Great video. I’m a big fan of topical vitamin C especially, been using it for donkeys years I would caution people not to take antioxidant supplements internally though, and just have a varied diet as you suggest. So many studies show that they increase risk of early death. They can also block muscle growth from exercise, and even prevent cancer treatments from working. Oxidation can have lots of benefits in some situations. If you block reactive oxygen species with antioxidants in the hair follicle, it can actually stop hair growth (which makes all those antioxidant shampoos rather dubious…)

Dear Clare, just warning when it comes to collagen, you need to be very careful, It has caused me horrible heart palpitations and weird anxiety attacks. They all stopped when I stopped taking collagen. I drink a lot of home made broth, so I am not sure why a normal dose of vital protein caused this. But if you end up with too much calcium it can be life threatening. This is something worth research. I have a good metabolism, so I am not sure if this is the reason.

  • @thehonestchannel

It's not an issue with physical sunscreens as far as I'm aware. It's an interesting one though because most people would moisturize before using a chemical sunscreen so my feeling is if it was a major issue there would have been more education around it by now - or you would have hoped there would be! That said, I do see sunscreen formulators advising customers to apply their chemical sunscreen first before their moisturizer for maximum absorption. Feels weird, but that would be the safest route, or just use the sunscreen instead of moisturizer.

Budget friendly I don't think so that geek and gorgeous vitamin c was going to cost £30 after all the tax was added from £12😊

Are you on the UK site? Make sure UK is selected on the drop-down at the top. It should be £16.90 all in with shipping.

I've learned a lot from all the experts I've interviewed on the channel, including Dr Frey. I use skincare, but I take a minimalist approach. Her biggest recommendation is to use sunscreen daily which I certainly agree with her on and do myself.
