kinda everything, but my main is a little copy cat, btw advancent smelter and useless? :D bruh ur so wrong, powering with electricity? Nice, better looking? Nice and I will sacrifise that just to build one more wood terrible looking furnace when I don't even need that many smelters :D

I'm at the point where my raft must look like a boat and be shark proof, before I even hit the first story island. Is it time consuming? Yes, but is it so satisfying.

Hey I just found out that I am not only a Overkill but also Copycat 😁will that make me a "Overcat" or "OverCatCopyKill" 😄 But honestly it gets really hard after a while to come up with new ideas, that is why I love to see other people rafts

What about the fleet captain? I build a small raft with everything i need to start with so i can stock supplies, then i build separate dedicated rafts alongside and behind it, like a fleet. one is for my critters (sometimes a separate raft for each, sometimes just a giant barn raft) , one for the farming and trees and bee (again sometimes i separate these too), one for storage and crafting and the original usually gets turned into a decked out homely boat with food and cooking facilities. Sometimes I use ziplines to make it look like im tugging some of the other rafts. My friend always build towns. Think Utopia but much smaller scale and very freeform. A bunch of separate rafts with walkways to each area and each house is a different theme

You forgot about the chaotic neutral rafters, who just discovered the detail plank and decide to break the whole game with it.

The advanced smelter is awesome. Load all the ores and unload all the ingots by clicking on any part of the machine. No more hunt the pixel crap!

I think a big advantage of the advanced smelter is you no longer need to shovel planks to smelt, you can just build a turbine and get unlimited wind powered smelting, saving your planks for building

same with the Electric Grill and Water Purifier, i just prefer batteries to anything else

I love the eletric smelter. 3 slots for 8 less Bricks? NO PLANKS? Thats very useful for my 1200 foundation raft

advanced smelters aren't useless... using battery, which is infinitly renewable, rather then wood, which isn't, is a decent enough benefit if you ask me

Just started playing Raft recently and I am so obsessed. Your videos are my favourite I've found so far! Keep up the great work :)

I'm an Eclectic. An example is I started out as a copycat. I copied one of your starter rafts actually. Then I added on. Now it is a bit larger, not quite Tiny, but still only a 2 engine raft. Some areas I have upgraded, others I have left as the starter wood. I do like to grow things, but more to have greenery around than to harvest. I would like to show off my acomplishments, but not to the collecter's degree. However, I would like to have a raft with a better kitchen, though I do have all the items needed to do all, even if only one of each. However learning about all the various types does help to put into perspective what I really like and focus on when I'm not getting stuff or off exploring. Thank you for taking the time to show this, and other videos you have done that have helped make the experience ever so much better!

Hey Alidove, I enjoy your videos :) What about the "super efficient min max optimizer": Running her raft on exactly 100 foundations, featuring 28 collection nets, every room and storage is measured so it exactly fits its purpose. The pipes are kept as few as possible, every animal gets exactly one tile of grass and so on and so forth xD Totally not me of course, I just...... "heard" there are some people that play like this ;)

The advanced smelter can smelt 3 ores, but takes up only 2 spaces, whereas the original smelter would need to take up 3. It smelts items much quicker and when paired with the advanced battery, it lasts long that wood does. If anything, the new biofuel refiner is useless

I am totally the copy cat. Special right now. Haven't played for long and my little brother has basically told me I need to learn to build while he gathers supplies and fights the shark 😂 he ain't doing it. He just builds faint flat floating T's and I am always complaining that there isn't enough space on a one by one T. Love you love your channel that I just found last night it really helps a lot.

I remember when creative mode still had islands.

And another type, or more like the engineer sub-type - factorio player. He`s obsessed with total automatization of producing all resources in the game. His main goal is to turn his raft into giant factory, that produces all kind of game resources without his presence, or with a minimum of it. If you can`t automatize the producing of biofuel, then make 1000 refiners, 50 crop plot farms, 1000 beehives and minimize your time for pouring all this resouces to refiners. Hopes, that one day devs will add all the machines to automatize every aspect of the game to 100%. Also, can`t live without conveyors and arm manipulators.

Yeah, I'm definitely a copycat off of this one. I tend to try to take existing ideas and mold them to my own style of play. Like I tried doing the pirate ship but found that I don't like trying to see past all of the sails and rigging to see where I'm going, so my raft now looks like something off of the Deadliest Catch than it does from Pirates of the Caribbean.

