Been to Ireland 10 times to play, always play the links as they are unique to Ireland and Scotland. My top 10 would be Ballybunion, Lahinch, Donegal (Murvagh), Carne, Enniscrone, Rosses Point, County Louth, Royal Portrush, Royal County Down, Portmarnock Old. The last 4 we have only played once, the others multiple times. Usually the best part of the day is the people we meet and the pint at the club bar.

Hey Pat, thank you so much for watching our video! We really appreciate the support. That is some top 10! And you're absolutely right, the best part of the game is 100% the people and the craic you have afterwards

On your list I have played four of them: Ballybunion, Lahinch, Portrush and Royal County Down. Hard to choose which is the best as they’re all beautiful. I would probably choose royal county down, I have to admit it was the best weather day of the four when I played them.

Just played the 3 Rosapenna Courses last weekend. 3 brilliant and totally different courses on the same stretch of dunes. Well worth the 4 hour drive!

Hey James, thanks so much for watching the video. Yea Rosapenna is 100% on our list to get to this year!
Great selection on golf courses, I must go over to Ireland for at least a month when I retire. Ireland is a credit to world golf.
I recently stumbled upon your channel and I am loving it guys! Hard to argue with that top 10 although I would advise a visit to Portstewart in the near future to dispute it 😅

New course at Rosapenna, St Patrick's Links is unreal.

When we recorded this we hadn’t played Rosapenna, St. Patrick’s wasn’t even open then either. Since then yea we’ve played all 3 and they’re all world class!
Maybe not of the level of courses you guys have been lucky enough to have played but I played Galway bay and thought it was beautiful too .....haven't been lucky enough to play those you mentioned tho I'm only about an hour from portush so maybe some day soon as we went up and seen Lowry win and it looks class also got seve ballesteros golf ball at mount Juliet and signed my programme something I never will forget as he's my all time hero .........

Hey Mark, thanks so much for watching the video and for commenting. Really appreciate the support! Played Galway bay and love it, any time I’m out that way I always make sure to hit it up. It’s a proper test of golf and a lot of fun. Some brilliant courses up around the Portrush area. What’s your home course? That’s an incredible moment to have that from Seve!

It absolutely is! We hadn’t played it at the time of recording, but we’ve actually since filmed a video at Ardglass! You can check it out on our channel!
Just played Ballybunion Old for the first time and St A old and new for the first time within the last two weeks. Folks are shocked when I say the old course at St. Andrews was my least favorite of the three. Ballybunion old is far and away the most pure and beautiful course I think I’ve ever played

I tell people as well….if the Old Course was the muni at your town you wouldn’t pay $50 to play it . Been there..done that..don’t really need to go back. Too many great courses over there I’d rather play.

trust me I agree! I was filming there for the PGA this year and it was amazing, walked the course but haven't got to play it... yet!
I thought Cashen might sneak in but we are blessed for choice in this country, if a golfer could only golf in Kerry for the rest of their life they wouldn’t be disappointed with the options! As a county has it the collection of best courses in Ireland?!

Yea we've since played Lahinch, and RCD and Waterville are due to be crossed off very shortly. So we may have to do an updated video haha! Royal Co down is not a great golf course. Far to many blind shots, and far to many poor bounces. In Tiger woods prime I seen him take atleast 86 at RCD . also in practice round for British senior open, Gary player said it was the worst an most unfair "@££%&£" courses he has ever played 🤣
There are plenty of ususal suspects and no shortage of great links courses, but The Island in Donabate in North Dublin and Carne in Belmullet in Co. Mayo are hidden gems.
@BogeyMenPod

Both brilliant courses. Neither of which we’ve played yet. Have plans to play both soon. So this list will need to be updated! Thanks a mil for watching!
Have you played Old Head?
@BogeyMenPod
2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not, we'll have to plan a trip down that way to check it out!
Portmarnock is a fair but tough links you not mention The Island, European, Waterville and then there is Ballyliffen (2) courses and Rossapenna (3) courses and Lahinch, Ardglass, Royal Portrush, Portstewart, Ennis rose, Rosses Point, Ballyconneally, in fact Ireland has a multitude of great links courses any visitor will be spoilt for choice there are so many here.
@BogeyMenPod

There are so many great courses in Ireland. Limiting the list to 10 is nearly impossible. Some absolute belters in the list there. Island is class, european is a beast. I love Lahinch. Hadn’t played it when we recorded this but have a whole other video on it. Ardglass is amazing. So much good golf here
Lahinch - RCD - st Patrick’s - carne - ballyliffin - Ardglass
My best 5 ...(only in the southwest Ireland).. Ballybunion, Old Head, Tralee,, Waterville, Lahinch Old Course.

Yea it’s an incredible course. We just haven’t got out there yet! I imagine once we play Carne, it’ll easily be on this list
The Island, Donabate.
As mentioned below Concra Wood is a must. Did you have to mention Trump ?
@BogeyMenPod
10 ай бұрын
Still haven't played Concra Wood, but it's on the list, just need the weather to improve so we can get to some of these places! Doonbeg is a great course, regardless of ownership, one of the most fun days we've had on the podcast was playing Doonbeg this summer.
The old head course
European course is such a beautiful links
@BogeyMenPod

Yea it's stunning, but also a very tough task!
Certainly lots of good courses mentioned here, all but one! I wouldn’t play on ANY Trump owned course if my life depended on it.
@BogeyMenPod
Жыл бұрын
That's certainly a popular opinion, and one I thought of before I played the course, what I will say is that everyone that I met who works on the course or in the hotel were locals to the area who would likely have to move away to find another job if this course and hotel didn't exist. It's massive for the local economy, not just the staff but other local bars, restaurants etc that benefit from the tourism the hotel drives. I looked at is more as supporting them than the owner.
You should play Arklow. A poor man's European Club

Hi John, this video gives our full top 10. Jonny picked 5, Dave picked 5. And as we said at the start of the video we have to have played the courses for them to be included in the list. At the time we hadn’t played certain courses such as RCD or Lahinch

Yea you’re 100% right. Haven’t played Old Head, which in itself is tough to take
There is too much emphasis on conditioning. You have ANGC disease.
Maybe do some courses that aren't over 300 a round, but you're just part of the industry. Adare is ridiculous, never open and a bane of the local community.
