10 Cheap Dupes of High-End Antique Home Decor/Get the Look for Less
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video, I duplicate (dupe) 10 vintage and antique items I recently saw at a high-priced antique mall in Texas. These items sold for over $500, but I spent less than $5 to replicate each of them. The high end dupes include an antique clock, an Old English decor jar, a fox hunting themed foot stool, a pressed botanical, a vintage sifter with wood handle, an antique lard tin, an antique maple syrup tin, a vintage pear tray, an owl pillow, and a framed vintage strawberry print.

I agree completely, in fact that little table with horses and hounds had me laughing--it really showed a sense of humor, unlike the original! There was whimsey in the black tray with pears too, so I guess loosing her voice let her inner humor shine.

After watching your videos it validates my opinion that crafters/dyiers truly are artists! TFS!
Every dupe was prettier than originals!
Sherry, your creativity is a true gift. Everything looks better than th e "antiques". It amazes me how effortlessly you create such beautiful items. You make it look sooo easy!

Thank you, Christie! Your are so kind. Everything doesn’t always go smoothly. As you saw, I messed up on the green jar. I should have cut the paper to be straight on the sides before I decoupaged it to the jar, but I figured I could fix it. Luckily, it worked out.
I hope you’ll forgive my raspy voice. I picked up a cold and sore throat this week. Really hope you enjoy these dupes. Be sure to let me know if there was something you were hoping to see duped that I left out! Take care and have a great week, friends!

I actually love all of the projects that you duped. I have to say that goldenrod print is my favorite. So simple but amazing. I also like your fox hunting jug. It's far better than the one in the antique mall!

You knocked these out of the park. All of them were so good. Love your dupe videos.
The syrup can was outstanding!!!! The lard can the same! The strawberry print and dried goldenrod are my fav I think. I loved doing prints and framing them for my home years ago.The frame with the goldenrod was so pretty.

I loved the pressed flower! Looked so much better than the inspiration piece! All dupes were amazing!
I would never want the word ‘dupe’ to cheapen your creative projects. What I love about your channel is that you think outside the box, use real items we can all find in our resale/thrift stores and give clear instructions. BTW, I don’t have a fav. I would have one of them in my home or give to a girlfriend.
I could, literally, watch your videos for hours... if I let myself do just that. My favorite time to watch your awe-inspiring videos is before bed, not because I find them boring but because watching you is relaxing & I LOVE your ideas and your amazing creativity!
You never cease to amaze me with creativity. I love all the dupes. 😊
Pure genius! I of course love them all but my fave was the maple syrup can❤️ And your projects all turned out better than the expensive ones!

Love how everything you made was more beautiful than the originals, that’s a true talent!
I loved every one! My favorite is the pressed flower! And the pear tray! And the green jar! Oh all of them!
Ha ha, your apple label for your sifter arrangement is from where I live. Okanagan Valley, BC. As a matter of fact, I live right up in the orchards...surrounded by them actually.

That is a crazy coincidence! I had trouble finding an apple label in the public domain, but then luckily, I found that one!
My favorite was the pressed goldenrod labeled with its Latin name! A close 2nd, though, was the green & gold painted jar with fox hunting scene. When I finally have some time, I intend to try my hand at a few of these myself!
Your creativity knows no bounds. Really inspiring.
Vintage and green ( both cost wise and environmentally wise) Blessed and safe days!
LOVED the clock, it looked so much better than the one at the store. The antiqued jar was wonderful as well. You have a great gift for decorating, and dupes!
So glad you showed us how to quickly dry botanicals (never occurred to me...) and I will make the owl pillow asap! Thank you for the weekly inspiration, Sherry.
This is amazing, you dupes are lovelier than the real antiques
I LIKE YOUR ORIGINAL WORK BETTER THAN YOUR DUPES! YOU ARE INDEED GIFTED.
Loving the pressed goldenrod! We often overlook the beauty in such simple things. Also, thanks for providing the links to the images that you used for the other projects.

