I had to move my hibiscus plants under shade last month. It had stopped flowering and the leaves had started burning up. The heat was intolerable in Delhi NCR. And these were hybrid hibiscus plants. Now, after moving under the shade and away from direct sunlight, they are full of leaves. No flowers yet but I noticed a handful of new buds today. In my opinion, it is the desi (red) variety that can tolerate full day sun.
