I'm a quiet person and I can identify with all the 10 facts, but fact 11. Never confuse a quiet person with a coward. Push us too far and we will quietly analyse the situation and then go all out, very quickly and very coldly to end the conflict. It's what we are.

Very true... I'll add that we take people as they are and remember what they've done. In whatever kind of relationship, be it love to employment, there is a line. Yes, very loyal to those on the positive side of that line and very few complaints given. But, it's a cold, hard line. We know where that line is, when that person proves they are not worth the effort of being around. Cross that and everything changes. Forgiveness is not part of the equation. Actions taken are pre-planned with all the negative consequences already taken into account. Restoring the old balance is highly unlikely. That's what happens when someone thinks things through. That's what quiet people do.

AMEN! the main difference is that we think consequentially about it and would rather get away from a bad situation after considering what there is to lose rather than engaging a conflict that isn't worth the effort in the long run. We think things through first. If we decide that it's worth it, woe betide the MF who crosses that line. Also ... we are not mean. but _fair,_ so if it seems we are too harsh on someone trust that they earned it.

I'm quiet till I get to know you. If I become a friend then I talk about any and everything. To everyone else I'm reserved. Helps weed out the the people not worth talking to. Which was my go to in High School. Why don't you talk to me . If I didn't like them it was easy. Cause You have nothing I want to talk about. Short buy sweet. People can't fathom you might not find them interesting.

I don't do small talk very well. I tend to be quiet and people think I am aloof but I am not.

Being quiet is golden. It’s about being observant. Being observant means you are learning. Taking stock of what’s going on and making decisions in their heads about who they need to spend their energy with and who they need to avoid.

It frustrates me that being shy or quiet has been seen as a bad thing, or that there is something wrong with you if you're not constantly engaging everyone in conversation. I'm naturally reserved around people I'm not completely comfortable with, but I also have a really soft voice - so on the ocassions I do want to contribute to a conversation, people usually just talk over the top of me and I end up feeling that it's pointless to make the effort. Believe me, I'm thinking all the time and there are many things I would share in the right circumstances.

Nothing wrong there. A good quote (of which i can't remember who said it) goes, roughly, that a dumb person speaks because they want to say something while a smart person speaks because they have something to say. Most of what i hear people talk about is like meandering through a piece of writing that has no contextual value throughout most of what's written. The mind can then easily pick out anything mentioned that's of value or importance and that's when a quiet person knows when and how to interject.

My late husband said that I radiate no clear boundaries and no definable character (until I express myself.) As a result, others attribute to me wildly different characteristics which are simply not consistent with my true nature. There's nothing wrong with being a quiet, introverted person. I would much rather read a nice book by a sunny window than go out to a loud party. I relish the peace and quiet and prefer to be on my own most of the time. I'm also very observant and pay attention to the little things. I wish I had people who understood me, rather than judge me.

Sister often kept her eye on me in social situations where i just hung out on the edge and listened. When i got a smile on my face and started to speak she would say loudly "stop" as what was coming was going to upset someone.

My dad is quiet but once he talks, you would really listen to him coz he’s full of wisdom. He’s just observant and rather talk to older people than his peers coz he learns more about life with older people making him wise.

I've been down that path during my life when i was in school, I've had people question me how I never feared or felt intimidated by bullies? My reply, the answer is simple, action speak louder than words. Example: Bullies are loud and obnoxious, they want you to feel intimidated by using threats, where a quiet person has no interest but may seem intimidating unintentionally because what's in that person's mind is a mystery to others. A person that is quiet can seem to be more of a threat than their loud counterpart because they could strike without warning. It's easy to make threats. However just because someone threatens you doesn't always mean they're dangerous.

I was a quiet person in school, and a lot of kids thought I was "stuck-up", which I wasn't, just reserved and quiet. Interesting, the same kids that called me "stuck-up", never bothered to simply say, "Hello, Good morning" etc. But a lot of kids had no reservations about asking to borrow some paper, pencils, or copy my homework. I often wondered just who the real stuck-up people were.

I was recently called intimidating, I was astounded, never thought of myself as that. In high school I was seen as haughty but I was just reserved and not shallow. I however am not quiet when I feel or see injustice.

Very on point video. I hate being judged because I’m quiet. People act as if something is wrong with me and they try to force me to talk. I’ve been a quiet person all of my life. It’s not going to change. The more you push…the more quiet I become.

I'm also told that I'm very quiet and very soft spoken. My quiet demeanor in school was mistaken for being stuck up. I just like to stick to myself and I don't like gossip. All of these things are very true. I don't always have something to say but don't mistake quiet people as people who can be walked all over. I will blow a fuse and maybe start yelling at someone who has done something to my family, and I am not afraid to physically throw down if that's what it comes to, but after that I'm back to my quiet self and I don't dwell on things.

doubtful. I'm in management and my peers and higher ups all mistaken introversion for social anxiety. They believe introversion is a disease that needs cured. They think "more office parties" to make them not so shy and then when that employee doesn't show up.....they're considered a defective person.

