The Christmas Markt of Dresden is also gorgeous. It is the oldest christmas market of Germany and it offers alot of possibilitys. They even have a medieval christmas market at the Castle of Dresden.

I was at the Dresden Christmas market recently, and it was amazing - the wood carved products and food. It reminded me of the markets I visited when I was a little kid growing up in Germany (now live in the US). All locations for these markets are beautiful but what distinguishes them is in what they have to offer in products and food. I was disappointed in the Munich market.

Esslingen Christmas Market in Germany was my favorite out of all the ones that I have visited. Modern at the beginning and then you walk into the Middle Ages. Beautiful and great food
No country can beat Germany when it comes to Christmas markets, Germany is where the Christmas markets are originated.

Krakòw Christmas market is being set up. Opening late pm 27November . 📽Vid " From La to Krakòw" is showing 🏢hotel Wentzl used by myself many times overlooking the Christmas market.🎄🎄 If you afraid of Made in China decorations🎁 - on the square next to Szara restaurant - courtyard Nr 7- fantastic glass baubles from tiny shapes to the pairs in regional costumes.. Produced in the family cottage industry glass factory.

Christmas Market at Gendarmenmarkt 22 November - 31 December 2021 Centrally located at one of the most beautiful squares in Berlin between the German and French Cathedrals on either end and the Concert House in the middle. A truly spectacular setting with above-average food and Christmas offerings.
Valkenburg Holland is one of my favourites. The market is mainly held in the caves in the town. They also hold a parade through the town on a couple of nights each week.

Check out Maastricht and Aachen too at Christmas, just a few kilometres from Valkenburg :)

Love the video but stunned that you didn’t include Nurnberg or Munich. Germany has many great Christmas markets but Nurnberg is King. Having said that, coming from Reno, Nevada as I do, a village market in Germany would probably suffice!

Munich and Luxembourg Christmas Markets are AMAZING and magical. Those cities make beautiful backdrops to the quaint Christmas market stalls. This year we are checking out Frankfurt. I’d love to go to the Edinburgh Christmas Market next year maybe.

We went on a a Christmas market tour around Central Europe, 7 in all in 2019, independently organized by me. My hands down favourite was Riga, Latvia

Yepp, Riga, Latvia is one of my favorites also.
If you really want to see Christmas Markets in Germany - do not stick to popular destinations. Check the ones which are opened only on weekends (like Bad Wimpfen), that are located in villages and small cities. The ones in capitals are made to take your money. The ones in small towns still have the atmosphere of Christmas.

Be wary that Made in China is found in Christmas Markets. Look closely at your ornaments. The Market Food is so good. I was always afraid to drink too much liquid as didn't see Portapottys like in US at fairs and festivals. I had blueberry gluwine in Passau a small market but it was heavenly. Be prepared to walk alot.

Given the price of attendance and the difficulty to get there (ticket + timeframes + transfers). To my mind makes no sense to go there only for this market, but of you combine it with, for example, Freiburg, than maybe.
I am wondering which city is the opening video aerial shot from? The one with the ferris wheel and gothic cathedral.

Wroclaw and Strasbourg has been German and big German minorities. So it is no wonder that this christmas markets are beautiful

Wroclaw is Polish now. It was 70% destroyed in WWII and the Polish rebuilt it with no Marshall Plan money. Germans were kicked out after the war.

Lviv was Polish city given to Ukraine by the Soviets. Would it be fair to say the Christmas market in Lviv is from the Polish? Poland had its whole eastern territory taken and given to Belarus and Ukraine.

the german xmas market in Birmingham seems pretty big and popular!! i personally everything is overpriced!!

Beautiful video, except for the utterly stupid and irritating transition title screens that ruin the mood and video.
Thumbs up on video but the transitions are a bit like being slapped across the face just as I’m falling asleep.

Strasbourg is overrated. Colmar is so much better ! Or you can also go to small villages like Ribeauvillé, Riquewihr and Kaysersberg...

Eger, Hungary had a lovely little Christmas market with even live music, a ferris wheel and lit up angel wings for a photo op.
I clicked on Christmas Markets to see what they would SELL, Not to look at street and people. I could see those anywhere.

My favorite was Salzburg, Austria, then Munich and Nuremberg. Hopefully I'll be back to one next year.
