Cena too was overrated..
My favorite promo next to Cream of the Crop was Mr. Perfect throwing the football from one endzone and catching it himself at the other endzone. lol. I miss good wrestling.
Honorable Mention needs to go to Scott Steiner at the end of 2002. His arrival was so hyped up but then his match against HHH at the 2003 Royal Rumble got $h@t on by the fans and his days in WWE were numbered.
Anybody remember Outback Jack...?
I came here just for KizArny
I rather liked waylon mercey along with papa shango and that under rated character, damian demento
I always thought Mordecai was supposed to be a LOTR type character, I guess that one flew over my head.
that was Ernest Miller`s WWE music.
Had they brought in Hade Vansen as just a new dark character and had him working against job guys for a few weeks while eventually transitioning over into feuds with some of the regular superstars at that time (Mysterio and Dolph Ziggler come to mind), that would've been a better way to build him and his character up to an eventual feud with Undertaker. Bringing him in and immediately thrusting him into a program with one of your biggest and well known stars, of course Vince is automatically gonna shoot that shit down, especially if you don't exactly look the part. WWE's stupid booking failed the Hade Vansen character before it even started.
10:55 Waylon Mercy's character is just like Jesse and Festus' character where they would get deranged when the bell rings and back to their calm self when the bell rings again.

Another reason for Mordecai not getting that program with the Undertaker is Vince didn't think he had the size to be believable against the Undertaker. It wasn't just the bar fight.

Nathan Jones, what actually happened was that he couldn't get a visa because of his criminal history, he was initially signed to a temp contract until he obtained a visa, the wwe did fight hard to get him one and used the time filming overseas with him until they got a hard no and had to let him go.

I loved the emphasis "even Hardcore Holly" on Mordecai's string of victories. His 3 victories... Brodus Clay is a legit nice guy. Poor guy never really got a proper run. Albert is in the same boat, he was a monster and was actually good, but WWE dropped the ball as they have a tendency to do. Sin Cara/Mistico was a definite disappointment after all the build for having the former AAA star joining WWE. Kizarny looks like Chris Jericho fell asleep in a box of broken markers and crayons or just Vince Neil.
Sean O'Hara came through the independants to work like 3 dates before he went to the WWE. And I saw him do a f****** split leg moonsault was one of the craziest things I've ever seen out of a guy that size

Kizarny is undefeated in WWE
Kizarny needed a heel run or to become a tag team with boogeyman.
Albert/A-Train/Bloom could have worked as a monster heel at any level with a decent manager/mouthpiece.
Hade Vanson's promo was good a shame Vince pulled the plug after that promo....I heared Vince didn't think Vanson was ready to face Undertaker since he was new to WWE.
Ddp was a dam shame. He was over as much as anyone. Wwe and hhh purposely buried all the wcw guys with a few exceptions.
When Alberto Del Rio is in the ring, Alberto Del Rio’s trunks are what I’m looking at. I didn’t even know he had bodyguards!
Personally my worse deception was Brotus Clay, i couldn`t wait to see that monster demolish everyone after all the hype ... instead we got the stupid gimmick of the funkadactyl ... GOD I WAS FRUSTRATED !

