10 MISTAKES I’VE MADE PORTAGING A Canoe in the Boundary Waters

This video I share mistakes I have made portaging a canoe while canoe camping. I camp mostly in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota, but this video will be helpful for any canoeist or canoe camping person. Mistakes are inevidible and will hopefully not deter us from doing hard things. I have grown to love portaging, even difficult ones. Share your portaging tips in the comments!
I camp and hike in and around the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. I also guide Boundary Waters Retreats! In the Superior National Forest, in Northern Minnesota. And anywhere else I can venture to! I love sharing the journey with you all.

You're pronouncing portage wrong. It should rhyme with garage. 😀

It seems that most Canadians pronounce it portage (rhyming with garage), while Americans pronounce it as she does. Either is correct…just like my wife says tomotoe and I say tomato….ironically, she agrees with my pronunciation of potato. Nice video Jodi. :-)
