There were several problems: They made cheap, crappy products and services Their original founders died/got taken over by crappy leadership They over-leveraged themselves with big loans, expanded too quickly and took on huge debts

I miss Payless so much. I have such a large shoe size (Womens 13-14) and Payless made it easy for me to just go to the section with my size and see what they had vs. looking around, finding something I love only to find out they don't make my size. I know shopping online is a thing, but I just can't do online shoe shopping. I need to see how it fits and feels and shopping online just isn't reliable. I wish Payless would come back to stores... I miss it so much...

But great minds are not afraid of not making it in this world. Datz why small minds try to gatekeep us, and make is "in the dark" as long as they can manage. Lets see in 20 years... who's laughing last.

One of the reasons of that trend is mainly because people's disposable income was not only not growing but also getting eaten away by rising gas prices and the costs of living increases. All these businesses have one thing in common, there all luxuries, and when the people can't afford them they can't buy. Some of them may have poor leadership and customer service issues but if the pool of consumers that can pay shrinks that too is a pretty big nail in the coffin.

Ahh I remember Payless it was the only shoe store in my town and when it left it was sad and we just had to get shoes at our Fred Meyers (like frys) And don’t get my started on Blockbuster I loved going there on a Friday nigh and picking out an Alvin and the chipmunks movie. :-) those were the days. I still love dvds and stuff just can’t find them much anymore I don’t have many memories of toys r us cause we didn’t have one any where near my town (Alaska) and I only went 3 times and got a toy once of those times. But I loved going there the times I did, it was amazing. But it was also expensive which is why i mainly enjoyed just looking around.
