Over the years, I have used your advice to prepare for multiple interviews and manage to always move to the next round. Recently, I started looking for a new job and landed an interview within days of applying. On interview day I was very confident as they were asking all the typical interview questions that you mention we should practice before every interview. I even asked the hard question at the end of the interview and the reply was a simple "no". The following morning I send a thank you email and I kid you not, I received a call with an offer an hour later! Not even 24 hours after the interview. I'll be starting my job at a non-profit organization specializing in eradicating child sexual abuse and sex trafficking in a couple weeks. I am so excited and I just wanted to thank you for all your advice. You've been a huge help and I'll always come back and recommend your videos for interview preparation support.

I watched your videos and was well prepared. I did my homework and practiced. I researched the company, and my interviewer’s Facebook profiles. I studied my job description and focused on how my previous experience has prepared me for the job. I felt confident and relaxed because I followed all the things you taught me. I got a call to schedule the second interview before I got home that same day. I was shocked because the 2 ladies that interviewed me said there were more candidates and I could expect a call back in a couple of weeks. The second interview would be with the department director. I was hired by the end of that week. I’ve been working for the company a year now and love my job. I was having lunch the other day with one of my colleagues that had interviewed me. She said I interviewed extremely well, better than anyone she had interviewed over the years. Thank you!

Just posting on one of your videos to thank you. I watched several of your videos and learned that a lot of my interview answers were trash. I cleaned up my responses and got a promotion with a 31% increase… for an internal role! Highly recommend everyone watches your videos!

To be honest, candidates are required to research the company's values, mission, products and such, and half the time, they haven't even read your resume carefully and ask you to clarify aspects that were already obvious, had they actually read it. I don't disagree with any of your points, I just think it's a two-way street and companies should also be held accountable when they're unprofessional about this.

Well that’s a red flag to not work for them. Yes, respect is a two way street and that includes their knowledge of your resume. 😊

I went to an interview 3 days ago in the most casual interview outfit that I've ever worn to an interview because I knew the company had a very casual culture. I felt overdressed because the person interviewing me was dressed more casually than I was. I was wearing black leggings, a tank top, a casual white button down shirt over the tank top (not the kind that one would wear under a suit), and short rubber ankle boots - it was raining. I left the white shirt unbuttoned.

A big NO for #8! No matter how bad your experience is with your old boss, expressing negativity won't make it even. Move on and professional, that's why you're applying for a new job in the first place!

Hey Cass - any advice and/or videos on addressing a pay increase once already in a position…?? I was approached by a competing business (high end retail) and offered 25% more than Im making now - however I would ideally like to stay where I’m at so long as they would be willing to match (or get near) what I was offered - would greatly appreciate some guidance in how to approach this conversation with my manager! (And preferably today(?) since I might bring it up tomorrow 😅🙃☺️).