I would describe myself as the improvisor, basically build what I can, where I can, when I can, when I need it, even if it means overlooking more advanced machines for the sake of convenience

Then I'm in a category of myself :D Closest is a mix of the Magician and the Tiny Raft. My focus is livable efficiency for two persons, function over looks. Can easily be expanded for more peoples. Have posted it on my Steam page and official Raft forum, a year ago. I have played (now and then) since beta of the game. Latest version have been slightly modified to fit the newest machinery and such. A second engine can just be added behind the first.

Those were amazing and inspiring me to go out there to build something wonderful!

Seeing the engineer part with al the automation makes my head go 'Ooga Booga Automation No More Work YAY!'

I'm a "build your own floating island" builder that has a bit of everything on it. My own personal Utopia. Lower level is all engineer, 2nd level is gardening and a zoo, with houses built as a village on that floor. All it needs are villagers.

My style is Commitment Issues / builder / optimizer. I've rebuilt my entire raft from scratch 3 times in one save, with each rebuild iterating on the last both aesthetically to incorporate new machines and rooms in more efficient layouts while also getting progressively bigger. Next rebuild will incorporate chapter 3 machines and the bulk of it will be built on spaced out foundations with floor supported by triangle walls to save on fuel and still have a lot of surface space to build up from Downside is how much time I've spent farming resources to recoup the amount I've lost disassembling. 60+ hours in (lots of afk tho) and yet to start chapter 3, but I'm having a lot of fun with the building and iteration aspect so its worth it.

Im doing my first major raft world rn and i have built a pretty large yacht which is mostly a curator/engieneer build. You should probably add a hotel owner to the list becuase i have made rooms and a dinning room for my possible visiting friends

I've just gotten into tiny rafting, but I'm also a bit of a mechanic, so I haven't quite gotten down to the size of the one you showed yet.

tiny raft i love it

One of mine looks like Noah's Ark. Another looks like a battleship. The bigger, the better! Then there's one that is raised above the original 4 foundations, with just those 4 on the water. And, let's make an octopus with paths leading out from one to multiple ones and on to more and more. There's also one with a jogging path going as far as you can build with little stop overs along the way. Also, one with many disconnected platforms, as they just don't float away when not connected. "Let's Game It Out" has planted seeds everywhere, lol. Now, let's see how high we can build, all balanced on the original 4 foundations. The Mississippi River Boat is good, too. Why not build a whole floating city with apartments? Put a big park in the center for the animals. There's lots of ideas! Another looks like a spiral going as far as your computer will let you. You can keep the whole thing on the water or raise it up like a giant funnel. Make your own radio tower or domed city. Did you know you can fish through the floor? Also, you can drop anchor through the floor; no need for a hole.

My raft always ends up resembling a steamship with a long, skinny house on top instead funnels and a superstructure.

At this point I'll just say a Jack of all trades is what I am. Big collection net in the front with just about everything crammed into a small place. 10 furnaces for mass smelting, 2 walls of chests. All pushed along by 2 engine's since 1 won't cut it

With regards to the mechanic category I'm going to turn my raft into nautical factorio and no one can stop me

True to life? It's where you study real life floating vessels and adapt them as much as possible into Raft. I wound up with a beautiful paddlesteamer that way.

mechanic. I'm definitely mechanic. I enjoy making automation in the games I play. I even create schematics of my designs. At the moment, I'm focusing on a different game making an auto sorter that's got a lot of features. Once I'm done that, I'll get measurements for every item in Raft and the start mapping out how I want it to look. Then I'll start at chapter one and discover the whole story, even the two chapters I've already played.

Um... Personally I think building and consuming based the healthiest choices among the most abundant resources to is ethical and admirable. Like using renewable energy vs increasingly rare fossil fuels? Making something that suits me with those materials always brings inspiration from others and sense of appreciation in myself. ¡Win + Win!

Missing "the cheater." Wants to pay the game in the most casual way possible

I'm a simple builder in most games, i like to build cozy smaller scale builds with function and aesthetics in mind. i am also really just a survival builder so building crazy big boats and such is not my thing. Im not new to raft, but i am newer to the building mechanics. im taking things slow and figuring it all out as i go. My current save has a raft with an emphasis on function and simple survival more than anything right now, but my old save before chapter three had a really cute little boat build. i tried to steer away from that this time bcs i wanted to try something new but what can i say, i like the boat thing, so i might go back to it. the closest one in this video would be newbie, but it isnt exactly accurate. sorta newbie to building but not to the game.

