Even though I’m not a content creator, I totally understand what you’re saying about burnout! Teacher workload is insane and I find myself coming home from teaching music all day at school, to teaching piano from home, to then sit at my computer and try to keep up with my planning and everything I didn’t get to during the day! We appreciated the many hours your videos take to create and we thank you sincerely for your efforts. Take care of you and your family now. We look forward to seeing you soon 🎶

Your content got me through some really tough times during the pandemic and beyond when I really felt empty as a teacher. You filled my cup! Now it’s time for you to fill your family bucket. Thank you for all your tremendous work and love on your family with the same passion and dedication you poured into this content.

My students love all of your videos and would get sad when there weren't new ones and had to keep reminding them that he's got a life too and other stuff to do (they get upset when my PowerPoints aren't as fancy as they usually are, but I tell them the same thing). You do you when you want to so you don't resent the joy it brings you!

Congrats on your huge milestone and bravo to you for making this decision. In addition to teaching and "dabbling" in making videos, I ran a side business that was taking up a tremendous amount of time and keeping me from my children. I totally appreciate your decision because I am now finding myself with time for my family and ME! Enjoy!

Thank you for this valuable work. I teach special needs students, and this has given me a bridge to reach students for whom traditional notation was a massive barrier. Music is reaching more students at my school because of you. Enjoy the family time!

Love all your content. The next thing you ask? What I need is a way to unravel the spaghetti. All of your Halloween videos are stupendous, but I don’t know the order in which to teach them so they all progress sequentially and yet all fit together meaningfully with sequenced instruction. So I need a spaghetti fork to unravel chihuahua, skeletons, backpacks, egg shakers…. TIA!

I get it and I've been there with a different form of creating. It really feels seasonal to me. Like, I could do this after teaching all day for 5 hours a night but in this next season I'm going to do it a couple of times a month. In the next season of life maybe I'll chase a new creative endeavor. Finding balance seems elusive at times, but knowing yourself and being able to make this decision is the right first step. Your work has been crazy impactful in my classroom. I'm estimating about 2000 students or so since I found you. You deserve to be paid for it. I would gladly pay for a subscription or Patreon or whatever seems like the right choice for you in the future and I bet I'm not alone. Thank you so much for the awesome library of material that my students BEG for each week!

Tyler, really respect your perspective on what you’ve accomplished and where you want to go. I think as teachers we want to do the next thing for others but forget what to do for ourselves. You mentioned the evolution of your platform. I hope you could become a music conference (TMEA, ILMEA) presenter. Inspiring teachers who inspire students. That would be cool! Good luck on all you do. You are a great person.
