They say with Roth IRA, the money you are contributing has already been taxed. At any time for any reason, you can withdraw your contributions tax-free and penalty-free. So can i put a portion of my 5%(HYSA) in index funds? I also have 400k in an annuity. How do i maximize all this to make gains this year?

Consider hiring financial advisors, estate planners or tax experts. They can provide specialized knowledge and help you navigate complex financial decisions. Right now treasuries and HYSAs pay 4.5-5% risk free, do that.

Low six-figure income, no debt, nearing mortgage payoff ($400k property), age 43. Invested over 15x annual salary, amazed by focus on scraping by in retirement. Aim for surplus. My goal: retire at 55 with $5M. Unless the markets crash, these two points should align. I'm quite lucky to have started working with a financial advisor early.

People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.

Is depreciation a deferral? Does depreciation have to be paid back at the sale of the property? If so, are there any tactics to eliminate that repayment?

No depreciation is not a deferral. Depreciation is a loss in value of an asset and is typically “recaptured” at the sale.

Thanks for taking the time to make this. Question: I am about to close my first real estate deal, a remodel of duplex. Since it is a live in remodel and hold, or a live in flip depending on the market, what is the importance of putting the duplex in an llc inside of a trust? Or should I just keep it under my name, and after 2 years, do the 1031 echange? I am looking to do more of these deals in the future. And I despise taxes. Thanks guys. Kyle

If you live in it for 2 year you can sell tax free.

can you avoid CGT by having two LLC's 1031 exchange assets between each other before depreciation runs out, to reset the depreciation timer as well? Say at about 25 years?

The two party doing transaction shouldn't be related. If that is met, you can go head and do the exchange

Business owners really have to be their own book keeper and do their own research on tax strategies.
