyed by everyone for years). CK One was EVERYWHERE! I actually preferred CK Be, but will give credit where credit is due, lol. Elizabeth Arden Green Tea was the first predominant tea scent hit that I recall (CK One had tea, I believe, but it wasn’t the star). Green Tea was also EVERYWHERE in the 90’s! Still good, IMO, though watered down a bit now. Ooh, Prada Infusion d’Iris COMPLETELY modernized and reintroduced the note of iris to a whole new generation! Also, I have to mention (for my fellow musk lovers) Jovan Musk and White Musk, Kiehl’s Original Musk, The Body Shop White Musk, and NR For Her edt - all SO relevant! Again, thank you for making a video like this. You and The Fragrantician are two of the only reviewers I have found who seem to love knowing, honoring, and sharing the history behind the fragrances like I do. I appreciate that! Whether we enjoy these fragrances or not, without them, we wouldn’t have so many of the fragrances we love today. Thank you for showing them some respect! Sorry for rambling - fragrance is my absolute passion, and has been since my first bottle of Love’s Baby Soft that my grandma gave me for Christmas at the ripe old age of 4! Anyway, happy holidays to you and your family along with your fragrance community here! Y’all know we’re all getting perfume, and will be smelling fabulous! 💝

Whoa- Love’s Baby Soft brings me back! It was surprisingly sexy but marketed for young kids. I can relate to everything you said here. I really enjoyed CK Be and yes I consider it a landmark first Unisex fragrance. One outlier that is believe has stood the test of time and is STILL a favourite because of it’s unique scent profile is L’eau D’Issey. Somehow Mr Miyake captured the essence of water as a fragrance.

I remember and wore almost every fragrance you mentioned. I loved Calyx and Aromatic Elixir, it doesn't smell good to me, the reformulation smells like it's gone bad. I also loved CK Escape and Contradiction. One for summer and Contradiction in Winter. Does anyone remember Fendi?

Love ur videos❤, some iconic perfumes imo r Nina ricci L air du temps White diamonds Knowing Estee lauder Narciso Rodriguez for her edt Chanel Chance JPG classique Estee lauder pleasures Gucci bloom and some discontinued ones that make me sooo sad !

My mum had Opium when I was little, I only remember it as that exact bottle, but empty and still in original packaging. Didn't know anything about brands back then, but understood that it's one of the most precious things in the house :D Would love to smell and see if I'm able to remember the scent
This list is SO ACCURATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the 90's I remember ck one. Everybody wears it back in the days.
I would include J'adore, it was a classic. And Light Blue.

J’adore is the milestone of European perfumery saying that they finally arrived at the “clean aquatic” era. Love it!
A beautiful classic fragrance that I love : Royal Bains by Caron (a mix of n5 and Kenzo Flower). Addictive ❤
I had the strangest thought when I tried Shalimar in my late teens. It smelled like walking into a Lush store. It had the same citrusy, balmy, powdery vibe.
Yes please to part 2, Chanel No 19, Clinique Aromatics Elixir, and YSL Rive Gauche - all SO very popular in the 70s. And Drugstore Charlie and Tabu (from the 30s) was also a hit in the 70s from the drugstore collections. Love my Chanel No 19 Vintage.

I loved Chanel #22, the new version doesn't smell the same, not to me anyway. Used to be my vacay to Maui fragrance to take with me. Such a pretty scent, but was strong
thank you on your videos!! I really enjoy them. I wish i have your opinion im looking for add a fragance to my life (Ive been wearing NRodriguez EDT and Pure posion Dior for year now) Unfortunally all the others NR doest work for me. All the Chance collection did work but I dont like at all. I'm thinking on delina la rosse or maybe apollinia, can you sugest some? thank you so much 💖💖🤍
My favorite of all time is Mitsouko by Guerlain. I still wear it after 30 years.
Would love to see a part 2❤ 14:26

The 90 version was strong. I am sure I choked out a few people.😂
Both my mom and mother in law wore Chanel No.5. It wasn't for me. And unfortunately, I don't like Shalimar. It reminds me of someone that I used to work with, who would douse herself with it. My great Aunt wore Opium and Poison, and they're just too heavy for me. Angel smelled good on others, but it was a no for me. I do like Coco Chanel. I so adore the Baccarat Rouge 540 perfume. Please do a part 2. Thanks, Yana.❤❤
What do you think of Chanel Gabrielle? I just bought it and I love it.
Part 2 !
Can you do a review on Henry Rose & Victoria Beckham fragrances?
Part 2!!!
Angel! All day every day my signature scent for years and will be forever bitter this frangrange turned to absolute garbage in the reformulation...Im trying to open my nose to new scents like Narciso, Chanel, Guerlain...and love them all, but the OG Angel will always be my fave. The peppery notes mixed with the patchouli and chocolate behaved so well on me. Havent tried flowerbomb or la vie est belle. Coco Noir and Libre are my new picks...for now. But I miss the Og Angel!!! :(
I loved YSL Opium when it came out. Wasn't Chanel No 5 the 5th sample in the lineup and hence the name. I wore Shalimar years ago, too sweet for me now! Merry Christmas 🎄

