GREAT stuff. No fuzz, no intros, no painstakingly slow explanations. The best. Thank you.

And yet also highly approachable. It mystifies me just how he does it. But I can watch almost any of his videos and start applying things right away.
Great drills. Now practice, practice, practice.
I am five weeks from retirement. That is when my work on piano shifts from as much time as I can find in my busy days to multiple hours every day, no exceptions. I am already working on improving my jazz-blues skills, and these ten licks are part of the program. Another example of how invaluable this channel has been to me. I hope you are well, Mr. Wauters, and I hope you return with new content! You have people who regularly check your account in case they missed a notification.

@@antibiotic3024 Thanks for asking! I spend at least two hours a day at the piano, often 3 or 4 or more. Lately I've also spent at least a couple hours a day on learning more about music theory, composition (even counterpoint!) and orchestration. I've been working on sight reading as well, something I had largely avoided in the past. Starting to learn some classical along with jazz. Good times! Retirement agrees with me.

Just discovered this channel. EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thank you very much Stijn for your tremendous input.
SUPERB straightforward and extremely helpful. I play some of these licks erratically and at random - so to have them laid out in all 12 keys has been priceless. I’m a jazz piano teacher like you, and it will certainly help my students. If you have a Patrion page, I would be happy to add a donation.
Just found this channel and must say this has got to be one of the best I have seen on KZread. Thank you Stijn for your contibution and generosity in supplying such amazing content. A special thanks for the Free PDF's - they are so helpful, especially your added annotations👌
I’ve found this channel right now, it’s just amazing. I’m gonna stay many hours watching your videos, practicing and learning ways to work. Thanks a million for share this content 🙌🏽

Every single one of these beauties works with II-V-I’s in the same key as the dom 7th chord. It’s a minor miracle (no pun intended…)
So good 👍🏿

You are amazing! Do you have a method book for sale? If not how can I help your channel? You are an answer to a piano teachers prayers. I’m in the process of trying to show Blues lines to some students And what you’re doing is perfect. Please let me know if you do have the method book if not how can I help.? Do you have a Patreon page? Thank you

Hi, thank you so much! Glad you like the tutorial! I don’t have a method book, nor a Patreon Page. :-) I just make videos about topics I like and find usefull. I’m a jazz piano teacher myself, and I get a lot of inspiration from my students. So, I am glad to hear that you can use the tutorials.. If you would recommend my channel to others, that would be awesome! Thanks again
КЛАССНО!!!
Can anyone explain the turn being added on lick 5? Namely the one in F?
do about genre Blues in C rock n roll
Stjin, your video and audio are very clean. What gear do you use for recording? Is that an Upright Piano?
@StijnWauters
3 жыл бұрын
Hi, the piano is a Silent Yamaha (upright piano) that allows me to record the sound with garage band. It’s midi, but it sounds cleaner and I can mix it easier with the backing tracks.. the video is recorded with an iPhone. But the silent yamaha piano is great to work with!

Great video. Thanks for posting. FYI, there's a mistake in the first measure, third beat of the Gb7 lick 8:18. You wrote a double flatted A in the R.H., instead of a double flatted B.
