True indeed.... people only know that the year he was born as the "year of the elephant". That year depicts the year when an armada brought elephant to Mecca to destroy the Kaaba (Cube). The Kaaba was built by prophet Adam and rebuilt by prophet Abraham.

How can you say that nobody knows the dates..?? Books are replete with these informations. His(SAW) date of birth is:-- 9th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, 53 Yrs before Hijri (Monday) Or, 22nd April 571 AD. (2). His(SAW) date of demise is:-- 14 Rabi-ul-Awwal 11 Hijri, Monday. Or, 11 June 632 AD. The Prophet SallALLAH AlehWasallam lived for 22330 days. (63 years and 5 days as per lunar years.)
