Yeah, as russian girl I dont mind about representation ( I look like Cloe, but had have Sasha dolls), but I dont understand why are russian character in East-Arabian collection, and she is future teller? It is really weird.

it’s not just Barbie they take shots at. Anyone who has played the console version of the Bratz Really Rock video game will know that in the Fashion Promenade, there is a shoe store called Hot Heelz. And the logo looks strikingly similar to a certain toy car franchise Mattel owns. Coincidence? I think not!

I only ever had one Bratz doll, she was Yazmin, she had a cool brown and white hip hop outfit with gold accents and one of her accessories as a cassette player her size that could actually open and close with interchangeable little fake cassettes!! Loved her!!

Yazmin was always my girl that I identified the most with. Though, her and I never shared a skin tone, I loved her hair because it was a similar shade to mine. She also had the same eye color as me growing up. She's still by far my favorite and I'd do anything for my Pretty Princess.

Agreed! I think a lot of kids gravitate towards dolls that look like themselves, so if there's no such doll, they're definitely going to notice. And hell, if nothing else, variety is always good for toy sales. Barbie sales went up a lot in 2019 and I think that had a lot to do with the greater emphasis on diversity. If the majority of your dolls are white ladies with long blonde hair and blue eyes, you're only going to sell so many, how many of the same doll do kids really want? But if you have dolls with darker skin, or blue hair, or different body types, that's more appealing to kids because they can turn those dolls into different characters. It's like, would a kid rather have fifty Wolverine figures, or one of each X-Men character?

These dolls were so cool, the fact they came with 2 outfits already made them my favorites as a kid. Oh and their feet were massive, so I never lost theme like Barbie shoes

Surprisingly I loved Yasmin more of her personality related to me as of course I couldn’t really find a doll that looked exactly like me and has a personality I really admired I got my first two brats dolls with my aunt because my mom never let me harden saying “they dress too revealing” but of course I proceeded to watch all the movies and TV series. 😭🤚

My favourite doll was always yasmin, though I'm Australian and not Latina I felt she looked the most like me growing up, she had light brown hair, brown eyes and we even have the same beauty spot under our eye. I used to be teased for my beauty spot so when a doll came out with one too! I was pretty happy. Sasha, Jade, Nevera and Fianna were my other favourites

Same here, but I was also around 15 yrs old. Now that I'm much older I thought they looked a little slutty for certain outfits as a kid, but they are some that I really like now

The Bratz Limo was the only thing that got me to stop biting my nails when I was little! I wanted that limo so badly I quit my habit! 😂 still my favorite piece that I got. When the Bratz boys came out with a motorcycle my brother, who had no intrest in the dolls, wanted the bike for his collection.

My favorite dolls growing up were Bratz, My Scene & Monster High but i only had Monster High dolls. I also still have all of my dolls, I'm saving them in case i ever have a child

At least the dolls she alters are just old, used ones. (but it is a shame she ended up doing it with a valuable doll!) But I agree, a lot of these "wholesome" dolls appeal more to parents than to kids. Kids rarely have the same hangups about body and makeup than adults do.

So excited for new bratz but I just teleported back to the early days of youtube when you showed the jeepersmedia mike Mozart clip 😱😂

I love how diverse bratz dolls were. I loved barbies but bratz were always my favorites due to all the racial diversity, funky outfits, wide range of hair textures, etc. i never wanted only dolls that looked like me bc it was boring to me. I got a lot of grief from boomers for buying Black, Asian, and Latina dolls but i didnt care what they said bc i wanted my dolls to be accurate to how the real world was. I always saw people of many different races everywhere and so i was not happy only having white dolls or a disproportionate amount of white dolls and straight haired dolls over other races and hair textures. The addition of openly wlw dolls made me happy to see too, especially bc one of them was a top favorite growing up. My favorite two bratz dolls were a sasha doll with little braids and roxxi with her alt fashion outfits (i also had a crush on her when i was little, even tho i didnt know what being bi was, i still had crushes on both girls and boys. glad to know that shes canonically queer bc little me always headcanoned her as lesbian).

Ok but this video brought me back alot of nostalgia. Of course I had some Bratz dolls when I was young but what I was more obsessed with was those Bratz activity coloring books that modeled like teen and fashion magazines. I would seriously dig through the coloring book section every time we went to the store looking for a new one I could buy. 😂

It would be kind of interesting to see a doll released with two interchangeable heads, one with make-up and one without, celebrating both the natural beauty and the fun of make-up.