Thank you, Nancy! You are so welcome for the links! i don’t think we should have to pay for vintage images that are in the public domain, so if I find them, I want you to be able to print them, too!
I really enjoy watching you create amazing dupes for pennies! Hope you feel better!
Oh the owl cushion…! 💕💕💕 Another good way to press flowers is to sandwich the flowers between white paper, then sheets of newspaper. Place them under a hallway rug, kitchen rug or somewhere that has high traffic but doesn’t move. In a week or so you will have lovely pressed flowers& plants. It’s how we used to do it as children. It worked so well it was almost like cheating!
Shari, this was amazing! Your dupes are beautiful. I think they are better than the originals. Awesome!!!
You keep my creativity alive in a period of great chaos ❤
Hi Sherry! Sometimes duping is the best revenge! I suffered a bit from the prices at last week's market, and I feel you've made things right with the world by creating these dupes. The strawberry print is perfection when coordinated with your strawberry porcelain, and the lard can is perfect at 1% of the price. As for the goldenrod piece: nothing is a weed when given a Latin name! PS: I enjoyed your lovely new music.
I love when we diyers can dupe a look or up cycle something for so much less. Some person is spending a lot of money for what we do for Pennies! I love your stuff you made, better. Love Maple Syrup the most because of the time period it resembles❤️Thank you for your printables. I love your diys, thank you!

I just knew that the visit to the antique mall would result in inspiration rather than purchases! Love your dupes especially the dried botanical and the clock, both which I liked your version best.
Your dupes look even better then the antiques!!
Excellent dupes, Sherry. I especially like the hunt scene projects. You never cease to amaze me.
Everything was exquisite this week. I loved the clock and the hunting scene footrest.

Thank you so much, Deborah! I really appreciate those kind words!☺️
Such good work! Those are all winners. My favourite is the owl pillow, but I'm a sucker for soft furnishings. I like that you have a deep collection stuff in your stash to use for your projects. Can't be a serious crafter without a stash. Save it all, you never know when you can use it for sure.
These were incredible dupes!! It’s hard to pick a favorite 😅
I think the tray was the best. So simple yet beautiful.I love to watch how you turn very simple things into high end home design pieces. Always a pleasure to watch.
You have outdone yourself! Each of your reproductions are MUCH MUCH better than the originals! Beautiful work!!!
Fabulous recreations of the items. The golden rod pressed picture, strawberry print, and the pear tray were my favourites, but they were all so good!
The goldenrod was my favorite, too. What I liked most was seeing inspiration that could be copied to match your decor. When my decor is very different from yours, I see how I can be inspired by your items and make them my own. Thank you.
I love your inexpensive dupes and how it's done.
Oh My Goodness Sherry....honey it's extremely hard to pick a favorite as each dupe you've created here is by far, much better than your inspiration of each item. Thank You for sharing/teaching 🙂❤
Well you did it again. You are a master at taking anything and turning it into a beautiful decorative piece. The golden rod reminds me of South Georgia where I use to live. The clock is so nice too. Love them all. 💕

everything looked great but my favorite was the green and gold jar with the fox hunting scene. I'm doing an equestrian theme in my living room. Thanks for all you do. 😘
These are all beautiful, which I knew they would be. I can’t pick a favourite but I love the maple syrup can and the pressed leaf in the golden frame and I have a third one, the tray,I think it looked awesome. TFS Sherry and hope you and your husband have a very blessed week.
Impressive! The lard, pressed flower, and hunting pieces came out awesome!
So many of yours were far nicer looking than those antiques, especially the clock!😊
You never disappoint! Another video full of creative and imaginative projects that only you could dupe😉
I like the pears. I knew you would bring back a lot of ideas. I was shocked at the prices they were asking in TX. The pears were so pretty.
Sherry, I just LOVE that you made that little stool out of a cutting board! The green and gold jar turned out so well. It looks like it was always that way. Antiques absolutely have their place, but thrifting is so much more fun. 🙂

My favorite was the can turned into a vase. I also liked the strawberry print. Oh, who am I kidding? I liked them all!!
My favorite is the pear tray. Thank you for the inspiration!
Hi Sherry! My son is going through some health challenges. We love to watch your videos. I love your detailed explanations. And we LOVE to say with you Let’s get started!!!! Thank you for your excellent content! You’ve inspired us to purchase some Thrift Store finds, and some Dollar Tree items, some Mod Podge and paint and create some beauty of our own. It also is a great distraction for my son from his pain and insomnia. I’m a grateful mom! Don’t change a thing!!!
Loved your creations more than the store's items! Thank you Sherry!
Sherry you are a master at high end dupes!!! I love every single one of your crafts.

