I will help you out on that since I have my own LFL in my front yard. What you need to do to get more people to show up is stick some candy inside during those types of holidays most recently Easter. That gets the kids to show up to mine more often.

@@auntbess3238 I only put candy in my library during the cooler seasons like Halloween, Christmas and Easter. I don't get ants in my library cause I have weather stripping all around the inside of my door.

We had a little free library in our neighborhood and when I nannied I also would use it as encouragement for LONG walks. Then I would just go to the thrift store and stock up on sweet kids books to refill it. It was always such a highlight of walks to get to choose a new book for the wee ones (and taught responsibility since they had to carry their own books home 😂)

That's awesome that you were a nanny too. Yeah, I love finding books for the kiddos in them too.

Yay, I love Little Free Libraries! I actually have one in my yard, and I also do Little Free Library tour videos when we travel. Free books, what's not to love? And a lot of them are so cute!

Wow! You have a lot of LFL's in your area. There's one in my town and that's 20 minutes away. yeah, the ants are gros. It could be worse. But if I ever put up a LFL, I want it to be as wonderful as your #3 Dr. Seuss box. That one was amazing!

Tales of the city is wonderful. I also organize the libraries! A wonderful lady in our community organized a food pantry along the lines of the libraries. " Give what you can, take what you need" it is housed in a giant kitchen cupboard and has lasted throughout the pandemic.

I can't help myself with the organizing. I just want them to look appealing for the next person. Of course most of these didn't have a great selection, but different readers like different books. Maybe someone will find a gem. I have seen a couple LFLs around here become mini food pantries as well. I think that's a wonderful idea!

Love how she literally organises all the LFL. That would be so me. Ahahah!

That's awesome! My walking distance ones are quite spread out but I do like to check on them every now and then. The ones in this video are much farther from my house.

I have quite a few little free libraries within walking distance so when it’s nice I’ll fill up a backpack and look fo books I’ve been doing pretty good leaving the house with 5 or 6 books and coming home with 5 or 6 new books.Even found a copy of the Nightingale which I grabbed since everyone raves about it.

It made me sad seeing the sign about the Beagle passing at #3. My dog is half Beagle and turned 2 on Tuesday. Can't imagine how I'll feel losing her in the future.. anyway, sorry for being depressing. Great haul :) we don't have LFL's in the UK (not the part I'm from anyway, not sure about other area) but disused phoneboxes (the red ones you see in films) are sometimes converted to our version of a LFL.. There's only 2 locally to me but the others are used to store defibrillators so it's a win-win

I don't know why this never occured to me, but I will definitely be doing this. I don't read a ton of physical books, but this is such a great idea to trade books around and get rid of some of the ones I have here.

I love my local LFL, too!! For a small town, we have quite a few! It makes me happy to go on a sunny day to make the rounds :) lived the video and looking forward to the thrift stores one! Love those, too, esp for books!!

I love Little Free Libraries!! Thanks for bringing us along. I did a mini little free library tour myself recently. There is a crescent in the city with 6 little free libraries on it! It's fun to be able to visit a whole bunch in one go!

Glad you enjoyed this. I love that there are so many LFLs in my area. I love that you have a spot to hit up 6 in one go. That's fun. Mine are all driving distance apart, except for the 3 or 4 within 2 miles from my house. It's a big loop, but I've done it before. haha.

My daughter and I hit up the dozen or so LFLs in our neighborhood every few months to unhaul old books and stock up on new ones, and we always have so much fun! Also, you really should have grabbed Tales From The City, I remember really enjoying it when I read it... over 20 years ago....

Almost squealed in delight when I saw this in my feed this morning. Your little library one from last year kept coming up in my suggestions and just yesterday I was wishing you would do a new one! And here it is! At the second one my heart skipped a beat when you passed by The Heretic's Daughter by Kathleen Kent...heavy but soooo good! About the Salem Witch Trials. Ewww to the ants. Probably a nest somewhere in the lawn around the LFL.

Oh how fun that you were just thinking of it! I couldn't remember how long it had been since my last one, but I knew I was overdue for another. Glad you enjoyed it! I have never heard of The Heretic's Daughter. Yeah, the ants grossed me out and brought an end to the adventure. I hit up 10 though and that's a nice even number! haha.

In my country this project is mostly unknown. Wish there was one in my school or something.

That was a very nice driver even if you didn't get many books, I love just getting out and going for a drive sometimes, to me, it's so relaxing, and sometimes I'll pick a place to stop at to get a cold drink or snack. I need to check & See if any new LFL s have popped up around here, great goal towards getting out more.😊

It was the perfect day to drive around. I had the windows down. It wasn't too too hot. Sky was blue. Just lovely. I almost stopped for ice cream, but didn't find a good place for it.

I love the idea of little free libraries. Will have a look and see if we have any in the UK near me.

Free little libraries are such a great book resource! In #3 I saw 2 books enjoyed: Paper Towns by John Green and Where'd you Go Bernadette by Maria Semple.

@@BooksAndJams I just really liked the unique twist on the underground railroad. It wasn't one of those books that you read and then sigh that restful sigh that says you just had a really good time, but for me it was a good reminder that people can survive more than we sometimes think we can. Even when things seem bleak or completely hopeless, we are stronger than we think.

What you need to do is go to www.littlefreelibrary.org and send them an email that you went to a LFL on the map and it was no longer there. They might be able to email the steward of that library to see if they moved it.

Yeah, those ants were really grossing me out. I love seeing all the different designs of the LFLs. There are quite a few creative ones.

Yuck I hate bugs, I was like “Krista don’t take a book you will take ants back into your home”. Lol. I just realized that my small town has several free little libraries so I plan to fill some of them with books. I have a fear of bringing “something” home so I won’t take any - just drop off. Thanks for sharing.

Love and Ruin if I remember correctly has infidelity in it. It's a really good book about Hemingway's 2nd wife (I think) but not sure you'll like it.

What part of the country are you in? Just curious. It was fun seeing the neighborhood. 😎 My teenager tried to start a LFL, but our HOA turned her down. Funny, but we have others all over the place in other HOA run neighborhoods closeby. I feel like she should keep trying! We love to drive around on Sunday afternoons and search all of the LFL’s we can find. The selections are usually pretty bad and we get discouraged, then we get to one and it’ll be a JACKPOT and make it all worthwhile! 😂

I enjoyed it to a degree, but ALL of the characters were the worst! I suspected everyone because they were all awful. It wasn't one I think I'd read again, but fun for once through. Well, fun probably isn't the right word for a murder mystery.
