    **Note: Just a side edit I was under the impression Retals was told BEFORE the V1 series but he was actually told after they were eliminated that series still during the tournament. I began this video prior to regional 1 so based off that and for that reason Karmine Corp is of course no longer speculated and is their roster for the fall split! Apologies for the confusion.

    Leth is an incredibly smart and consistent player, but that's also kinda his downfall. Good video. One thing about the situation with sypical is that his controller was not at fault. The admins' review concluded that he did push the button and the input went into the computer but the game itself didn't register. This has happened to other pros as well and is unrelated to his controller.

    @@miquelmoorrees6010 I think he is but what I'm saying is that it's completely irrelevant. People are implying that because he messed with his controller it was broken and at fault for the error. The tournament admins have input logs though and they said that his controller properly output the input and that the computer registered the button press. According to them, the fault was with the game itself (which means that it would have happened with literally any other controller).

  • @kiiturii

    @kiiturii

    yeah I don't really get what the controversy was about. Even if it was a controller fault.. like is that really how you wanna win? In a kickoff your opponents literally can't even come challenge the ball so you score a freebie? It sucks to celebrate and then have the win taken away, but did they actually expect to get the win from that goal lol? clearly they could see the opponent didn't even reach the ball right? and resetting a kickoff is like one of the least disruptive moments to reset, it's not like they did some crazy play just to have it taken away

    About the Leth vs FK stuff, correct me if I'm wrong, saw it back in the day, but Leth needed to 3-0 for the #1 seed. So when FK won game 1, RIP sweep, it may as well have been over. The rest of the series was a formality. That's why Leth went clown car after.

    As a good friend of Luc, the situation with Prestige Esports actually made and still makes me so mad. After countless times of hearing or being told that Sworn may finally going to get pay his players’ salaries, he never ended up doing it and also deleted his social media to avoid contact by his players/staff. Sucks to see your friend being betrayed. It’s rare, in my opinion, to see a contact be violated by someone other than the signatory. Heartbreaking stuff.

Saw another ahmad (goes by a7md) who’s a very exciting 1s player and was excited to potentially see him in rlcs only to find out he can’t play because he’s from Iraq. A lot of it isn’t psyonix’s fault. The Morocco thing is probably an over enforcement of their rules but the Iraq thing has to do with sanctions against the country that psyonix has to follow by law

  • @RangersFan94

    @RangersFan94

    Жыл бұрын

    Psyonix doesn't have any choice in the matter, Iraq has international sanctions placed on them by the U.S. - Psyonix would be breaking the law by allowing Iraqi players to participate in RLCS because they're a U.S. based company, it's that simple. If they do want to play, there are ways around the sanction (hence how there are Iraqi players in MLS, etc, albeit very few) but it's a complicated process and has to be initiated by the player.

    @@hamzazilani6398 A couple more examples are the Chinese government not allowing the "normal" version of Rocket League to be released there. Cuba should be obvious, they've been embargoed by the U.S. for decades. Morocco because of the West Sahara conflict. The Iraq sanction reasoning goes for Afghanistan, the Balkans, Belarus, Burma, Central African Republic, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Nicaragua, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, Venezuela, Yemen, and Zimbabwe too because they're all sanctioned by the U.S. as well. The rest are all just countries that there's no point going through getting tax/visa info for because the chances of a player being from there is slim to none - e.g. Antarctica, the Vatican City, etc.

    This isn't mentioned about the first situation; what caused even more controversy is that Rise tweeted out that Moist didn't actually drop out from the tournament due to LGBT discrimination issues from SA but due to other reasons. Of course, Twitter and Reddit took it upon themselves to complain about Rise making that statement, deeming him edgy and -phobic. While in reality, their coach Noah capitalized on the situation to push his political narrative under false pretenses.

    How is the Vatira - Aztral swap "a downgrade for both teams" ? Aztral is a beast and has the experience that Vatira doesn't and i'm sure Moist will still perform this year. Karmine Corp just got one of the best players itw and a perfect addition to Itachi's gameplay, and the new team looks stronger than the previous Itachi-Noly-Aztral that was arguably a top 5 teams itw at the end of last season. I get that ppl are sad because they liked this Moist trio and doubt Vatira's decision due to him being only 16yo. But personnally i respect him a lot for having the courage to start over from 0 and train/improve again with a new team after being so close to win Worlds with Moist. The kid literally joined the org he's a fan of and is trying to live his dream of winning Worlds in his "dream org", this alone should be enough to consider his move worth it whatever happens this season.

    9 months late, but I wonder if part of why certain countries aren't allowed to participate has anything to do with potentially having to fly out those players from said countries? I heard one of the reasons some regions don't get more major spots is because it costs significantly more to fly teams out of their countries. I haven't confirmed this info, but it seemed plausible.

    usually your vids are so accurate but this was sad. Should have been titled biggest controversies of the 21-22 year of rl. plus most of these were just extremely petty banter or roster moves that could easily be topped by stuff that went down for the 6 years before this vid essentially takes place. And ik that the first/leth "drama" was in there but that's literally only one. didn't mean to come across as harsh here just stating my opinion, i think it'd get resolved if you changed the title, unlikely as that is.

    @@frost2272 The point is though that the coach lied and tried to make a political statement out of it, and trying to look like some kind of moralist by stating that. I however don't think that the reason you listed warrants an apology at all. Religion is not some kind of end-all excuse to rationalize every sort of behavior. Not every Muslim majority country issues the death penalty to gay people, but SA is one of them that has in the past. I think that it is a pretty good reason for a gay person not wanting to be associated with those types of countries right...? Similarly to you I could say that a country not wanting to associate with a whole sexuality deserves an apology. Morals are subjective at the end of the day.

    Esports is a meritocracy which preserves competitive integrity. No one pays attention to the WCB players because they are not good enough for pro level. There's no reason why girls can't compete, I'm sure they're strong enough to twiddle some joysticks 😂. There isn't a significant advantage for men like there is in traditional sports though you could argue that men's reaction times are quicker.