Fat guys aren't intimidating unless you own a buffet
Mordecai only had 3 matches He beat Scotty 2 Hotty and Hardcore Holly and lost to Rey Mysterio So much for a long run They never really gave it a chance
Long live Kizzarny!
The Emmalina gimmick could have worked and if WWE had actually committed to it, I'm sure Emma could have been the top female heel. She could have been the female Rick Rude. That would have been great.
O'Hare was an incredible waste of talent.
No HighLANDers (as JR used to call them?). Sure Robbie shot himself in the foot to get released showing up on camera on TNA TV
I'd say Sean OHaire was a massive mis opportunity. Great athleticism, good worker, bigger guy but could still move, and charismatic. The Devil's Advocate was a very creative and unique character that really could have taken off. Not sure who to blame there...probably Vince for losing interest. It felt like a character that needs 9 months to really percolate so I think had there been an NXT at the time, he could have started there and worked up to the main roster. I think a similar theme thru most of these are "unless you are a smash hit right off the bat, Vince loves you, or the fans hijack your show until you push someone(Daniel Bryan), you will fail". We'll see if the HHH era results in characters being given more time to succeed.
I liked Tons of Funk tag team. They were funny together.
Some of these gimmicks would’ve worked, it’s just that Vince was the old man that just didn’t understand because of backstage politics
Bray Watt is more a clone of Mercy, than Mordecai, Mercy was suppose to be a cult leader too. The whole gimmick Bray took from his Dan Spivey, and made it work better than Dan (Bray said it on the Austin podcast) because when Dan Spivey did the gimmick he was kinda at the end of his career and could not move like he use to. Bray added some super natural stuff to it and made it work.
Kizarney looks like Jericho with a drug addiction
11:55 that dancing Emma sign is hilarious. I would watch a whole show with that as the main character, and it would be better than modern day wrestling.
It's weird to see Braun Strowman dancing behind Adam Rose
It’s funny how I’m watching this the day after Emma returned to smackdown… 😅
I love the Mordecai gimmick it could have been so good
Shawn O HARE should have wrestled BATISTA in a THATS MY GOATEE MATCH!! HAHA
I don't remember Vancent, or whatever his name was. Emma was boring. Kizarny was a blast!
i loved that white kevin thorne, loved to see him destroy rey mysterio
Wasn't the Ernest Millers wcw theme
Mordecai is what happens when writers create the Undertaker 7 years into his run on day 1. The genius of the UT is he was allowed to naturally evolve. Yes, the character was striking from the beginning but not completely over the top. Mordecai felt way way over produced from day and and....he just didn't have the talent Mark Calloway had. The reason Bray Wyatt worked was because he was def more talented and the character wasn't super produced early on. He also was allowed to evolved naturally. Wrestling fans can tell when a gimmick is all production and very little of the actual person playing it.
Also, WCW didn't cultivate young talent? 😂 Sting Lex Luger The Giant Goldberg Booker T Chris Jericho Chris Benoit Eddie Guerrero Dean Malenko Rey Mysterio Seriously, just because a couple of pissed off midcarders sounded out Dave Meltzer doesn't mean WCW didn't develop talent
One guy who went nowhere was a guy call Brackus, he looked the part , big bodybuilder type but wasn't skilled in the ring.
Great American bash 04 had 2 good matches

Nathan jones was actually in the movie Troy. The first battle scene with Achilles
For Kizarny / Sinn Bodhi it was good that it didn't worked for him in WWE. As he said in a very old interview (should be still here on KZread at his old account) he wasn't released by WWE. He said he didn't wanted or feared his character would be used wrong or owned by WWE or so (am not fully sure) and that's why he got released or let himself release or so. Regardless that he had a nice wrestling career up until now and just 2 days ago he was in a fantastic 4 Way Match against Hammerstone, Schaff and Jacob Fatu for the PCW Ultra Heavyweight Title. So yeah, could it have been better for him in WWE? We don't know and never will be, but i'm personally sure his gimmick and career in WWE would never have been as good as it has been for him how it actually was .

You have a legit ex-con that's built like a brick s#ithouse so you have your gimmick right there yet somehow you F that up 🤯
Vince is like a spoiled child playing with toys.
Brodus Clay's gimmick wasn't a total waste, as it saw the debut of Naomi, who played one of Brodus' dancers.
Maybe WWE will resign Tennille Dashwood since she is now dating Madcap Moss in real life.
I bet most WWE fans remember and liked Sin Cara. He had a great look and was immensely talented. Maybe he botched so much because he couldn't see properly through that dumb mask.

I assume you mean outside of WWE? Because he had one match against MVP and it was pretty lame. At the time I was watching all WWE's output and I can't emphasise enough how bored I was of those stupid promos, and then he finally shows up, and... meh. Wasn't he mates with Edge?
And now Emma is back. Can't say her return against Rousey set the world on fire. But here's hoping her run this time is much more successful than her last one.
I feel like I was the only one who was excited to see what Sin Bodhi could have been in WWE.
Waylon Mercy could have been something and in fact was supposedly part of the inspiration for Bray Wyatt.
Its weird that some peopel didn't get behind Brodus Clay as the Funkasaurus. No it didn't live up to the 'freight train', yes it was silly. But it was fun, the Funkadactyls were hot, and Brodus's dancing reminded us of Rikishi who had been a big star in the previous era combining the good wrestling with a dancing gimmick. It didn't really grant much range for the character as its hard to turn a dancing smiling guy with hot girls heel, and to take that singlet seriously at the top of the card. But his matches were generally fun to watch, the theme was catchy, the dancing was amusing which could have kept him in the upper mid card with some half decent low drama stories.
Could nt stand attain at all
Mordecai was terrible not close to bray wyatt. Blasphemy
kizarny was absolutely horrible gimmick.
Price Albert/Lord Tensai was turrible. He coulda been a lot bigger
