    The bigger plothole in Back to the Future is how, (after Marty's family went from losers to winners), did they end up still living in the SAME house, in the SAME neighborhood 😂

  • @Skyfire_The_Goth

    @Skyfire_The_Goth

    Here is my take on that, in the original 1985 Marty's family was just barely making enough to pay bills and feed the family, his parents got the house as a wedding present from one or both sets of their parents. In the new 1985 his family was better off financially but the house was still a wedding present, My thinking is this, the house being a wedding present would have happened when the newlywed couple would have been in very similar financial situations in both timelines, their financial situations wouldn't deviate much until Georges writing career took off in the new timeline, which it would probably have started taking off around the time Marty's brother Dave was born, and it'd take years if not decades for it to get to the point of them being really wealthy, hence why they are still in that house.

    Training non-astronauts to go to space is a real thing that started with Eugene Cernan on Appolo 17. He was a geologist and got excellent results because his expertise helpedchim notice intersting clues that the former pilots trained into geology 101 overlooked. Space shuttle missions (generally only a couple weeks long) generalized that with mixed crews of astronauts (pilots and engineers) and civilian passengers (scientists never leaving the safety and relative confort of the front section). It now continues on the ISS where all people doing long tours are fully trained astronauts but other people sometimes do short trips for a specific task that would have been more complicated to train an astronaut for.

Medicine? Money? Knowledge? World economies would collapse. Greed, hoarding, and waste would immediately ensue. Too many factors and lack of definitions would make the 'doubling resources" option completely nonviable. How do you make a field of crops suddenly double in size? Where do those extra resources suddenly have to fit? The only side effects of halving the population would've been the short term chaos and sudden influx of corpses, the latter of which is resolved by them simply being dusted. Eventually, all existence will fade into irreparable entropy anyway! It's not the first time in Marvel that someone tried to correct a bad with a worse. The Beyonder wanted to erase the entire Multiverse just because he couldn't understand the point in living only to die eventually. Then he "settled" for deleting Death from the Universe, but even that proved a mistake he had to correct. I think when it comes to fixing the Universe, the answer is... don't fix. Note every other time it’s fired in that movie they make a point of showing how it obliterates the target. It’s more like a shotgun crossed with a grenade launcher than a pistol. Han even makes a point of saying how much he likes it at Maz’s bar. The fact Kylo was even standing (let alone fighting) after that was half a miracle. A chunk of his body should be fried or missing after that. That he was the aggressor against two people and was mostly dominating the fight was amazing. The sequel series has plenty of flaws but I don’t consider this one of them.

Luke went from learning to just block shots with his saber just before Obi Wan dies, to being able to finely guide torpedoes down the Death Star vent in the first movie or telekinesis in the wampa cave, powers he was never shown learning and before Yoda. Anakin was the only human pod racer and actually able to do well thanks to the Force, again no trainer. Leia could at least detect Luke through the Force in Ep 5 & 6. Thinking you need someone to train you goes against so many previous stories. And it's shown later Rey and Kylo established a Force Bond that allows info to flow between them, so Rey gleaned the info while Kylo was poking around in hers, confirmed in the novelization. She also said she's heard stories of the Force before so she could be aware of what some powers were.

Every indiscretion, every flaw is corrected by doc brown and when he arrives and tells marty "The future is unwritten" he is literally telling him that all the errors of their time travel is totally corrected and that Marties personal timeline is healed and that from that point forward the influence of the time machine is gone from his life, he may create whatever future he desires. It means that either doc brown erased all physical evidence of Marty his parents could use to identify him after his birth OR more likely, he confronted his parents and flat out told him that he was infact calvin kline and gave them the entire skinny on the time travel saga, but swore them to not reveal that they knew to marty UNTILL AFTER The precise day and time doc brown arrived with his train, completing his time circuit and completely healing the time rifts he and Marty created. I think Marty went home after seeing doc with his train and his parents revealed they knew everything and all of them moved forward freed of the chains of ignorance and falsehoods into an unwritten future.

    I suppose this has been said several times already, but the couple having a baby in "The Quiet Place" isn't really a plot hole because pregnancies kind of tend to happen accidentally often enough even these days, and the time when she did get pregnant was quite a while after the monsters had already arrived and their only source of any system to prevent her from getting pregnant was presumably that one pharmacy they could walk to. So you can pretty much assume they had no certain way to prevent her from getting pregnant anymore apart from total abstinence, and under those circumstances, how many people could have gone for that when having sex was pretty much the only way they could presumably have some pure enjoyment in their life anymore? And after she did get pregnant, they had no safe way to terminate it either. Sure, women have had home abortions about forever, but they are always risky and might very well kill her, especially since they had nobody around who'd have any idea how to perform one, so even if they would have been willing to go for an abortion it was still pretty much out of the picture as the solution. So, presumably they did not "decide" to have a baby, they just did not manage to prevent that.

And then later on when Johnny is complaining about what happened, Daniel never mentions the fact that Johnny congratulated him. I always thought Daniel should have mentioned that when Johnny called Daniel's victory "an illegal kick."

    Its funny how they talk about the kick to the face being possibly illegal and then show a clip of Johnny delivering a kick to the face of an earlier opponent. LOL.

    Me, having never seen Encanto -um, because we don't talk about Bruno. So yep, the movie solidly answered that question.

    There is another aspect to Thanos's plan that people often call out that is actually answered. Halving the population wouldn't work because they would simply repopulate and be back where they started. Thanos said that he would do the snap and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe. He thought the universe would learn their lesson and not repeat the mistake. The fact that he is wrong about this doesn't make it a plot hole. Just more evidence that he is crazy.

    Honestly given that water fall. I wonder if you set up and let a "noise" become "normal" if you could replicate it. Like it'd be really dangerous for probably a fewmonths.. but eventually the noise would become normal to them like the water fall I bet? sustaining noise that long though provides dificult

    Maybe not a plot hole but wonka has 2 things that bug me . One the mom wrote down her secret and gave it to willy before she died ... knowing he couldn't read and didn't try to learn. Nor did he ask someone to read it for him . Also when he splits the chocolate for his friends . The chocolate would easily break into 6 pieces and it seemed like all 7 had an equal peace

    12:34 if he could shout at the top of his lungs they could absolutely build a permanent shelter by the waterfall. Would it take time? Sure, but hell, fresh water, relative safety from cover noise, they're farmers who could easily plant crops near the river and use it as irrigation... still a glaring plot hole

    MCU Thanos makes no sense no matter how you look at it. I mean, courting the literal incarnation of Death by killing half the universe makes SO much more sense than "reduce the number of people using resources" ... since a population doubles more or less every two or three generations (on Earth, it's approximately every 60 years), his entire concept was moot. Every person he killed would have been replaced in such a short amount of time, he would live to see his "handiwork" undone even if he had a normal human lifespan. Of course, doubling the resources wouldn't have helped either, because 1: where do you put it all, and 2: again, in a couple generations the people using those resources would be back to the same percentage of the resources being used... in some cases, probably worse, since any form of conservation efforts currently underway would become moot and be discarded, then when they start to use up the resources again they would no longer be in the process of trying to reduce their usage.

    I never understood the "Encanto" so-called "plot hole". It's super clear that if Dolores had tried to say anything about Bruno still living at home that Abuela would have shut that down so hard! She didn't listen to Mirabel ever, she wouldn't even let her get a word in edgewise half the time, so why wouldn't she do the same to Dolores? Not to mention getting shut down by her own mother. And in the song, she is clearly hinting to Mirabel hard. She ends her song by looking at her and saying, "Do you understand?" Wink wink, nod nod.
