Something to note that the Kupo Kombo Stands are absolutely magnificent. They are just like the Matthews ones and I love them. Worth looking at. I used Aputure Novas outdoors in windy conditions with them raised about 7 feet. no problems.
massively helpful! please do more of this
Fantastic video thanks
Fun thing I did: I bought a few Matthews t-bar screws because I *HATE* the crappy plastic one that comes with cheaper accessories. They're like $5 each, highly recommend.
Great video Tyler. Good to see you after meeting in Lake Louise. Duane
I'd definitely add an X-rite Color Checker to the list. It's invaluable when grading controlled shoots.

Definitely going to monitor my a-roll shoots with my laptop using that adapter - that's terrific. And better yet...it just works. Doesn't seem to be complicated at all. Great tips, Tyler!
Love how practical all of these recommendations are!
Great content, as always, mate! You should try the Makita 40V Max Brushless Dust Blower! It takes handheld dust blowing to another level.

Actually that’s a great idea, while prepping for this video I saw some shop blowers and they seem way more legit

Hey Tyler, I have an R6, I was wondering what program you were using on the Mac to use it as a monitor? And have you tried the iPad?
The pavotube ii x series is twice as bright as the comparable Amarans and they both seem to have very similar effects and capabilities otherwise - I picked up the pt2c set and am considering returning and getting the pavotubes - am I missing something that would make the Amarans a better choice? I wonder why Amaran made their new tubes so much less bright than the competition.
do you need an app on your mac for using it as a display? Is there a similar option for iPads?
With the Kondor Blue HDMI to USB-C adapter, what program are you running that through in order to use your computer as a monitor..? Are you just using OSB?
Great video what software are you using with the kondor blue HDMI to USB-C to monitor your camera using your laptop

Great question, just the built in QuickTime. Go to file > new movie
Great video! Are you using a black pro mist filter or a black satin filter? I noticed the texture of the image looks pretty smooth!
@stalman
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I don’t use any filters
Do you sell Canon luts? I have an R5 and can't seem to color correct my videos.
This setup looks nice and the image quality is 👌🏾. Love your color grading Tyler! When shooting in a less dynamic range situation like in studio do you keep your iso below 800 to reduce noise? Also do you overexpose your footage and bring it down in post?
@stalman
Жыл бұрын
That’s right, in studio I go down to ISO 400 to keep the noise down, but I don’t overexpose at all on the C70

@@stalman Thanks for replying. One more question if u don't mind. Do you add sharpening to C70 in post? If so how much do you find to be good point doing it in FCPX? You make me want to keep my C70 lol I've been thinking about switching to Sony lately.
Hey great video man! I have random question about lighting for you. Is it usually best to make all practical lights the same color temperature?
@stalman
Жыл бұрын
That is usually the best starting place, but most shows and movies like to mix and match for texture

I have been watching a lot of those "How to build a Studio" videos and this one stands out. Simple tricks like the lint roller, that's what make this video stand out. Thanks for making and sharing it.
Great tips, but it would be great if you did another video on the hack you mention around 11:25. You were going way to fast for me. Thanks Tyler.

It’s easy, just plug your camera into your computer, launch QuickTime and monitor yourself on the big screen. Much easier than buyer a dedicated screen for it!

@@adnaneidan no, it doesn’t do that. For those extra features you’re going to have to download a dedicated video monitoring application.

This was the first video since the Amaran 150C release to remind me that the 150C is a capable replacement to the 120 D mk2 that they discontinued last year. That being said I’m still trying to budget for both a 300x and a 300c. 😅

Hi! Nice video, in my opinion an Autopole is a must have specially for hairlight (horizontally) or small footprint vertically. You can add a bold magic arm like 244N if you need more flexibility :-)
Tyler, I'm sure your work deserves special attention. You are the only observer of digital and cinematic innovations who, in rich and bright colors, without excessive scrupulousness, shows the average person simple and applicable truths. Thank you so much for the Mac Studio, Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve tutorials!