that is what I had heard, the perfumer gave her a bunch of sample bottles of fragrances to smell and she like the fifth one best, thus #5
I would like to hear about Guerlain Mitsouko, L'Heure Bleue, ISSEY MIYAKE L'Eau d'Issey, Santa Maria Novella, and a molecular fragrance like Molecule 01. Oh, and CK One was groundbreaking.
@VanyaSalkeld-zi7rp

Mitsouko is far the best....stands out. I find that some of designer ones smell cheep.
Lovely video! Indeed great to see the history and influence on other fragrances. And maybe add Narciso Rodriguez for her, because of the influence on musk scents. Merry x-mas

I agree on the Narciso 🥰 Definitely going in Part 2!
A few years ago I visited Savannah, SC. A small shop in the old sector of Savannah sold an Eau de Toilette called Savannah Rain. I love this scent. Sadly, the shop has closed and no one seems to know where I can buy a bottle of this fragrance. Would you have any knowledge of this product and where I might purchase a bottle?
I would add Delina
I’ve had a bottle of all of these at one time or another. Only a few are wearable now - Coco Mademoiselle, Flowerbomb, LVEB and Angel (sprayed sparingly only). A funny memory - years ago I was commuting to work by bus in NYC when a woman wearing Shalimar got in the bus. The driver told her she had to sit in the rear because her perfume made him sick!

Really enjoyed this video! I’m a 60’s kid and as a teen I was gifted Shalimar and I never grew to enjoy it. I also had Chanel No 5. As an 80’s teen, Poison was all the rage and YSL Paris was extremely popular too. I’m so glad you covered BR540 because I think it’s this century’s biggest influence so far.

Armani Si will be a classic in the future. I just hate the bottle.
Vanilla28 because of its influence on layering Olympéa because of the popularity of its salt with vanilla Angels' Share of course sorry, i seem to be focusing on gourmand note-forward scents
My mother got in trouble with her conservative law firm employer for wearing the OG Dior Poison 🧨
hey everyone, i need some advice so, i don’t smell bad, but i’d still like to improve my scent. so i wanted to match everything i use to match? (like deodorant, perfume, skin care products etc.) skin care products i keep neutral, deodorant i usually also keep neutral. my hair shampoo has some lime extract in it which is definitely prominent (and i wouldn’t like to change it since until now it’s the only shampoo i’ve found to keep my hair healthy). when it comes to shower gel, the scent has some jasmin and blueberry in it, quite soft i’d say? so, does anybody have any recommendations for me when it comes to perfumes? if this also helps, i’m not really a feminine person so i guess something elegant wouldn’t fit me. i’m more of a androgyn woman, i’d say. (dresses, skirts etc. r a no-go for me, always just button ups/downs, suits etc.😅) my everyday style: band t shirt, ripped fitted jeans, beanies, flannel shirts (or opened button up), converse or doc martens and silver jewelry. also everything in dark colors like black, bloody red, forest green, dark brown etc (i also have piercings & tattoos)
Opium IS my Mum🎉🎉. Angel is my younger sister. Coco Mademoiselle is my older sister🎉.La vie est Belle is me🥳🥳
Tried shalimar on my skin, buy unfortunately definitely leaned to feminine for me. Wonderful scent though.
Lou lou cacherel and tresor lancome.? Should be there
I think the list is missing Kenzo Flower as powdery floral
have them all :)
Not a fan of la vie est belle but I love la vie est belle en rose.
Lol, I just realized that most of the fragrances on this list are the stuff of nightmares for me. Except for Baccarat, that one is heavenly.
Rumor has it, santas bringing me br540...😂
I feel like they changed the formula to Flower Bomb since 2005. It use to be more vanilla. I use to love La Vie est Belle but for some reason it makes me sick.

Alien
I don’t like Baccarat
Chanel 5 has changed it does not smell as it used to
What people say about Chanel no 5 and what I smell are WORLDS APART. I smell an elderly, suffocating, nightmare. I LIVE for a good soapy freshie, I can not stand Chanel no 5. There’s nothing fresh about it. You couldn’t pay me enough money to go around smelling like that.
