Regarding Biyadhoo Island, the house reef is now unfortunately dead. The accommodations are REALLY basics, and service medium at best. That being said, the island itself is pretty authentic and unspoiled, and beaches are gorgeous.

It would be helpful if you can point out the average Price of the foods provided by each resorts, and the price of the water resort.

It's a beautiful place i didn't heard about that island my friend been there for the Christmas it's a awesome!!!

I, and I believe my opinion is shared by many, wants to know an approximate cost from arrival to departure for a given period, maybe daily average costs. This would make it easier to plan for a visit

I think this is the problem with doing the Maldives on the cheap. I went several years ago, and I would STRONGLY recommend going at least full board, but if you want to not worry about costs, go all-inclusive. It's hard to penny pinch in the Maldives, everything is expensive. The resorts will give you receipts to sign off even if you are inclusive, and unless you can pay $300 a day in food and drink, you really need to just pay that in advance so you don't have to worry about things. Most of the experiences are also chargeable, so if you want to go to the spa, or sea-fishing, or paragliding, etc, again those aren't cheap. And if all you want to do is sit on a beach and read / sunbathe, there are cheaper ways to do it. The rates mentioned here are likely for in-land villas, bed and breakfast at most, and won't include travel costs (it's hard to include these when everybody travels from somewhere different). I think you cannot do Maldives for less than $500 a night 3*, $700 a night 4* and 1000$ a night 5*, all in. That's factored across a 14 day stay to include flights from the US or Europe. It's an expensive place to go, no doubt, if you really want to have a nice holiday. EDIT: To be fair, I did just have a little look, and there are some potential "bargains" next year. Perhaps the 5* is now $700, the 4* is now $500, and the 3* is now $350, on the same basis as the above. Covid doing its thing, even to fairly aspirational holidays.

Which is some point when they reach the resort, they will found out that there are some activities worth trying for, but its too late for the whole package since they are already there, and it will end up charging them each activities. But again, some people wants to experience Maldives and I'm sure they will come back again, cheers!

It would be much cheaper if you decide to spend the vacation in a local island. You would get an equivalent service for much cheaper prize. Plus you would get the opportunity to enjoy the real Maldives by living among the local community. Cheers!

There are no "cheap" Maldives resorts. You might get relatively cheap accommodation, but by the time you've paid for all the "extras" (and drinking water will be an extra) it sure ain't cheap.

I have checked all with Agoda, the cheapest was 370 USD, the most expensive one 1600 USD per night. When the video is called "below 200", does it mean that the price grew by 100-1000% within a year?

Because Maldives have a great earning season in the months of November to march and the video was posted in may so factually when you will go off season where rain may shower and drizzle, you can easily get cheap prices of them

Those water Villas are BEAUTIFUL BUT erecting them did SOOO much destruction to the coral reef that was most likely 100's of years old. VERY expensive price to pay for luxury.... Literally death of living coral reef 😢😥😓 This would explain the lack of Sea life in the glass floors in those Villas

Don't be afraid of Tsunamis in the Maldives. They don't have gradually shelving coastlines, which is what makes tsunamis dangerous.

In 2013 a 15-year-old girl was sentenced to 100 lashes by a Maldives court for engaging in premarital sex. She was raped by her stepfather. Also, the inhabitants of the Maldives are prohibited from working in resorts because of moral issues with western habits, serving alcohol etc. Hence guest workers from Sri Lanka are used. Touristing in muslim countries is in my opinion an acceptance of that moral. These countries should be boycotted by all possible means including tourism.

You're right. I didn't know any of this before booking a stay in a guesthouse on an inhabited island, but this will be my first and last visit to the Maldives. What a shame the Maldivians still engage in such clearly unjust, barbaric practices.
