Id go for the porsche boxster. Did used to have an eye for the E93 330i in white with red interior and the m performance twin 5 spokes but the 2011 LCi ones are going for near 10k and hard to find a manual one

Loved my 9-3 aero convertible!

In my opinion the volvo c70 is just an over priced ford focus cc. By the way were they built at the same place also? The convertible versions?

I always find convertibles a bit disconcerting to drive, even though it's not like I've rolled any car (even if I've tried pretty hard on occasion 🤣). On the rare occasions I've driven them, I've never felt comfortably pushing them at all... Best looking...honourable mentions to the F355, 300SL, Mk1 Corvette and most of the 60s, but the winner is clear: The Corsa B 😆 Ok fine, maybe the Z8.

I like your lunch downs on cars under £XXXX. Usually, you're not for from my tastes. This time, I'm stunned that you missed off your list of a MERCEDES CLK. For under £5K you could get behind the wheel of a 2009 CLK280 with 3.0L V6 under your right foot.

SLK and Z4 for honorable mentions, how about convertibles for under 10k?

Definitely should have the 9-3 in the top 5 in my opinion. Owned a 9-3 aero convertible and wished I had kept it, bug couldn't afford to run 2 cars.

I loved my spyder however it has a chrome centre console that is angled perfectly to ensure that the sun bounces directly into your eyes! 👀

These are magic. Consistency is frightening. If you run dry remember trades love their vans

As a former alfa spider 939 owner twice over Get the roof serviced because if it breaks good luck fixing it. They play up regularly as well so it can be a tense ownership experience when you’re aware of the lack of spare parts available. Gearboxes are an issue with the 2.2 and timing chains on all jts petrols They also handle like a pig as well so don’t think it’s going to handle like the gtv and classic spiders

Clk500 slightly out of budget for a good convertible. Clk350 should be in there though. Had one a few years ago. Loved it

Don’t buy a E93 320i, it couldn’t pull the skin off a rice pudding. Due to the weight of the car with the hardtop think minimum is 6 cylinder and ideally 335i. I acknowledge if you want a clean one which is LCI looking at more like 12k but you do get a DCT for that as well. Think mx-5 is still ruling this category mind.

Title is a bit of an odd one. Cheap cars... for summer? Anyone buying a different car for a different season likely isn't buying something cheap. Even failing that, we're in the UK - we only have 3 days of summer!
