I truly believe that if he had a perfect team built around him when he was in his athletic prime in 2017, he could win you a championship. If that Russ had a reliable 2nd option, 3&D guys, a P&R and a stretch big plus a good coach then his team would've definitely competed for a championship.

I hate that saying “his game is not gonna win any chips” no one persons skill is gonna lead a team to a championship it’s a team effort a team has to be good enough to win a championship not his “game” no one says that for other point guards like CP3 or DAME who both have way less career achievements and neither have been to the finals. Russel westbrook does not have a title because he hasn’t been on a team that was good enough to win.

@@javonmcquay8219 exactly bro, he just been in the tough western conference his whole career, literally had to face a prime Dallas team in 2011, prime heat team in 2012, prime Grizzlies team in 2013, prime spurs team 2014, KD was hurt in 2015 missed playoffs and den had to face a 73 win warriors team in 2016 (choked, but almosted made it) den 2017 Russ literally had nobody carried OKC to 47 wins. Next 2 years was just his teams having bad benches. Like most of the losing wasn’t even his fault. Just the organization not having a good enough team for him from 2017-2019.

westbrook was maybe still is someone they should have build around, they had jeremy grant, schroder and steven adams a pretty good core that just needed some 3 pt shooting but they traded him away and then traded that whole group up to rebuild. that was a little premature imo. wouldve been a deep team. lets be honest noone was beating the warriors so they shouldve kept that group til the warriors broke up literally a year later.
