October was actually warmer and brighter

Long term weather forecast , May to Dec 2024 - wet cold, cloudy cold . 1963 winter pretty much same set up happened as a high pressure parked itself out west and lasted for months sending down arctic winds , with some low pressures coming up. This pig of a high will pretty much sit out west all year

What happened to all that sustained high pressure and drier weather they were talking about not long ago? 🙄

I know - it's just 4 of their favourite counties . It's just laziness how they could easily add more counties

It is obvious that this years weather in the UK is much cooler than last previous few years. There is no stability and sureness with a UK summer, it is hit and miss. But I will say this. Last years summer was not the best, but 2022 was the hottest on record. 2021, summer was not that good, but 2020, was one of the hottest on record. 2019, summer was not great, but 2018 the summer was one of the hottest. So there seems to be a new pattern forming. No longer is it once every 5-10 years a heatwave summer happens, it appears to be every 2 years now. So on paper, on this evidence, this year should be a stonkingly hot summer, yes?. WRONG. I can see now the patterns are all ebbing towards a cooler summer, which means this may be the start of a cooling trend, certainly in the UK region. It is simple to work out if a good summer is coming or not. A good summer ahead, would normally indicate several weeks of dry and warmish temperatures, much like April / May 2022, it was dry for week upon weak, not stonking hot, but around 21/22c solid for around 3 weeks, possibly more. This is the sign of a strong summer to come, in the UK anyway. I see the pattern. This year, we have had no prolonged period of dry and warm weather. This is pointing towards a wetter and much cooler summer for the UK during 2024. No prolonged pattern, does appear to mean a less stable summer, I believe it will be worse than 2023 summer, which was not the best. I am anticipating below average summer temperatures and periods of heavy rain during June through to September. This is the current pattern and it does tend to be spot on.

well so far this year Midlands have not advanced 11 degrees ! peeing me right off - HATE COLD !!!!! FFS move from January temps please please please . Everyone walking around with woolly hats and thick coats up to this date

@@iulimckenna1338 YES!!! peeing me off big time . We had one day at 17 degrees , rest has been 11 degrees day asfter day .... We went Cromer it was 8 end of April . plus it looks jammed like this for months :(
