I drove a DAF last month with this type of camera (exactly the same as the one on the video). During daytime...it's not bad but you can't see deep field like in a passive mirror because a mirror only reflects light, so you can adjust your view on a single point, not with a camera and light is a massive problem during nighttime (I did a traction during nighttime between midnight and 5AM) because no screen can display black without producing a disturbing glow. Those screens + dashboard screens = I see my face in the windscreen (light from the screens is reflected by my face and this light is reflected by the windscreen), I can't see the road. I don't need so much light in my cabin but out of my cabin

I also saw that Krone trailers was testing a trailer that would provide assistance to the tractor unit when going uphill.

2:10 - I don't see the US variant on the back of tractor-trailers anymore, so it probably fell out of favor for some reason(s).

The "mirror" cameras should be on everything

The Co I drive for had 40 units delivers with cameras last year not one of them still has them fitted as drivers hatted them and refused to drive them thy are all proper glass now much better

Have you ever driven a vehicle with such cameras? I did, and it's awful because you can't focus your view like in a mirror (if the image is blurred you can focus your view nowhere, the screen doesn't have the same resolution as your view and the mirors' resolution is infinite), and these screens produce light during nighttime even if there's nothing to display, and this light is reflected by your face and your face is reflected by the windscreen (but I don't want to see my face in the windscreen but the road behind the windscreen)

The mirror cameras are not good enough yet. Also if they are damaged then you are stuck there untill you get recovered as they are not currently fixable at the side of the road and your unit could be off the road for days until it is, just not good enough.

If you have driven with cameras mirror you would not say how good but how crap thy are

Those slide curtains are crap all it takes is one pallet to not be on properly or bulk item and u cant close be ok if was one side that opened oh wait thats what a curtain side is
