Interesting of late that others born on my birthday Chip Foose, Wayne Carini were also born on the 13th of October with the same love. I hope someday I'll be able to see your collection in person. You initially said the Bentley Speed Six has a straight-8 engine. More than one online source says it was a straight-6. Look at the exhaust headers.
