10 Minutes Before Fajr by Ustadh Saad Tasleem
One of the things that psychologists often discuss is that nights are usually considered a spiritual time. And this why you see, when people go out on dates and stuff like that, when do they usually go out? During the day or at night? So people are more likely to be in touch with their spiritual side and their feelings and their emotions and what Islam does is that it takes advantage of this time. A believer takes that spiritual time, and they take that emotional time and they devote it to their Lord. And one of the things that the scholars often talk about is that the night is a testimony of a person's love. So whatever a person loves, you'll see that they usually devote their night to that. So is a person's only concern in life is to have fun, and party, and maximize pleasure, they'll spend their night trying to do that. If a person's concern is their afterlife and their love for Allah, then they will spend their night in concern about their Akhirah (hereafter), and they will spend their night devoted to Allah ('azza wa jal) as Allah ('azza wa jal) said, '...wallazeena 'aamanooo 'ashaddu hubbal-lillaah...' (2:165) -- 'That those who believe, they're stronger in their love for Allah ('azza wa jal). And one of the things that is often said by the classical scholars and even scholars of our time, is that if we want to rectify this ummah, if we wanna change, if we really really care about this ummah, we really want to change this ummah, then we will not be able to do it except that which changed the beginning of this ummah. Then we have to look at the Sunnah of the Prophet [ﷺ] and how the companions did it, and it is in that, that we are gonna find our ummah come to life...and the thing about the companions, like I mentioned is that, what they had, and what is missing from our time, is that, that attribute of going above and beyond the bare minimum. A lot of times, people whom start practicing Islam, they'll have this imaan high and they're doing really really well and then a time will come where they'll be like, 'you know, it just doesn't feel the same anymore.' Or a lot of times, reverts and converts will say, 'When I first became Muslim, it was the most amazing experience of my life, and I want that back. I want that experience back. And one of the first questions I ask these people is, 'How is your connection with Allah? How is your Qiyamul-Layl? When was the last time you got up in the middle of the night, or the last third of the night to pray to your Lord? When it comes to Qiyamul-Layl, one of the advices I often give and I give this advice because this was the advice that was given to me by my teachers is if you want to pray Qiyamul-Layl, all you have to do is just try it. And I'm not talking about spending a third of the night praying or half of the night praying, I'm saying get up 10 minutes before Fajr, just 10 minutes before Fajr. And we know that the Prophet [ﷺ] told us that it is the last third of the night where Allah ('azza wa jal) comes down to the lowest parts of the heaven and he asks, he says, 'which one of my servants is seeking for my forgiveness? That I may forgive them' and 'Which one of my servants is seeking my mercy that I may be merciful for them? Which one of my servants is asking of me, that I may give to them?' and that, that third of the night is still there in the last 10 minutes before Fajr.

For those who seem a bit confused about the 10 mins before fajir. A good way to achieve this is wake up 30 mins before Fajir. Then let's say it will take 10 or less mins to wake up, wash up and make wudu. And now you have probably 15-20mins left before Fajir, which means you can easily fit 2 rakah of Tahajjud, and even prolong your sujud and make dua to Allah s.w.t. I tried this and it worked for me Alhamdulellah. May Allah make it easy on us and allow us to always do it. Ameen

Is it 10 minutes before Fajr or 10 minutes before the Azaan of Fajr ? In my area, Fajr azaan is given almost half an hour before the prayers.

+Hyperhits maybe just maybe, that your local fajr azan which is given half an hour before the prayer is to wake people up, like we know, that two muadzin of rasul, both of them did azan twice, the first one is to wake up people and the second time to calling for prayer

I will have been Muslim for a year on the 9th of next month and can still remember how emotional my public Shahada in the mosque was and how it moved so many people to tears. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed and other times I am at peace. I am learning so much that I did not know and being hard on myself does not help either. Either way, this is the journey I have chosen and Inshallah I will see it through and be guided rightly until I am called home. I am just beginning to grasp fajr during this Ramadan. Thank you for this video. This and many of your videos have proven inspiring to me and a great help. Brothers and Sisters, I love you all. May the peace, blessings, and protection of Allah be upon all of us. Ameen.

Alhamdoellilah brother, that night prayer changed my life... In the night prayer I ask to make my relationship of 9years an relation that is excepted by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala because I converted, a year later my woman converted and it didn't stop with that, I asked for my mother to become Muslim, every night again and again, and my mother became a Muslim while she is in a very ill state, she has MS and she told me, why become Muslim I can't pray because she can't get up, she can't get out off bed by herself because she can't move. So I asked Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala make her heart believe that she can do it. And alhamdoellilah he did it... And brothers and sisters I'm am not even close to a good example, I TRY to pray 5times a day, I jell at my woman, I need to ask forgiveness everyday for stupid things, and look Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives it to me my wife and my mother, subhana'allah !! I want to stretch this because believe me I am no good, not even an descent example...