People always assume I am stuck up when they first meet me, once I get to know someone I can become quite talkative. I still enjoy time to myself though, and time to think.

I've had so many people instantly assume that either something is wrong with me, or that I'm upset, or that I'm plotting something, just because I'm being quiet and minding my own business. But I've always been like this and still proud to be a quiet person 🙌

Makes things difficult sometimes too, speaking from experience. Amazing when things are good, absolutely detrimental when things are bad or you lose your safety net. When you can vividly recall every little detail, down to what you had for breakfast on a given day, it makes it hard to get stuck in a bad loop when things get crummy and you go back wondering where things went wrong, were you lied to this whole time, were you always a fuck up, and just generally living in the past.

I'm also an introvert but enjoy interacting with others but not too much cos its draining 💕

One quiet person I once met basically said "You don't have to deal with as much of other people's crap if you keep to yourself." - Kinda makes sense actually.

I am a quiet person. INFJ personality type. Quiet in the sense that I generally dont start a conversation but if I find the other person interesting, I can talk for hours. I usually dont like small talk. I want to know them. I am definitively not shy. I just like being alone more than I am with people. I love nature and animals. I generally find people facinating but I am selective with who I want to interact with.

INFJ is the rarest personality type. I know three of them and they are three of the best people I have ever met. My best friend is INFJ and people think he's a social butterfly extrovert because he's so good with people, but he actually is an introvert and hates crowds.

I’m an INFJ too and I relate a lot to you. I long for deep connections with people and small talk isn’t enough to connect with them. Moreover I think it’s boring and useless. I love nature and animals so much, probably more than humans. But I still find humans enthralling and I’m curious about their nature. I never talk randomly to a person I come to them because they seem to interest me.

@@Bella-ir4hs as an INFP I've found that if done right, tolerating a little small talk can be a springboard to finding something more profound and interesting about a person. Plus it can help you seem friendlier... introverts are notorious for seeming closed off or even somewhat cold due to their selective and introspective nature. They aren't cold at all, they just seek meaningful connections and conversations, rather than senseless social fluff.

Yeah, in school I was always treated like the "strange one" because I was quiet and sometimes wanted to be alone sitting somewhere, maybe under a tree, but I see myself in a lot of these points in the video and for sure I LOVE to talk, joke and do stuff with the persons to which I connected.

I can take an eight hour drive with no music or radio blaring in the car and be perfectly happy. There’s plenty of things rattling around in my head to keep me occupied

This is me. People do not ‘get’ me. It can be frustrating.

What if you're a quiet person and lack social skills? I wasn't being myself for most of my life, acting like someone else just to fit in. Now I accept my true nature but I can't seem to find a natural way of socializing. Sometimes I get exited, but it soon feels like too much and I just want to be alone. Then I start to feel lonely and try to open up more, but it somehow feels like betraying myself as it doesn't feel natural at all. It's like a vicious circel.

Yeah, I totally get it. It's like social anxiety but in reverse. You don't have anxiety about socializing, you just have trouble coming up with ideas and finding a reason to start socializing. My parents sent me to a social skills class last year and it helped a lot. I definitely got better at hanging with people and still being a quiet person.

The problem with being quiet or introverted is that most of society see it as a flaw. Most quiet people will probably go through life being accused of being boring, depressed or unhappy, having no confidence, being shy, uninteresting and many more negative traits. People will often become upset or annoyed with them because they don't give the responses people want or expect. Quiet people tend to be pretty flat when it comes to repsonses which means they might not be jumping for joy when something great happens or screaming and shouting about it but that also means they are not going to become outwardly massively upset or angry when something goes wrong or not to plan. Basically if you're quiet or introverted people will always think that something is wrong with you.

Yeah i can definitely 100% relate. People always asked me why i never talked and even my stepfather asked me why i was so quiet, i hate when people jduge you for being quiet and minding your own business

A lot of people have judged me as being quiet. That's only a small part of my personality. I can also be very outgoing and friendly. It all depends on who I'm around and who I'm talking with. I'm much more complex than only being quiet. Most of the qualities mentioned in the video fit me very closely, yet others are way off the mark.

There are people who speak when they have something to say, but they are outnumbered by people who speak because they have to say something.

Quiet people like being around other quiet people because they’re confident enough to stand silence.

People often ask me why I'm so quiet. I simply say that I'm a type B personality and it comes with the territory. They generally accept that answer and leave me alone.

I am quiet person and introvert and I am very proud of that, we add depth to the situation.

I am quiet and never get bored, but people who are actually bored want to steal my valuable quiet time by gaslighting my mind as ' you are bored so let's hang out.' I love to focus on reading and also love to meet meaningful people, not someone who is just bored all the time.

Agreed. Bored people sucked the life out of me in the past. First they'd say they're bored. Then they'll say you're boring. And then when I finally tell them that I'm not responsible for their own feelings of boredom and advice them to go find someone who's not boring, then, and only then, would I get my precious precious personal alone time.

