really epic setup, love it! I miss living in my old townhouse that had a basement. I'm now in an apartment so i have to be even extra careful with racks.

I’ve been wanting to build my own tank stand, this is going to save me a lot of hardship down the line for sure, thank you so much for sharing with us 🥰

Indeed a cautionary tale! Good content, nice stands! I'd add that most wood has the possibility to expand or contract when it experiences moisture changes; pressure treated or not. Hard or soft wood. Just like with installing wood floors you should acclimatize the wood you're using in the area it's going to reside. Depending on the difference of the moisture of the wood and the environment it could be several days or weeks to avoid such problems. I'd also add that when using pressure treated wood for outdoor projects it should also be acclimatized too. Where I am it's also stored outdoors at the big box hardware stores, so if it's been raining recently it's really going to benefit from some acclimatization time.

Just bought a bunch of wood myself to build a 10 gallon rack. Still in Lowe's for a while thinking about getting treated wood but my inner cheapskate won out and I got regular wood. I'm glad I did now I had no idea that could happen.

Your rack setup is very nice, I hope to one day have something similar once I have more space. Love the collectoritis haha

10 gallons are great, but I wouldn’t want to live without a couple of 20- or 40 gallons in the dimensions that fits in the aquarium stand.

Very informative tips on treated vs non-treated lumber. Glad you were observant to catch the bowing earily. I like the configuration you have chosen and also the natural color of the aquarium racks. Length (left to right) is 32" this will allow 3 10gallons side by side, depth (front to back) is 21" then height (top to bottom) is 20" Hope this helps!

Kendall I’m using a 20 gallon Long. I also have a 40 breeder to upgrade to later if I decide to keep it going.

If you are going to use treated, yes. But I'd just use regular

I can't remember off the top of my head, and I'm at work right now. They are either 20 or 22in. I know I shot for 8-10 inch gap between the top of the tank and the bottom of the 2x4 above.
