Just because you don't understand a movie, it doesn't mean there wasn't a message behind it. A lot of people underestimate artists like Miike and Pasolini because they don't understand the social commentary or the time period these were made. They have a hell of a lot more meaning behind them than Hollywood today that will do anything to make a profit like The Conjuring or Insidious---even if the movie is shit.

It's really not all that. Over acted, nice effects and filmed in a cool way but it tried to be much more than it is and basically ruins the overall film. If you want a film to check out that's rough to watch instead of horror is Irréversible or I stand alone by the same direction.

Fun fact that isn't fun: they had a mini museum of sorts for a serbian film, and somebody got access to some of the props. He tried to sell it on ebay but ebay banned it, one of which was the iconic baby. The guy had to set up his own website to sell everything, and now the website is gone (or hard to find). This was back in 2018 too 😬

I’ve seen all of these movies, and as someone with both Italian and French ancestry... it really makes a lot of sense as to why I wasn’t fazed by any of them :/

I forgot what it was called but I watched a horror movie with my friends. It had these characters who all took drugs while locked on an island. They had to kill each other bc the drugs made them cannibalistic. It was very graphic. They also had a scene where they locked up two people in a bunch of different cells and ran the drugs on them leaving them to kill each other.

I watched A serbian film a couple of years ago out of curiosity (I didn’t know what the movie was about except that it was considered one of the worst horror movie) and I still regret it to this day. Theres one scene that is still haunting me…

I think the first human centipede is more disturbing. The second one was gross and ridiculous. Just my opinion of course. But the narrator did describe the first movie and show photos from the second one (which was about the deranged security guard who acted on his obsession with seeing the film 'The Human Centipede.' With no surgical expertise, as the guy in the first one had, he performed a very crude and poorly put together centipede.) I rather watch movies like that though since nothing actually bad happens to real actors. Better with movies like the Hills Have Eyes than Cannibal Holocaust.

As Serb, I've seen Serbian film and it's truly sick. It has actors who are iconic to our country and who have movies that I've grow up on. But this movie is truly,the SICKEST movie I have ever seen

I've either seen or own all of these, and yes, they are disturbing. I don't think Pink Flamingos should have made this list though. Divine thought putting dog crap in her mouth for the camera would be funny. It is. A Serbian Film is disturbing because there are people out there who do stuff like that. These movies were made with the intent to evoke reactions of disgust, horror and make us wonder about the depravity outside our normal lives. Go in with the expectation that you're going to be tested or put the remote down.

"The Poughkeepsie Tapes" and the "August Underground" trilogy are also pretty disturbing
