Excellent coverage of grounding issues
I watched all of the videos. Great!
Very nice, thank you!
After looking at a fair few electric fence videos yours was the only one so clear and well explained. Thank you. Tell me, what do you do when your electric fence does not form a loop and your only using one strand of tape, AND your energiser is placed somewhere in the middle of this line. Can it just be attached there and electrify to ends points right and left of it? All up the span is 350m. Many thanks. Alexander
very good video, just like tongher electric fence system
My soil is very rocky and we are inclined to have periods of drought. I have installed three 6 ft. ground rods and am considering putting a ground wire on the fence itself just below the charged wire. I would also sink additional ground rods at each corner in the fence and connect them to the ground wire. Lastly, I would connect the ground wire directly to the T-posts so that each T-post would also contribute to the grounding. Is there any drawbacks to what I have described?
very good video what size wire for the grounding ? does it need 20 000 volts lead out wire ?
I have a metal fence (t-posts and aluminum no climb). In lieu of burying a wire around the perimeter of my fence wouldn't it be fine to just connect the ground to my metal fence.
in your alternately charged electric fence scenario is the ground wire making a closed (connected back onto itself) or open (when full loop around paddock it doesn't connect back onto itself)?
There is power in the line running from the unit to the fence. But when I attach the line to the fence there is no power in the fence. Insulators are new and there is no vegetation touching the fence. it seems the power is not transferring to the fence wire. The ground rod is 6' in sand and I poured water to add moisture to the ground. Any suggestions? Thank you.
How long does a car battery last before a recharge is needed. Is a deep cycle battery better? This is in ref. to the DC charger. Arley B. Rosharon , Texas

Where is the best place to buy electrical fence connectors, and supplies?
When burying a wire around the perimeter to act as the ground, how deep should you bury it ?

16 to 18 feet deep should be plenty.

@@danceswithstone I would think that if you can dig an 18 foot trench around the perimeter of fence then you could surely get an 8 or 6 foot grounding rod properly into the earth, thus no need for the trench and perimeter wire.

@@stevencochran2845 That's pure unadulterated sensibility right there. Do you think twenty feet would be enough then?
how many ground rods i have to install,
what if my only option of grounding is the ocean or the sea?
