Great tips! Two main tips me and my husband use are: 1) never go to bed with a dirty/full kitchen sink. 2) Always take something when leaving the room. Because there is always something that doesnt belong in that room. (Wrapers, dishes, toys, socks, etc)

I'm from Europe and no one here walks inside a house with their shoes on. I've never understood why people in the US do that because it just makes absolutely no sense. There is so much bacteria and dirt on the streets and especially if you have any carpets, this makes life unnecessaryly harder.

Omg yes! I’m in the US and my husband and his family ALWAYS wear shoes in their house!! NASTY! I’m Korean and I don’t let that happen. Even my in laws asked my hubby, “ Oh that’s something you can’t win on?” What the?? Seriously! They hate taking off their shoes in the house! I make them IF they come over, but I don’t invite them at all anymore due to them being difficult and treating me like crap. I had my kids take off their shoes ONCE in their house and by the time we had to leave, all of our WHITE clean socks were SO black and dirty!!! I almost puked. I hate ppl that live in filthiness.

No shoes in the house is pretty much the norm in Norway! If anyone says "it’s ok, you don’t have to take them off", even if you’re just walking through the house to access their back yard or if you’re getting something you forgot in another room, my automatic reaction is always "😬 are you sure?"

Glad you featured it. And I'm a short black woman who was born and raised in Florida. I don't like to wear shoes in my home either. So I agree with you on that also. Hi. What helps really a lot is, when the kids are from the biggining included into cleaning process. This means, they should bring cloths to the dirty laundry basket basket. Carry the dishes to the kitchen countertop at a certain age (6 years). Let them help you to clean up mirrors or windows, thats also fun especially in Summer. Ask the kids to make the sofa nice or their bed, in their way. So many things..😊

Couldn't agree more on the Robot Vacuum. I use mine daily. My 18 month old is always playing on the floor and I have two large dogs and they are constantly bringing dirt into the house. I also use a spray mop to spot clean and I find one of those mini brush and dust pan sets great for small messes.

Ah the thing with kids eating snacks and placing their hands on furniture is so painful as a mom but so true 😭 thanks for being real. And I realised also that sometimes kids forget to not do that and kids grown up too fast. As long as the house isn't outta control a few old stains here and there doesn't make anyone less of a parent. 😊💕 sorry for the long rant 😬

Thanks for sharing! My cleaning tip would be to get everyone on board with cleaning & organizing in the house (adults, kids, roommates, etc). This will place the responsibility on each person so no one feels like they have to carry the burden of doing most of it themselves. I make my 22 month old son put his toys away before he leaves the room he is in and if he wants to play with something else he must put away the previous items he was playing with first. Another tip would be to get as much stuff off the floor & countertops by using shelves. This will utilize your vertical space and make your home seem cleaner than it is (and it makes your space seem bigger as well). Plus, if you put bins or baskets on those shelves to store items it makes cleaning countertops and floors much easier and quicker. My husband & I decided not to use a cleaning service because 1) we can put that money toward paying something else. 2) we didn’t want our son to grow up thinking that’s how life is... you make a mess & pay someone else to clean it. We want to create and establish a habit within him to always clean up and he may not have the funds to hire a cleaning service later in his life. But, maybe, later we might change our minds and hire a cleaning crew...like when he goes off to college hehe.🙂

@@yasminmulla8337 it's why I say the vacuum does a 90% good enough job. It does not completely take over a vacuum and I think it's kinda weird to think it does. During the weekend we clean the corners more thoroughly but also there are models that have brushes on the front that sweep up dust. they look weird but I guess it works? Also they have models now that are square.

I always hated the no shoe in the house rule when I was growing up. None of my friends houses had that rule and so it was such a chore when going from in and out to keep taking off and putting on your shoes. But now as an adult with my own house it is a must. If nothing else, it keeps from staining your carpet. No shoes! My daughter is ALWAYS drinking that dang bath water! It’s so gross but she laughs and loves it. Love the tip about washing toys in the dishwasher. Do you run the dishwasher with dish liquid or run it just as hot water? I know the water is so hot it will sanitize it technically, but just was wondering which you do.

She was coming once a month to help with kitchen, bathrooms and other tasks. Then my husband complained (It seems like he thinks working from home without commute is the same as what I deal with on the daily and thinks IVF is too harsh on the man- ha!) so two years forward, now she comes twice a month and this saves as fights on many things. Still, the house is cleaner when we do it but anyway help never hurts.

No shoes in the house is a cardinal rule in my home. My in laws gave me and my hubby such a hard time about this rule. My FIL was like “Oh you can’t win on that rule?” Really? What’s wrong with keeping a clean house?? Plus whenever I have visited their home, and would automatically take off my shoes, my clean white socks would be BLACK from the dirt! They don’t clean as much as they should. Since they don’t like the rule in my house, they don’t need to come over lol 😂

Walking around with shoes in the house is so dirty. I judge hardcore when I see this. I was born in Latvia and moving to the US made me realize it's like an American thing lol.

the problem with cleaning lady, which she ackmowledged as well, is its still you who needs to put things away. all cleaning ladies do is clean the space literally but they wont organise your stuff. organjsing stuff is much harder. if everything is organjsed, first, house looks clean already and all u need to do is sweep and/or mop and wipe surfaces and its so easy to do that when the house is uncluttered - no need for a cleaning lady if house is tidy. the tidying part is harder than actually cleaning. cleaning ladies clean, they dont tidy up.

I don't understand why would anyone let their kid eat or drink (something other than water) around the house?! people eat on table. that way the mess is only at the table and under it.

at work? at childcare? they behave differently there. and remember, the facility at childcare is not the same as a house. it is set up specifically so that every corner has a place for the children. in he house , we try to do that too but of course theres lapses here and there. it is not perfect. kids are nor perfectly mature enough. even our own spouses make mess too. even we do too! do u have kids of your own hilla? those that actually live in your house?

Badly hosted video, I got less than one minute in before pausing and commenting. Honey, dont explain that toddlers are messy. Dont use 1,000 words in place of a 5 word sentence. Give your info clear and concise. Dont stretch it out for the love of a camera on yourself.
