Ive had an XSR legacy for 5 months, cant fault it at all, its lovely to ride and often gets heads turning and is mistaken for a large cc bike. Love it!!

I have the XSR since 2022, and this is the first 125cc bike I don't want to swap for something else.

I would like a simple retro Honda CG125 with an ordinary key manufactured by Honda. I might end up having to buy a Honda DAX 125.

I have a Honda Monkey 125. The only problem I have is that the remote alarm makes the battery go flat when not used for a month or two.

A trickle charger (Oxfordmake a very good one) would sort your problem out.

8 out of the 10 are from China ( PRC ). You left out all those beautiful and better made Motorcycles from India ( India where Retro has been the trend for over 30 years ). You forgot Jawa , Hero , & so many more.

thanks for the peek, but sorry i dont get the point. if i really wanted the feel of an old bike, i'd buy the genuine article, not some chinese marketing idea of what it was like 'back in the day' aimed at millenials. maybe im just too old and too grumpy, but proper old bikes can be cool and interesting, these just ain't IMHO, and £5.25k for a yamaha 125 - just lol. Yeah i was looking to get a 125 scrambler for my first bike, but just ended up getting a cheap used 125 instead. If you want a scrambler, the only way to go is old bmws or triumphs

the Yamaha XSR125 is a stunning but of kit, only let down by the colour ways, if you ask me. when you start moving up in engine size the og bikes theyre styled on were death traps. think id prefer something new with the modern safety features. its also not really anything new this retro style. its always been around, just theyve become more popular is all. its the same as music or the worlds of fashion/art/etc. old styles getting regurgitated with a modern twist. Harley Davidson have been pretty successful with the same old shit for years and their modern style attempts fail, frequently. it's also not that much of a price hike. being an old guy, also, just take a look at anything. its just the price of motorbikes kind of stagnated a little longer than most things. motorbikes kind of went out of style as a whole and are only now starting to see a bit of a resurgence as theyre a cheap(er) mode of transport in these tight times and expensive fuel.

@@DW-lx9wt aye, i pretty much agree with all you say, times move on. I loved all my cortina's back in the day and would love to drive one again for a nostalgia hit, but wouldn't have one as a daily runner over say a focus !! GL

Depends on what you call an 'old bike'. I rode a 1960's BSA Bantam for over 30 years. I should be remembered that very few bikes of that era were 125's (My Bantam was a 175). Considering that 17'ers are restricted to 125's. 'Old bikes' can't be ridden by them. Then there's the reliability and parts issue. Today's 17'ers probably wouldn't know what a spanner is. These China built bikes are reliable and affordable. That said. I wouldn't touch any bike with fuel injection. Yeah. I'm a grumpy old man too.

My AJS Cadwell was made in 2016 and it's still going strong. That said. The 1st generation China bikes were rubbish, but they did get the attention of European Companies. These Companies said that they would buy, but the quality issue had to be sorted. China delivered.