So I ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala why... Why are you givin all this to me, why am I getting al this wonders... I do not understand, but I made a promise... I told Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, my lord you know me better than everything else, sweeten my tongue... I keep begging and begging and LOOK, if you come to my house you'll see, he gives me, and I say it again I am not even close to a good example, and still he gives. I promised him swt that I'm always going to do the fajr and time before that to come to a close contact to the lord. Alhamdoellilah brothers and sisters, do the night prayer and you'll get everything. And even if you don't get it when you want it... Maybe it's Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala who WANTS TO HEAR YOUR VOICE !!! because maybe he doesn't hear your voice quiet often so he wants to hear it more and more inshallah. My Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala guide us all and makes us among the righteous people off the world inshallah...

I KNOW BETER !! he created us that his merciful aspect can manifest in the world, his mercy is pointless in the heavens. It's never to laid to come back because you're still breathing, and stil reading this commend so there is still a change to make that live changing change inshallah my dear brothers and sisters...

+Aisha Tasnim no lie dear sister, Fajr changed everything in my life.. If I do Fajr and take my time for it insha'allah I noticed that the day goes by easily.. My sleep pattern is better even do I need to get up at 4 to do Fajr, en that sleep again until 6 a clock.. There was a long time when I only prayed Fajr, now Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala learned me to do all prayers alhamdoelillah.. Try it for a couple of weeks insha'allah you will notice it by yourself, the energy released from this prayer is enormous. And dear brothers and sisters it only takes you 10minutes to do the prayer + the sunnah prayer insha'allah. Look at the mercy off Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he doesn't ask for much, and for what he asks isn't beneficial for him swt it's only good for us... The tafsir from surah al Fatiha is divided between servant and Lord.. The best supplication is the one that leaves everything for what it is to worship his Lord.. Allah swt will lift your status in a manner you could never dream of

Brother there is something unique about the night prayer and also the fajr salah. If one prays fajr at the masjid, you can feel the peace in your heart. Wallahi, the rest that the heart gets after you pray fajr is phenominal. There is a unique feeling in it. The moment you pray it and walk back to your home in the dawn, have no words no express how beautiful it is. I havent found anything more peaceful for the heart than fajr salah.

Easiest way to jannah: Abu Umaamah (RA) narrated that: The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Whoever reads “Ayatul-Kursi” [Qur’an 2:255], after every obligatory prayer, nothing prevents him from entering Paradise except death (i.e. that he is still alive).” (An-Nasaa’ee, Ibn Hibbaan - Sahih) MEANING: The explanation of this Hadith is that such a person is guaranteed Jannah, Innshaa Allaah. However, this applies as long as that particular person does not commit any major sin without seeking repentance for it. In such a case this guarantee will not apply.

For most people, it's been said that when it's Fajr time to pray, the shaitan and his assistants jumps on a soul and forces him to go back to sleep & not worship his creator. This has happened to me to the extend where I had my alarm clock on and my adhan reminder, but I was weak to get up. I did some studying and noticed that if your committed and true to your own soul then you will get up, but if your not dedicating yourself to serve Allah then may Allah help you. At the end, everyone answers for their own on judgement. Make your imam strong. Knock that blanket out early in the morning and fight the shaitan to get up and pray to your creator. Asalam mulikum

Dear brothers and sisters, there are real lovely advice here from people's own experience. I think it's lovely to share them with others so we are reminded we are not perfect, and how making changes benefits us. We all are human beings in the end of the day. And we get lost in life, we get lazy, and the knock on effect it has on one is a result of it. It's also good to hear the beauty in our prayers being answered, a beautiful reminder that Allah is infinite in His ways and we can never fathom how much He can bestow on us. Pls forgive me if I said anything wrong. All praises to Allah if it's been beneficial.

To Mahmoud Handy. Asalaamalaykom Brother. You said you're 11 years old right? MachaAllah. Brother you can try to do it ones during the first week, twice during the second week, three timed during the third week then keep it at 3 times a week for awhile . pick your days too. If you can go further it is even better . the more the better blessings you'll get from Allah my brother. You are the future of this ummah . you can do it. No fear . you have to conquer your fear in order to conquer every obstacle that life will impose upon you. Because life will be full of tests & hardships my little brother....I don't want you to be scared. I want you to be ready. I believe in your ability to do so. Because if someone else can do it then ( you can ) do it as well. That's how world records are broken especially in sports for example. You are so much stronger than you think. When I was your age I was a week boy. I worked so hard then I became one of the strongest guys around machaAllah. But I worked at it . it didn't just happened. Same thing for prayer. I had problems getting up then I found out that 10 MNS before fajr prayer is very important for making Dua & everything..... Brother you have to be like a true soldier . Religion + Discipline = Superiority of a man's personality and makes you a Conquerer of your own fear....(( SATIN )) wants you to be lazy & fearful.... Let's not allow him that. Let's nock the hell out of him & be a solid Muslim like Omar ibno khattaab ( one of prophet Mohammed's disciples ) whom the devil him self was so afraid of. because Omar was feared & respected by everyone HUMINS & JINNS. Due to his conquering nature as a human being & as a pious Muslim man.