I may or may not have a dedicated engine room that's so full of pipes it's impossible to move around it, as well as a sprinkler for every type of cropplot hooked up via piping (that's three levels up)

I just wish I could hook my machines dirrectly into the generators rather than having to constantly switch batteries.

What about the type that starts a building project and gets bored halfway through?

I'm the: "I have this idea in mind" so the raft will always look strange, and half build. like that drawing of a horse with one beautiful section and nothing on the other half, or ugly looking. At least until I get the materials to complete my final vision. SO it might take a bit of time until I reach the final stage of the project, but of I could make one of those fast speed movies and show the growth of the raft from simple to the final project, it would kinda look like a real life video of house building in just a week

I feel kinda called out on the curator, but I am a completionist. I also have a separate save that is island bound, it's a resort I built for myself. Considering I built the resort before chapter 3, I should probably build a better one with more stuff.

I'm on a marathon watching your stuff while playing The Final Chapter myself, some stuff I actually had no idea didn't even "exist" (looking at you pet rock, bad rock!) Well, I would have a suggestion I'm not sure if you do these kinds of videos but I love the Vending Machines and their decorations for my raft, but I always struggle to get Vending Tokens efficiently, maybe a step by step guide on where to go in Tangaroa (after you played through it, maybe even with the better Zipline Tool?) on how to get the approx. 33~ tokens? It's probably not really efficient. I guess farming Temperence / Utopia might be better, but well, that's all I wanted to say Thanks for all the effort you put in your videos, inspirational to say the least Greetings from germany, - V.

Funny vid, you missed one though.. the "played the game already during beta testing" this person starts a new game, floats until the raft gets stuck on the first island, dupes materials, builds an anchor, dupes materials, ends up with a raft made of collection nets, floating floors and a walkway back to the island, but has only floated 200 meters

So I am not a raft builder that fits into one category for this video. I am a completionist, I take elements from the curator, animal lover, and mechanic. As well as haveing a raft that is designed to be infinitely expandable. so if you wanted to make a raft city you could, I can't because I don't have enough friends.

Will raft get any more updates? I know the story is done but I do love the replay ability of it

Theoretically we will continue to get updates. Not exactly sure what they'll contain, but the devs confirmed that they're not done working on Raft

@@louis5668 Oh, right on. I was just watching some older videos and this guy was playing on creative and it was just like regular, except he literally built his raft around an island in creative. I guess they removed all that stuff years ago, so I'm late to the game, LOL.

You might wanna make a second video based on the comments >< Here's another one: The Perfectionist. Which is what I am. Started out as a collector, moved over to copycat, then botanist, now perfectionist. Am building a mega structure, basically a floating island at this point. Think Waterworld style from Kevin Kostner :p And I'm trying to get every detail just right :p Keep up the video's - loving 'm! :)

i know what i would call my self but i also don't know if there is a better way to put it. i would say i am an automating aesthetic collector and hoarder i built a standers 2d boat shape then added a 3x5 caben and decorated it i have a small garden(small enuf to be watered by 1 sprinkler) i made a kitchen/dining room(2cook pots a mixer and a BBQ with a table and chair) my animals have most of the space tword the back bottom of the ship for them self's and there is a tree farm(2pins, 2 banana, and 2 palm trees watered by sprinkler) there are a total of 8 furnaces on my second floor with the radar/steering bees, water tank and bio fuel production for my 4 fuel tanks to power my 6 engens(3 on ether side of my ship. i went for the old steam paddle boat look.) and on the very top floor i have the sail(for emergency use) and a wind turbine every thing is piped up. even managed to only use 1 water purifyer.

@@wann... You can't use the WASD keys if that's what you mean. You'll have to click on every single button on the panel to move the crane. It's annoying, but that's just how the game is

Going to admit to being part of the copycat and cheapskate, but also enjoy the tiny rafter life, too.

Advanced Smelter is useless? Pardon me?

I do love to build the magic carpet rafts, but I don't take it that far, I like my nets, water purifiers, and engines. I've found about 25 foundations is great for a huge raft with 2 engines, 2 water purifiers, an anchor, and a row of nets. A normally 300 foundation size raft can run at full speed magically floating on 25. But lately I've been going for nice looking ships and boats, then playing through just to see what they look like at the various islands. I use some of the speed run bybasses to get to the next story island. I've done the rhino shark 3 times, don't need to ever do it again. Been trying to build a ship that looks like a WWII aircraft carrier, but not having much luck. Each time I go bigger it does look closer to the real thing, I'm thinking I'll have to make it the size of a real one for it to look good in Raft...
