    i love the osmo pocket 2, i love the reactions on people. Its always like wait what? THATS A CAMERA?! and when they see the quality of the video they are always mindblown. Its a great tool to have cheap but awesome quality video, specially to work with clients on low budget

    Terrific video. I've done the Atlanta Transition but honestly didn't know that's what it's called! Another great transition, an oldie but goodie, is what I call the "in-camera wipe." Let's say you move toward a man (from behind him) with a dark cost on. You go all the way into the back of his coat. Then in your next shot, you start super tight on a dark object, let's say a column and you move out from it to reveal a whole room full of people. In editing, it's simply a cut but it looks great as you change dramatically to a whole new scene, with the dark element being the "wipe."

    Thanks! I am glad that you got the message. You don't need mega-expensive kit to create amazing-looking footage. It is nice to have the expensive kit, but if you don't have it, just don't worry too much. Sometimes the bigger and more expensive the kit is, the more complex everything is.

    Still watching it, but another tip. I use Osmo Pocket, and it has tracking up to 4K50fps. When you do the Jib Shot, tap on a subject you'll track and elevate the camera. It will look like drone takeoff footage and looks awesome. Edit: You introduced the tilt locked mode about this and it works the same way. Thanks for that :D

    Thanks for your comment. The cool thing about the Pocket 2 is that with the different modes, you get options depending on what you want to shoot and how. It is all about experimenting. I have never got great results with the tracking feature so I am reticent to use it. It is just too temperamental. But I will give your suggestion a go for sure!!

    They used to have that same tripod rule at Lincoln Center (they may still) with permits indemnification and fees if anything from a monopod up hit the ground. and they were crushed back in the 80s when we would shoot major commercials and fashion videos with my Steadicam. That's when I used to carry some 125 pounds or more in pro video equipment but we kept it off the ground. Now it all fits in in the palm and the grip truck is a backpack and less!

    So true! I used to own a steadicam too, a glidecam pro (or some like that, can’t remember exactly) to be more precise. It was a beast and I had major back problems. Things are getting smaller and exponentially more capable. Would you wanna go back to the old days?

    @@SamuelSotiega Yes, I was one of the first 100 Steadicam Operators and developed a lot of special gear as Garrett did not see Steadiam as worth it for video production. When I developed a universal silent focus gear he said to me "Why do you need to focus video, it's all out of focus anyway." Yeah, I'd like to go back to the Batacam era. I've no back issues after 30 years of Operation. It is all about how you do it. None of my students had back issues and we all made a ton of money. The great thing about this camera/gimbal/ rig is that you get the chance to experiment and try new things without breaking a sweat. Experiment with different speeds, shot angles, etc. Imagine you are filming someone, as a transition you can have the camera then drop to one side and transition into the next scene swinging up, like opening a book. Honestly, the possibilities are endless.

    You should! In the next 2-3 weeks I will be releasing a video comparing the DJI OM4 with iPhone 12 pro Max and the DJI Pocket 2. That will be a cool video. But a heads up. The pocket 2 is way more functional at this budget level. I love it and use it all the time. Why carrying a big set up when you got everything in a small gimbal in your "pocket". trust me, if you purchase one, you won't be dissapointed! And I wouldn't make such bold statement for many tbings in life.

    this was great, thanks! are you using bluetooth connectivity from the doitall handle to watch your footage on your phone? i just got my pocket 2 on sunday and tried it out yesterday...for the knife and pool stick POV, i didn't know it was ok to manually adjust the camera so that's good to know...do you put it 'tilt lock' to lock that angle in place?

  • @SamuelSotiega

    @SamuelSotiega

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes, I use the doitallhandle connecting wirelessly to a phone through the mimo app. It works a treat and means no cables from pocket 2 to phone. Tilt-lock will work in most circumstances and sometimes follow or fpv are the way to go. For the knife shot, it was on follow mode and I manually pointed it in the direction I wanted. However, nothing beats trial and error and see what works for you. The best thing is that it is so easy to set up and test... I hope my answer was helpful! Let me know otherwise.

    I connect it wirelessly via the do-it-all-handle. If you don't have the handle, I left a link for a USBC or lighting to lightning cable and extension (I am in iPhone). If you are on Android, you just need to get a long cable or extension to plug the Pocket 2 directly to your phone based on the connector or plugs you have/ need. I hope this helps...
