I’m 51 and I’m on a hiatus from dating 😬 and I just want to explore…. I have had a cycle of bad relationship experiences and I’m ready to just explore new things find what I really like to do and discover what I’ve been missing. I retire in 3 years and I’m not trying to settle but I’m ready for a adventure. Thanks for this video it gave me some confidence in my decision.

@@orianaztar Hi sorry just saw this. When do you plan on going? Depending on what type of stay you want, I stayed near 45th street, Manhattan/Midtown East, and I felt like it was pretty central. I walked to 5th Street, apx. 25 minute walk. Everything seemed nearby and this is where I went (I went during Christmastime). -Bryant Park -The Rockefeller Center -Macy's -Saks 5th Avenue -Upper East Side -Central Park -St. Peter's Cathedral -The Vessel (I walked and only recommend walking it during the morning). -Time Square -etc. For Cheap/good souvenirs: Memories of NY. There is so MUCH. I stayed 3-4 days but didn't go down to Brooklyn. I think every area has a bit different vibe, so you can do some research and see what type of stay you want and what area best suits your plan and ofc stay safe! :)

I would also suggest Chicago. It's an urban environment but it's not as extreme as New York. There's alot of great attractions and museums. Theres shopping and very delicious food. It's an easy city to navigate because the mass transit system is very easy to use. It's not as dangerous as it's made out to be. The areas with tourist attractions (downtown and north side) are very safe. It's certain neighborhoods on west and south sides that have high crime.

But maybe a trip back toward home might happen. I'm loving your videos to help me think about my first solo trip in 30 years. I had just two days in NOLA and wanted good seafood. French Quarter seemed way too touristy. Walked by a distant Voodoo Temple and Marriage Garden about 7 PM that was open for a wedding. They had a little shop and I asked the shopkeeper for her favorite seafood. She said "it's a dive and in a bad part of town". She called and they were open. Getting there was like driving to the twilight zone, but when I arrived, the lot was full of small company vans, postal trucks, and a bunch of other local people. Food was like manna from Heaven!

I'm an outdoorsy guy so the big cities NY, Vegas and Seattle don't appeal to me. But Moab and the different climates of Hawaii look awesome. Also, I'm into scary attractions, I've watched youtube videos of haunted attractions in near New Orleans, I would make an exception for that big city just to let my imagination run wild. Thanks for your insight!

Hmm..I'll have to disagree about Vegas not being safe for solo female travelers. I've traveled solo to Vegas and I've enjoyed the strip and felt totally safe. But I'm also responsible when I travel. I don't go out partying at clubs nor do I "over drink". It's all about being smart and alert when you travel. I've also enjoyed going to shows by myself. I have 2 friends who take solo trips to Vegas often. I was fine catching the Deuce up and down the strip. I didn't deal with over-priced cabs. But my experiences traveling solo to Vegas have been great.

The bay area is not safe especially San Francisco/Oakland. Not only that, but the police wont respond to anything that doesnt involve violence or an immediate threat. Sf is notorious for smashing windows and stealing personal belongings so definitely make sure to never leave any personal belongings behind. The homelessness and drug issues are a real problem, and its very common to see ppl shooting up in the middle of the day. Personally I wouldn't suggest bringing children or walking around at night, but even during the day there still a threat of being robbed. Please dont come here thinking everything peachy. It's TRUE you can come here and have a good time and it is a beautiful place. However, you definitely need to be on top of your sht if you want to visit here. Just wanted to give yall a heads up, cheers, and happy traveling