Praise be to Allaah. Qiyaam al-layl means spending the night, or part of it, even if it is only one hour, in prayer, reading Qur’aan, remembering Allah (dhikr) and other acts of worship. It is not stipulated that it should take up most of the night. It says in Maraaqi al-Falaah: What is meant by qiyaam is spending most of the night in worship, or it was said: spending one hour of it, in reading Qur'aan, listening to hadeeth, glorifying Allah (tasbeeh) or sending blessings upon the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). End quote. Al-Mawsoo‘ah al-Fiqhiyyah al-Kuwaitiyyah, 34/117. Tahajjud means specifically praying at night, and some scholars limited it to prayers that are offered at night after sleeping. Al-Hajjaaj ibn ‘Amr al-Ansaari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: One of you thinks that if he gets up at night and prays until morning comes that he has done tahajjud. But in fact tahajjud means praying after sleeping, then praying after sleeping. That is how the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah upon him) prayed. Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar said in al-Talkhees al-Habeer (2/35): Its isnaad is hasan; it includes Abu Saalih, the scribe of al-Layth, and it is somewhat weak. It was also narrated by al-Tabaraani, whose isnaad includes Ibn Luhay‘ah, whose report is supported by the one that came before it. End quote. Thus it becomes clear that qiyaam al-layl is more general than tahajjud, because it includes prayer and other actions, and it includes prayer before and after sleeping. But tahajjud is exclusively praying, and there are two opinions concerning it. The first is that it means praying at any time of the night, which is the view of the majority of fuqaha’. The second is that it is prayer after sleeping. See: al-Mawsoo‘ah al-Fiqhiyyah, 2/232. Al-Qurtubi (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his commentary on the verse (interpretation of the meaning): “And in some parts of the night (also) offer the Salaah (prayer) with it (i.e. recite the Qur’aan in the prayer) as an additional prayer (Tahajjud optional prayer Nawâfil) for you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). It may be that your Lord will raise you to Maqâm Mahmûd (a station of praise and glory, i.e., the honour of intercession on the Day of Resurrection)” [al-Isra’ 17:97]: Tahajjud comes from hujood, which is doing one thing and the opposite, it so the word hajada may mean he slept or it may mean he stayed up at night, which are opposites. Tahajjud means waking up after sleeping, and it became a name for prayer, because the individual wakes up for it. So tahajjud means getting up to pray at night. This meaning was given by al-Aswad, ‘Ilqimah, ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn al-Aswad and others. Ismaa‘eel ibn Ishaaq al-Qaadi narrated from the hadeeth of al-Hajjaaj ibn ‘Amr, the Companion of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah upon him) that he said: Does one of you think that if he gets up and spends the entire night in prayer that he had prayed tahajjud? Rather tahajjud is praying after sleeping, then praying after sleeping, then praying after sleeping. This is how the Messenger of Allah (blessing and peace of Allah be upon him) prayed. And it was said tahajjud means sleep, as it is said in Arabic, Tahajjada al-rajul, meaning the man stayed up, and alqa al-hujood, i.e., sleep. And the one who gets up to pray is called mutahajjid. End quote from Tafseer al-Tabari, 10/307. Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: What is the difference between Taraweeh, Qiyaam and Tahajjud? Please advise us, may you be rewarded. He replied: Prayer at night is called tahajjud or qiyaam al-layl, as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And in some parts of the night (also) offer the Salaah (prayer) with it (i.e. recite the Qur’aan in the prayer) as an additional prayer (Tahajjud optional prayer Nawâfil) for you” [al-Isra’ 17:79] “O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)! 2. Stand (to pray) all night, except a little” [al-Muzzammil 73:1-2] “They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allaah) and praying, with fear and hope]” [al-Dhaariyaat 51:17]. With regard to Taraweeh, the scholars use this word to refer to qiyaam al-layl in Ramadan at the beginning of the night, which should be made light and not lengthy. It may also be called tahajjud or qiyaam al-layl. And Allah is the source of strength. End quote from Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, 11/317.

How how how can a person get dressed Go toilet if needed And do ablution By the time all that Is done Then almost 10 min is done and it's Time for fjr beginning.... Tru tru... Absolute crazy honest..... Realistically a person shud get up 30/40 before if they wana pray tahadjud ( qiyam layL)