These were all beautifully done! I love “dupes “ it challenges you to see what you’re made of!!! Awesome job!
I loved all the items you recreated, but I lovd the old maple syrup tin the best! And I still love how you rust all your tins! Everything you recreate turns out to be like a treasured find! Looking forward to see what you come up with next week!
I much prefer your dupes rather than the inspiration pieces 🌈
All of your dupes turned out better then it’s original inspiration piece❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Your dupes look better the originals.!! As always you knocked it out of the park!!
I LOVE the “Weeds” 😊 in the gold frame! Just AWESOME Look!
Loved the flower dupe. It really put the other one to shame. The clock what were they thinking? I thought it was a hot mess. The owl I love. The maple syrup can, the pig can was big! When I saw the strawberry picture I said Sherry can do that toot sweet! You are so good at what you do. I think you were born for this, Comes so easy for you. 10 more days till I go to Amish country :) Love ya and God Bless.
All of your dupes are better than the originals! I love the Clock! Everything is gorgeous!
I loved all of these dupes!! They were amazing! You rock! Some of my reactions while watching: “Ooh, that syrup can vase is gorgeous!” “Wow, I think Sherry’s pressed botanical is way prettier than the original!!” Oh, what a clever ‘fix’ on the…sifter (using the beads), the owl pillow (figuring out how to make it bigger), the green fox-themed jar, and the pear tray!!!!!” and (last but not least!), I love how you left the legs unpainted on the fox-themed stool!! Bravo Sherry!!
All projects get a thumbs up. I like them better then the antiques. 👍
Sherrie... there's nothing you can't do!!! You do great work 👏...TFS your talents 👏
I liked the decorative jar and the syrup can the most. They were the most realistic.
The pressed goldenrod was my favorite dupe as well.
The framed Goldenrod! Stunning!
I loved that you were almost "appalled" by the high prices of the antiques and decided to do them yourself. I always look at antiques skeptically as usually people pay way too much for them. I have had to be more selective when I repurpose or dupe things because I am in an apartment and don't have as much space. I LOVE all your inspirations and ideas Sherry! Thanks again
I like your dupes better. You always add a touch more that brings out the beauty in your work. Love the Strawberry picture. Always pleased with your videos, never disappointed. Thank you 🌻🍁
Wonderful dupes of the overpriced antiques, and yours looked even better than the originals. Thanks for the inspiration!

Dear Shari, as always you do not disappoint. Each dupe was better than the last. Although all were exceptional, the strawberry picture was my favorite. You were right, yours was more authentic looking than the original. Hugs💞👏
All of your dupes were much better than all of the expensive inspirations from the antique store.
Sherry, your dupes were by far comparative to the antique versions and I loved your items better. Those antiques have nothing on you. You always amaze me with your amazing dupes. Thank you.

Thank you, Angie! Well, now you need to make a few of the ones that you like!
Thank you for all your inspiration and showing us that if you love something it doesn't have to cost a fortune everything you duped turned out beautiful, I was in Kentucky the first week of September visiting my 95 year old grandmother who just had heart surgery, I was helping her clean and taking care of her, she is an avid gardener and was hating not being able to go outside, so I thought if she cannot go out I am going to make sure she can see out, so as I was cleaning her windows she said, do you see all the goldenrod, fall is here. I will definitely be making that dupe for her, because as a child I always remember her drying flowers and making beautiful artwork out of it. Thanks for the memory and I will be making the strawberry print for myself. Thanks for sharing with the world and I hope you get to feeling better soon.

I loved your faux sifter. I had to smile when I saw your magazine rack. I got one cheaply several years ago and accidentally left it outside through a Maine winter. Well, it weathered beautifully. Between my SO and me, we sawed the spindles into rustic carrot shapes. I then dry brushed them with cream, 2 different oranges, and purple (heirloom carrot!) colors to simulate parnips and carrots. I inserted different greeneries into holes drilled in the ends and tied 3 different ones together with gingham ribbon or jute. They look great for both Easter and Harvest season! In all cases, I liked your projects better than the antiques!!!
