The destruction looks like what happened in Port Aransas and Rockport,TX last year. Winds and storm surge is unbelievable. Our communities are still rebuilding from last year. But, as you drive around and see tiny houses still standing next to brand new three stories totally destroyed....It makes no sense. I hope the community gets itself organized, prioritized and stay positive. We had restaurants donate food and service set up under tents for over a month. Two free meals and drinks a day for everyone living and working to clean up. Makeshift landfills on any empty lots. All down the side of roads. I took a year to clean that up. free water and cloths stations. It takes lots of prioritizing and organizing of people and equipment.

Patti I am so sorry you all had to go through that. What a terrible trauma. It is a lot of physical labor and cost, clean up etc. I pray for those that have been affected for the emotional trauma that doesn't seem to ever get mentioned. The emotional trauma that someone goes through in these storms has to be repaired or recognized in some way that is not physical. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your community to stay strong. Im sure that many people when they keep seeing these storms over and over it likely causes that memory to pop up. And like you said you have to stay positive.

Jon: Exactly! Its NOT a hoax. Its human-induced climate change and its getting worse: There is a first time hurricane in Portugal! There is so much talk about rebuilding! There is no future along the Gulf and Atlantic shorelines. This is just the beginning of super hurricanes propelled by warming ocean waters. old geologist.

Actually hurricanes have been less numerous and of less intensity the last decade. But don't let facts get in the way of your hysteria.

why are the buildings made of wood and not reinforced concrete? It would save money in the long run and possibly lives.

At about 3:14, there are a lot of stack and pack houses, I think that DEW can demolish anything and nothing as it is programed.
