Basic rules: The ball must be placed inside the arc nearest to the point where the ball has crossed the goal line. The opponent must stand on the field at least 5 m from the corner arc until the ball is in play. The corner kick must be taken within 4 seconds of being ready. Else, a goal clearance will be awarded to the other team. The ball is in play when it is kicked and moves.
Explanation: A set piece can occur any time there is a restart of play from a foul or the ball going out of play. Typically these take the form of a corner kick, a kick-in, a free kick or even a penalty. Set pieces are sometimes used in football, but more often in the tactical game of futsal. Professional futsal teams practice a lot on set pieces, they can make the difference in winning or losing the game. When taking a corner kick, the player with the ball decides which variant is about to happen and will shout a number or a codeword agreed upon during training or tactical briefing.
