I agree. Their new lineup is impressive and their cards complement each other. You won't get that kind of easy points accumulation with Chase. You might get that with Amex, but you're going to pay for it.

Good video. One additional tidbit about the Citi AAdvantage Executive Elite card (that gets you AAdmiral's club access) is that you can add up to 8 AU for free and each of them get their own AADmiral's club membership access. Each cardholder can also bring 2 guests in for free. So you could theoretically get 27 people into an AAdmiral's club with just the one credit card account.

My first CC was a Citi secured card and I was able to product change to Citi Custom Cash which was nice.

omfg i was about to cancel my citi AAdvantage card. yes now i get to keep my history building!

These are some awesome tips to keep in mind. I think personally, those virtual card numbers are going to be the most practical for me. This was one thing I really liked about the X1 card for free trials and such (although I don’t have the X1 yet), so this is cool to know I can do that with my custom cash. Thanks for the video!

Citi may be loose with the reconsideration but I was told by them if you are rejected due to inquiries they are not able to override the decision.

Do you know the exact amount of inquiries that would cause them to deny a credit card application?

It's also partnered with Turkish airlines which has 15k round trip tickets to/from Hawaii. And points are a 1:1 trade.

Ben, is it true that Citi no longer allows us to product change to a Citi Custom Cash card if we already have one/more Custom Cash cards? That's a big downer, if true. I was planning on getting a Citi Premier and a year later, PC-ing it to a Custom Cash...

Remember to be approved for a credit card is approved by a computer, it’s like playing Russian roulette.

I'm not following you at @6:20. Can you explain why I would need a Citi premier card in addition to the custom cash card to get that 2x point value you described? What would stop me from "transferring the points out to an airline partner to book business/first class" tickets (at a higher value) directly from my Citi Custom Cash account (without the premier card)? I'm not super familiar with citi (only have the Costco Card so far). Please help me understand, as this strategy is enticing to me!

Custom cash and double cash cards are cashback cards, they're not transferable to airlines n hotels but citi premier is. If u have the premier card, double cash or custom. U can transfer/merge ur cashback from double n custom to your premier card. So those cashback rewards would become points. Now you can transfer ur points reward to airlines n hotels.

Thank you Ben for another great video that's well laid out and easy to follow with visual aids. You can get 10X on a $1000 Airbnb booking by selecting Airbnb's two payment option when you book. Just split the two payments over two separate Citi monthly statements. The Custom Cash gives you 5X on Airbnb. And the Premier Transfer Partners give 2X on that. No other 2-card combination will give you that on Airbnb. In my case, $500 is 7% utilization on my $6800 Custom Cash. I could go hiking or mountain biking at a special place up in the mountains every month, and I could take my Citi Premier along to buy gas and groceries and dining at 3X. And it all pools together into points I can use to book a vacation using an airline. It's clean and efficient. So what do I do for 5X groceries in the months where I booked Airbnb on the Custom Cash? Just use my AMX Gold Card for 4X. AMX Membership Rewards can be multiplied 2.2X to become 8.8X with Transfer Partners. With that combination you are always winning.

I applied on Friday for the Custom cash card and it stayed a pending status but waited until today Tuesday and no new update from Citi and then I google the application line to call and when I got finally so I called in told the representative that my application it’s says a pending and she double verify my personal information and put me in wait status two times and the in the last moment when she came back she told that congratulations you were approved for the Citibank credit card with a limit of $8,600 and with a APR 26.99% and they pull my Equifax report and in the time of the inquiry I had a score of 702 so I got very excited 😂 and emotionally also because more than 10 to 15 years that I don’t have a Citi credit card. Very lovely!!!

I feel you brother 👊 For the past 2 years I've been trying to get the Custom Cash but kept getting denied. I waited till my credit score went up to 720 and I finally got approved. Feels good knowing we'll be getting that sweet 5% Cashback

Can you product change a co-branded card? On transferring points is the 100k limit per calendar year, rolling year, or anniversary year?

I tried the reconsideration two times and was denied. I have excellent credit utilization 2% never late. Reconsideration department is a waste of time.

Does Citi Card employ people from Central America? I check my cards weekly and have been transferred out of the automotive system to be asked intrusive questions then receive phone calls claiming my card has been corrupted . I keep being transferred to people who claim to be Central America employees.

If you doubt the authenticity of a call you get claiming to be from citi. Hang up and call the number on the back of the card

Same, I've been trying to get the custom cash for 2 years and kept getting rejected. I was around 700 credit score at the time. And now I racked up 10 inquiries in 2 years 😂

Would you prefer getting to have your points, miles, or hotel rewards converted to cash or crypto for a much more dollar value?? If so ask me how?

Haven't finished watching yet so maybe you say it but citi didn't let me product change the Citi Costco visa to anything

I like my citi credit cards 💳 I had the double cash back card. I had 6,200 for so long and they gave me an increase of 14,200. I had to call them I did not believe it. But it was true.

I would just keep the double cash and apply for the custom cash so you can get the sign up bonus

I just got approved for the city custom cash Could i product change to the Costco Visa card

I fucked up and went with chase but citi seems to be the way to go. May change up my set to citi. Their rewards are so much better than chase

I started with the Chase setup and love it. I've got a pretty good AmEx set up as well. Thinking about adding a Citi setup now. If you don't have much spend it might not make sense to have multiple setups, but I have a couple of businesses I run, so that helps.

@@JonathanDutton makes sense. I try to put everything on one or two cards so I don’t want to switch over until I max out chase first. But citi seems like overall it would give me the highest return on what I buy so I def wanna be check them out here soon

one of my hacks is that citi is one of the only card issuers that allows you to pay through their phone system by debit card!

If it is a store card no, but if it is the master card I don’t see why not. There are 2 Versions of the personal best buy card.

Credit cards will hurt you if you don’t pay them, and credit cards don’t make you rich even if you pay the minimum monthly payment.

Never ever get a Citi bank credit card! Citi Credit Card are the worst....they will continues to add interest charges on your accounts AFTER you closed, and they don't tell you until month and months later with a bill.
