I was cracking up listening to the blown out speakers and laughed harder when it got discombobulated after the bonus. I was playing an old three reel machine and got a nice $1200 line hit. Instead of a “call attendant” message, it just spit out a $1200 ticket and I avoided being taxed.

It's like on some of these classics, I expect to see duck-tape! :) but I took the wooziness of the machine as a good sign and so glad I did, hah! :) That's really, really interesting with regard to the $1200 hit that you experiencing as I'm sure some law was violated and they could be fined, but instead you got to feel like a having a nice visit up North: "Relaxing, not taxing!" Best billboard ever!

Yeah, it's funny how every now and then certain situations arise that are truly Unicorns!

Played this game at Paris in Las Vegas. Max bet was $2.50. During the bonus I got 4 mermaids on the last 4 reels...I don't know how but it equaled $3700 total...great machine.

I wish we could have seen some of the pays on those two-mermaid respins. Wow. $4-500 on that last one was just incredible. I reallllyyy wish we had this game near me. Do you know if any of the "northeastern" casinos in the state have this? I'll be visiting them in March.

And funny thing, I don't have the instructions for this one but will get them the next time I visit a particular establishment. Curious myself, and also for the 4 and 5 symbol hits! Seems like the ideal would be to land 3 mermaids and then the 4th on the respin as I assume if you landed 4 on the initial spin, you don't get a respin! And sadly, I do not. I tend to frequent the Midwest and Biloxi, for the most part! Any casino with the classics though, you'll have a good shot finding this one!

This used to be one of my favorite old school games. Your machine sounded like it was on its last legs but as long as it pays out who cares, right? I once played this for the $.25 minimum bet and got a bonus of 1000 X. I think I had three mermaids in the middle. Congrats on your fabulous win and thanks for showcasing these old games that are getting harder and harder to find!

I think this shows why you like betting big. I find fun to always switch bets randomly. Glad the slot didn't go defective. One odd fear I have when I'm winning big is that I won't get paid out due to malfunction. Thanks for posting and keep winning!

Well it certainly shows why I like to Progressive Bet, as triggering the bonus at the Top Bet is just oh so satisfying! :) And yeah, I hear you with respect to the malfunction: that said, I've never had a machine crash and not ultimately recover. Most(all?!) non-payment stories I've heard are for situations where the individual truly should not have been paid, for example if the machine's Top Award was $5k and it said the person won $1 million, and the person then complained saying they were entitled to the $1 million, which they are not.

@@Thebigpayback I've had a machine malfunction by not paying out a line hit on class 2 Buffalo Extreme at San Manuel Casino in CA. It shows the win but not in the win box. The tech came out and opened it up. Seeing nothing with the hardware, he had to reprogram the machine. I wished I had video the process. I've never seem so many pages of computer tables on a slot before. Fortunately, it was fixed and then the win paid out. I've seen news about thoses phony wins. You'd think people would know what's fair/right. Thanks!

Some older slot and vp machines will automatically spit out a ticket for your win when total credits exceed $1200. Not necessarily a $1200 win, just $1200 or more displayed on the machine. Had this happen to me recently when I had $270 in and hit a $1000 royal flush on an old, and I mean old, upright machine. The machine instantly spit out the $1000 win and left the $270 as credits.

Now that you mention it, I think I do recall this happening before and you are of course correct! Generally speaking, now that I think about it, even though I love these classics many times I only find them with modest max bets and as I usually start with maybe $100 or $200, it would be a very rare experience to crest $1200 unless scoring a Jackpot, which would mean like a 400x win, which of course would be quite rare. Even still, the "tilt" that it did was still quite odd! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

Sometimes on old aristocrat machines , after the bonus it flashes with each spin from the bonus. Happens all the time to me on tiki torch after a 5.00 bet

They make noise for almost every win no matter how small but sometimes you will get a 2x win and the machine goes silent. Noticed on like 5 different old arostocrat machines

Older machines will do that because they cant cash out a ticket past either 1200 or 1400 i forget which i remember a lady had about 1100 in a 50 lions game and it kept spitting out tickets worth 300 every time she went over a certain amount

Very interesting! Now, certain casinos in Canada will create a Handpay when you win, say, over $400 or so: I've experienced that. I think it's a way to keep the attendants busy, hah!

Harrah's Biloxi as I recall!

No, this one was in a standard casino in Biloxi - not exactly sure why it did why it did although some suggested some older units were programmed this way - I expect a configurable option of sorts? Thanks for watching and commenting!
