I got a Pratt Burnerd 4 jaw off eBay a few years ago a 12 inch (probably metric equivalent) . It had the D1-8 spindle mount. It was in very unused condition. I had to make a chuck key, as it didn't come with that. They must loose them non standard hex socket holes. I looked for a chuck key, they wanted almost $200 USD to get one from the UK. Memory was it was 19mm across the hex flats.

I did make the chuck key as well. I had O2 drill rod. I did not heat treat it though. The weights of the chucks is a big thing. I build a bridge crane as my shop is 8' wide by 30 foot long. It's needed for these 12" chucks, as well the 12" rotary table on the mill with a mounted 10" chuck.

These chucks aren’t cheap but they have a good reputation. 12” chuck is massive wow.
