I don’t understand how Ben Askren isn’t on this list. He was an undefeated multiple time world champion outside of the UFC, and now he’s known by most as the guy that got knocked out by Masvidal in five seconds.

It is wild, because, when you consider his whole career, he is ranked significantly better than Conor. He's in the top three lightweights of all time with ease, after Khabib and BJ, when you consider the quality, ranking and consistency of his wins over time. People forget that the best lightweight fighters were scattered across multiple promotions during the late 2000s and early 2010s, and Alvarez was successful and the champion in every single one of the relevant promotions. Meanwhile McGregor had one admittedly incredible run at featherweight, then a gifted title shot at lightweight after getting destroyed by gatekeeper Diaz, which he was able to win. That's literally it. He's maybe top 5-7 at Featherweight and not even top 20 at lightweight.
@llongone2

Not talking about earnings, of course, but as of right now, Alvarez has had a better career than McGregor. Eddie has been a title holder in many fight orgs. with many more wins than Conor. Will Conor even fight again?

Really surprised Nate VS Mcgregor 1 wasn't on this list? Dana literally went from saying "Diaz doesn't move the needle" to outright admitting later "he's a needle-mover now." He went from like, what, 40 and 40 fighting Michael Johnson on the prelims to headlining multiple PPVs? He became an instant star and one of the most recognisable figures in MMA.
@Batman-iu2iv

Great point about being an upset. Although I think the whole needle mover thing is Dana not recognizing the star power of the Diaz brothers. Just look at what USADA did to Nick. The Diaz brothers have been legends the whole time but Dana will only entertain yes men. Edit: I was manager at a Coral at the time and I remember telling all my good customers to bet on Diaz via sub @ 6/1. I told them Conor only loses on the ground and Nate is a wizzard. I still remember the feeling when they all came in to collect the bets.

I feel bad for fighters like Chael and Cowboy. They have ultimately become the clippers of LA. They might be good in the reg season/against top tier opponents, but when it comes to the title shot or big profile fight/playoffs, everyone kind of knew that a choke job was incoming
Ferguson vs Gajthe is a defining moment sadly
Great video...Holly Holm is #1 on this list for me. She's a legend but would likely have been irrelevant in the long run if not for that win over Ronda.
I just watched McGregor vs. Alvarez last night. Great timing!
You also have to give Bisping the EXTRA CREDIT for doing it with only ONE 👁️ . That's right he was blind in his right eye when he won the Belt . You're a SAVAGE BISPING !!! One of the GRATES and hands down one of my top 3 Favorite fighters of all time .

Before he won, the lhw belt was a hot potato where people could barely defend it more then once or twice.

5:55....nice throwback to this fight. I remember watching it live Back in those days, the hidden gem for MMA was HDNet / AxsTv. They used to show Inside MMA with Bas Rutten & Kenny Rice, an hour long MMA news program every Friday night. Then they would show an MMA event from some smaller promotion, and basically every major overseas promotion For non-UFC content, HDNet was amazing. They would air all the Dream, Sengoku, MFC & TKO (from Canada) and even K1 kickboxing events, always live as well
Just enjoy your videos great work keep it up ✌️

Recognizing that he's had a long & storied career, I would argue that Nate Diaz belongs on this list for his submission of the Notorious, at a time when Nate was the only one in the building who wasn't surprised by than outcome.
I don’t care much for McGregor. But the Conor that showed up that night to fight Alvarez was something special. One of the single best MMA performances we’ve ever watched.

I rewatched that fight recently and you're absolutely right. During round two I checked to see if I was watching the right contest. I'd completely forgotten how dull it was at first.
When I think of Chaels fights with Anderson I think of how he dominated the spider and with a very clever move forfeited the last round to go 4-1 and then willingly gave a rematch to go 2-0 with the spider. Greatness
Nice, let's go!
Lolol I died at that coca*ne reference at 2:31
4:55 even worse, that winnover Keith Jardine was highly controversial too. Keith won that fight by all intents too. Bonnar was a tough as nails guy and sadly it clearly began to take it's toll on his pysche late in his career.
Not only proved Jones was human but won the first fight.
1:17 is me! Lol. I took that video after Weidman K.O.'d Silva and the UFC used it for their promotion.

This has to be a multiple-parter because there’s definitely way more that could be talked about. My pick would be Joanna vs. Rose. Joanna was a killer. Undefeated and never really looked threatened. She was the Boogeywoman and for damn good reason. But once Rose put her out in MSG, she never fully recovered. Only two more wins in the rest of her career. Sure, she had some great performances in some of those losses but her aura of dominance and invincibility was was completely shattered by Namajunes.
someone said that you guys are the watchmojo of mma and i can't look at this channel the same
Beating Stipe Miocic really did wonders for DC. It helped stepped out of the shadow of Jon Jones. It put him into the good gracious of the community at a time he was called a fraud. It would cement his legacy as one of the best to step into the cage. And it led up to him being the the first man to defend the LHW and the HW titles at the same time.

Chael said I'm going to put my forehead into his chest, take him to the ground and drop bombs on him for 5 rds. Then he did it. Even Joe Rogan asked between 4-5 is it too early for Chael to take a victory lap? Then the unthinkable happened.

The unthinkable… a gracious, considerate man like Chael who fought his way up from the gutters of West Lynn, Oregon, passed the torch to another man so that he too could elevate himself from the poverty stricken nation of Brazil. Bruh Ben Askren has gotta be at least in the top 3 here. Guy goes undefeated for years at 19-0, seen as the undisputed 170 GOAT outside of the UFC and a big what if on if he could’ve beaten GSP. All of that just to be best known as the guy who got KO’d by Jorge Masvidal’s cuban missile in 5 seconds lol.
