Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The main concern with electric vehicles is their overall range, but when they’re being used within Cities they truly come into their own. With shorter distances to cover at slower speeds, and restricted parking spaces, electric MicroCars, in particular, are becoming the best choice for millions of people in urban environments. In this video, we'll be taking a look at 10 unique electric Microcars for urban mobility, and show how exciting a market it has become.

Aaaargh! That shot of a microcar squeezing in between two larger cars drives me mad! That gap between the two bigger cars was left to allow them to exit the parking spot, but with the microcar there the cars will not be able to get out!

We urgently need something similar to the Japanese Kei-Cars in Europe. Restrictions in size and weight would be much more beneficial than for the power of the motor.

I have been saying this for years even before the EV craze. I would buy an kei class van in an instant if it was available and in affordable price range and if i could get one of those old Subaru E12 or Suzuki carry like cars with modern tech i would be very happy. I have no need of 2 ton oversized car all i need a small van that can haul stuff and isn't overpriced to the max.

@@yorickkok9223 well for me a kei class van would be perfect it's just stupid that there is zero to none available except handfull that people them self have brought here. A 4WD Subaru van would be perfect it's small but can still haul a couch if I need to and has good mileage. For me personally I have zero need for those oversized suv's and normal sedan to me is just plain useless.

@@Fydron the peugeot bipper and the fiat fioriono are not much bigger, even smaller is an Aixam Pro(downside the max speed is 50km/h). sadly the old kei vans with the cab over the engine is in these days are not safe enough to meet the safety standaards.

@@yorickkok9223 I'm 195cm tall and drive a kei car Suzuki Hustler. To be honest it's enough space for the driver and passengers of even bigger height. I have enough room for legs and there's plenty of room from head to the roof (and I can sit on the rear seat behind myself). So it's not that small as you think.

The great part about easy to remove batteries is also they die out over time in all cars. Ones that are meant to be swapped just make the process easier to do without having to pay a specialized mechanic to change your batteries like in say a Tesla.

Safety though is what happens when a car that small hits anything else. Most cars bumpers line right up with your windshield, and your low mass would mean you crumple and fly. Basically any kind of auto accident in a micro car is instant death for the micro car user.

Opinions seem to come off the top of the head more and more . Line of sight? I can’t speak for every micro car but I’ve own 3. 2 of with weee different models. And the crash tests available on both. Drawing the conclusion of what would happen if something small runs into something big isn’t very hard. But because it’s big doesn’t make it safe either mind you. I live in the north east of the now un-united states And a real problem with electric cars is the cold weather. You won't get half the battery life out of those cars in negative degree weather with the heat blasting and we travel longer distances. I drive a smart fortwo with a petrol engine. Some of the roads I drive on in small towns are narrow so it does well and it will go up to 95 miles per hour (152 km) if I choose to go that fast on the highway (i only go 60). I drive alone most of the time. I would love to convert my car to run on propane because it's cleaner, but I don't have the funds. Cost is a big issue for someone like me who doesn't make much money, so an old used smart car that runs on gas is all I can afford.

I really like these little cars. I bought a new Honda Civic in 1988 and I enjoyed the small size and practicality. An electric replacement for such a car would be great. Most of my driving is in the city, so a small inexpensive vehicle would be fine for me most of the time. I'm OK with having a second vehicle for long commutes and highway usage.

This is what does my head in - you buy a certain model 'cos it's nice and compact, bur a few years later you decide it's time for a new one and you find that model has ballooned into a medium-sized car and there isn't anything smaller in the range!

Honestly only 3 things really matter in these 2 seater tiny cars 1. The trunk size For singles or couples who go somewhere without there kids. In short gorcery shopping for about 2 weeks worth of food. The trunk has to be moderately big. 2. The dash board Needs a cup holder/s, functional heat and cold ac, and be able to listen to radio or connect from your phone via aux or Bluetooth. 3. A steel body for the plastic rap around. If you drive anywhere near trh deep country and a pick up truck is going 80 miles per hour and both you don't see each other bare minimum steel frame and steel doors. That's just me personally.

Small vehicles like these will one day be commonplace but only after autonomous driving is the norm. Until that time manufacturers will try priming the pump by telling consumers what they want.

Not sure what the market is for such cars. There are actually very few of them in cities, I see most of them in the countryside, at least the ones that don't require driving licenses. They are used by aged people who live in rural houses or small villages and need basic mobility. In Europe, for instance, most cities have decent public transportation and most urban people don't need a car, but those who do are more likely to come and go to and from the suburbs and the city center or periphery, driving on the circular highways that surround cities, on drives that would take forever using public transportation. Being able to drive at 60mph / 90 km/h over any distance without deteriorating the battery pack should be a base specification. Then, while renting such a car for specific one-time needs, like you can for the Citroën Ami by the minute (!), makes sense, the appeal of _purchasing_ a car that can go nowhere is very limited. You'd need to rent or borrow another car as soon as you need to transport people or goods or go a bit further away from the city, say in a 2 hours / 100 miles / 160 km radius. That should also be part of base specs for micro cars. The two go together: A larger battery pack allows for higher voltage and more powerful electric motor. Base specs harmonization would allow for easier comparisons between brands, as well as decrease prices a lot, with all kinds of vendors competing over producing drive trains that would fit many different brands and models of micro cars. I would also add that being too short on specs such as battery pack capacity means that the range becomes even less in winter or after a few years, thus making the car practically unsalable. One last thing: China is currently leading on electric micro cars and EVs in general, yet I would personally not caution a regime with so many blatant violations of human rights. So no driving Chinese EVs for me until the political situation has changed, and I would also recommend not investing into China until then.

I bought my Chevrolet Bolt EV almost 3 years ago and still love it. With its 260+ mile range, it shines both in the city and on the highway. With its 200 hp motor, instant torque, and a forced-limited top speed of 95 mph, it's a silent rocket. With its zero emission and almost zero maintenance, it makes me proud.

@Chingaso Clown Not "around the corner" for my Chevy Bolt. Last year, GM gave me a brand new battery as part of their recall program - totally free of charge - together with a brand new 100,000-mile warranty. Moreover, before I returned my original battery to GM, I had it tested and they found that after almost 3 years of active everyday use, almost 50,000 miles, and three Canadian winters, the original battery's degradation was less than 2%. This means that, all things being equal, my battery will have juice in it for the next 50 years or so. In other words, the battery is highly likely to outlive the car itself. After that, it can be taken off the car and used as a backup power source for my house. But, I am yet to find that out... if I live that long. In the meantime, I am still honeymooning with my Chevy Bolt and would never volunteer to go back to driving one of those fossil contraptions. :)

It’s 80 miles round trip to and from work every day, so we need an AWD (we get 5-6 feet of snow every winter) and it needs to go 60-70mph for an EV to work for us. The current Subaru and Toyota EVs are way too EXPENSIVE. We can buy a Lot of gasoline for $55K to $60K.

The Polaris GEM E 2 is the GM GEM. Both look like Club Car golf carts. The big mistake manufacturers are making is trying to convince people that short range EVs are somehow better than long range EVs. Short range EVs are what the world has had to put up with since the 1830s when EVs were first invented. Almost all of these EVs have the same range as a lead acid battery pack. Not the sort of thing I would want to promote.
