The wooden spoon is a kitchen utensil in the kitchen but in rugby league it’s the prize that every team tries to avoid as it means that you’ve come in last place on the ladder. For this list, we are looking at clubs that earned this disappointing achievement the most amount of times from 1990-2021 and look further as to how they became the worst team in the competition for that particular season. Whether it was the club going through a rebuilding stage or just simply a series of poor performances, these are the 10 Clubs with the most wooden spoons.

The Bulldogs also won the wooden spoon in 2021, I mistakenly forgot to add information on that season to that number 6 pick. Apologies for the mistake but hope you enjoyed the video.
11 of Parramatta's wooden spoons happened before 1972. Since 1972 more clubs have come last more often than Parramatta.
Dude, the crushers came in 1995 with 3 other teams, Warriors, Cowboys and Reds. The rams and mariners were super league teams from 97.
Forgot Adelaide had a team, we really need to expand to other states, get state of origin tournament going.
Miss the early 2000’s
Adelaide were a super league team and only participated in the 97 super league season and the 98 nrl season. The 95 teams were the Crushers, Cowboys, Reds and Warriors.

Hard to argue with that. I remember watching those two games that Brisbane won before the shutdown and was somewhat excited. Then they came back and it was like watching an entirely different team. Can't believe I sat through all those games!

Your history of crushers and 1995 is wrong. It wasn’t them reds and rams that entered - it was crushers reds warriors and cowboys. It would be 1997 super league that rams entered with mariners. Otherwise an entertaining video nether the less 👍

Crushers, Cowboys, Reds, and Warriors did enter in 1995. I remember watching the 1994 Grand Final when they introduced the team. But you are right the Rams and Mariners entered in the 1997 Super League.

You want to know what's ironic... People would say any success that a club had before " NRL " doesn't count yet that don't even mind underlining the under-success before " NRL " like us (EELS SUPPORTER) Most of spoon's came from literally before NRL we tie RABBITS for like 7 or something if I'm right correct me if I'm wrong but yeah... People just like to talk shit at this stage I think, They like to forget logic when it best suits them.

I feel this comes from fans who have only known it as the NRL, but it is interesting, not including the certain successes but including the failures.

The Warriors in fact never won a wooden spoon. Same with the Sea Eagles. Warriors did close in 2022 though, saved only by the Wests Tigers being THAT much worse than them…
Probably need to do a bit more studying bro. Crushers joined with the Warriors, Cowboys and Reds in 1995 🤦🏻♂️😉