One thing I always hated was when people say - " He's always so quiet " " or are you shy " ? I'm always quiet because it's who I am! I grew up this way and I'm not shy 🤷 it's just I have trust issues and dislike people but quiet people are an. ❤️🔥💯 Always get along with them!.

I’m quiet too and I have a soft voice. Sometimes I say nothing, because my voice will be unnoticed in the company. Being quiet is sometimes a punishment. I've been told many times at school that you won't get a job if you're so quiet. Well, that is not true.

There's times when I'm quite because I simply don't have much to say, and then there's other times I'm quite because I'm in a negative way about my personal problems....other times I'm quite the opposite and somehow have abundances of wit and humor 🤷‍♂️

That is totally my personality as well! I only say something if I feel like I have something of substance to add to the discussion. Otherwise, I love to people watch, and get a feel for that person by their interactions with others.

Being quiet and a bit introverted I find people always assume I'm a meek and mild character, the times that someone has said (with surprise) "I never thought you would do something like that" or "you don't seem the type to ride a Motorbike".

I can agree with most of the video. I am a quiet person & somewhat shy. I don’t like to interact with loud, boisterous people. People make assumptions about me & my personality without even talking to me. I’ve heard people comment that I’m mean. I would rather be by myself than be around gossipers who make assumptions & spread lies about people they don’t even know.

My mother used to say that as if it was someone to be afraid of. I knew that she was referring to me. She couldn't have been more wrong!

As a quiet person it is all true for a lot of people. Only thing that is inaccurate for me is the emotionally stable as I suffer from depression and anxieties.

I hate when a loud aggressive type will look at me and say”watch out for the quiet types”... I’m quiet and value my solitude:) The loud people act like it’s a crime for us to be quiet:(

I use to dislike it so much when people would ask me, "why are you so quiet"? Or use that as a why to describe me. While I'm actually the kind of person that has a lot to say and actually enjoy conversing with those whom actually take the time to reach out. I agree with the majority of the vid. I see myself attracted to other quiet people a lot of times because I know what it's like and I know that there will be good conversations ahead.

I agree with that. I am a quiet individual and yet an introvert, my friends think of me as boring and unliving. Some of them wished I was different, but I understood why. A girl I liked told me the same thing, I replied " I won't change to somebody's appreciation." I liked her but she did not admire my personality. That's why I rejected her, she was toxic.

I'm quiet on the outside but I'm incredibly loud and talkative in my own head, I'm not comfortable with saying my thoughts out loud unless I am with close friends. Someone I don't know very well will ask me a question and I'll give them a short quiet answer but in my head I'm thinking of an essay on it, especially if I like what they asked XD but unless I know them very well I just won't want to say it out loud. This also happens if someones rude to me, on the outside I'll take it quietly and try and ignore them, on the inside I'm cursing them and being pretty rude back and a part of me is just thinking, if you knew what I'm thinking right now you wouldn't have that push over nice girl impression of me XD

This is probably the most Accurate description of Quiet People I've seen. Myself being One. I was just waiting for the Mention of the Old Adage: Never Underestimate a Quiet Person. Over My Decades, there's been the Unfortunate Ones that Couldn't/Wouldn't take Heed of that Simple, Powerful Truth.

Quiet people have a high risk of being bullied. People usually manipulates a quiet person. Quiet people are often also viewed as unimportant. Quiet people also have a high risk of being ignored. These are some of the drawbacks of being a quiet person😞

One of the worst things is people putting the spotlight on me and asking "Why are you being so quiet?" or "Why aren't you talking?"... because I'm uncomfortable around you and now I'm even more uncomfortable

I am 71 and have been shy my whole life although many would say that I am not. I dislike going to parties and standing around making small talk is horrible. I like being around people of my choice and family get togethers and that's it

THANK YOU DUDE! "They aren't necessarily shy". This point is so true. I wish more extroverts knew this fact that yes, many quiet people are shy and are scared to speak, HOWEVER some of us simply choose not to speak because we don't have tolerance for drama and fake people. Furthermore in this modern day, we're rammed up the ar** for sharing our own opinion and hence some of us choose to keep our mouths shut to avoid causing a scene with others. My point is, quiet people CAN BE nervous, shy and socially awkward, however there are those quiet people who are diplomatic, don't want to get into fights and are overall just trying to live a balanced life with no trouble. This pretty much sums me up. I just like being quiet. It's a peaceful life.

True when trouble comes we quite people are more calm than the talkative ones. We get angry but its quite rare and a bit danger if we get angry coz it means we really reach our limit and patience ☺️

Being emotionally stable is something for people who haven't had traumatic experiences. When a quiet person has ptsd, for example, things tend to replay, and get over analyzed. Often negative thoughts spiral, or a negative narrative gets laid over everything. Just get locked in your head that tortures you.
