Hey guys! Remember that there are least a few women watch fanatics here who love both your channels. The Baby G, ref BG169R can be had for $50! 200m, 7 time zones, all the g-shock goodness.. this was the must have of the 90’s and for many of us, along with Swatch, was our gateway drug. I still have and love my very original.. ❤❤

F1_556_ That's not normal. Mine loses about 10 seconds a day. Which is pretty normal for a watch in this price range. You should have a watch repair expert take a look at it. Usually checking the watch out is free. Then, pending on cost of servicing or repair, decide if it's worth it to fix it, forget about it, or buy a new watch.

Me too! It was my baby, and I was fascinated every time I would watch the second hand sweep so smoothly (compared to all my eco-drive quartz watches) then it was my beater for about a year of landscaping/handyman work and now she probably loses a minute or more a day. Where I live the only place that'll service it would charge me about as much as what I paid for it back in the day. Sadly they're not as cheap as they used to be, huh? Hey, maybe one day it'll wind up on my kid's wrist, but I'll have to see how I feel about putting it in that kind of danger ; ) Form what I've read/heard, that watch probably brought more people into the market for automatics than just about any other watch since the 00's.

This video was wonderful, guys. In fact it, BLOWS MY MIND, that you guys haven’t done it sooner. All of the pieces you recommended are perfectly suited for someone beginning the watch collecting journey. The Casio DW6900 is also a cracking good piece. If some one is looking for the aesthetics of the DW290 (or can’t find on because TGV bought them all) and wants the GShock specs, I would definitely look at it. Multitudes of colors and spec combos. Also, I would recommend any of the Citizen entry level watches. They are on par with any offering from Seiko and don’t have the quality control issues. You can never go wrong with a Citizen. There is a reason it is the biggest watch company in he world! Thank you both so much for the video. It was enlightening and entertaining, as always. Hope you are both well. Onward and upward!

For me, value Casio can’t be beat. I had the early ones, pre g-shock; but in 83 I got a rather physical job and I broke 2-3 watches. I bought a g-shock and what a game changer for me. I wore g-shocks from 84-2018. I still have them, I just just can’t get myself to throw any of them away. They are beat to hell, but they just keep going. I did try and buy the Ironman timex and it broke in a week at work, never again. I have a bunch of Invicta watches, nice looking and feels so nice and you can buy so many at a reasonable price. I’m a bigger guy and I like bigger watches. I stopped wearing watches when I retired. I’m glad to see your list since 95% if not 100% of my watch brands made your list. Casio, Invicta, Swatch and Seiko.

Awesome video as always. One of my favorite Casio's that is routinely overlooked is the MTP-S120L-3AVCF. It's a solar field watch for under $100 bucks. Stainless steel case and screw down case back, 100m WR, 42mm case with 22mm lugs. Beautiful, brushed, fixed bezel that reflects light quite elegantly. The strap it comes with is garbage but the watch itself looks stellar on Nato straps. I love it.

I just picked up an SNKK27 on a whim (A blue and yellow "Speed Racer" Seiko 5) off Amazon because the price dropped to $65 for a bit and have been blown away by it. The dial finishing and quality match some much, much more expensive watches I have. It's got so much personality. Like my DW290 (bought at TGV's recommendation and well loved) it's a testament to the fact that price and worth are not the same thing.

I have 3 duro’s: $35 for blue, $15 for black & gold & $15 for classic black. The black is my favorite-seconds hand hitting the marks perfectly & rotating bezel having no play whatsoever. I put an orange silicone band on for awhile, but went back to the black resin strap for the diver look instead of looking more like a fashion watch. I don’t see why so many people have a problem with the stock resin band? I find it perfectly comfortable & I feel a diver watch should be on this type of band since it’s supposed to be exposed to water. 🔥

Great video, would watch more like this! The Invicta Pro Diver was my second watch after a Seiko. I bought it with the intention of modding, but was so impressed I couldn't bring myself to change it!

Love your picks gents. I love my under 100 dollar quartz watches. I love my Timex, Casio G-Shocks. I notice a lot of the lower end watches have plenty of character to them that more expensive watches tend not to have.

Part of the beauty of the 40mm Invicta Pro Diver is that is available in easily 40+ color combinations. There's at least 25 dial colors. Case & bracelet combinations include Stainless Steel, Two-tone, Gold tone, Black, IP Blue and Iridescent. They're now available with color matching canvas straps. These watches are accurate and reliable. At one point in time I had 18 in my collection; all different. Here's a tidbit a lot of people don't know: If the model# ends with "ob", it has a coin-edge bezel. If not, the bezel is scalloped.

The Timex Ironman was my second watch ever when I was 7 years old. I still remember the day my parents bought it to me. The 100m water resistance "blown my mind" back then, true story.
